What is the use of this plugin ?
I think they want to see if that is what allows the hardware buttons to control the WMPlayer software. With WM6 I think they are having problems getting the buttons to work right.
actualy no this plug in does not do that. this is already ben talked about in the vox forums. this plug in lets u control media player from the homescreen, nothin to do with the media buttons

actually that is the reason why i wanted the file. i thought it did effect the media buttons, guess not.

No worries. I dont understand why you guys are so worried about the WMP buttons not functioning properly. Who in their right mind uses WMP mobile anyways ?

no... no.. this plugin controls media player thru the media player keys which tornado has.. its not a homescreen plugin

Neither do i.. WMP sucks... but the new search function is unavoidable!!!.... I use coreplayer with this you can play,fwd,rvrs songs even if the phone is locked.. thats good if i am riding ma bike i dont have to keep my whole phone unlocked. just the player keys work!

WMP is so primitive that it doesnt have an equalizer. I bought a pair of Shure I2Ct headset for my smartphone and with TCPMP's equalizer the sound is amazingly better. I can tweak the low frequencies and it feels like I have subwoofers right in my ears. The difference is so radical.
Also, the memory footprint is so much more lightweight with TCPMP. WMP mobile is a huge memory hog.

OK, guys, but what about AVRC (AV RemoteControl)? Does TCMP have it? And what about the Ringtone-Subroutine?May it based on the WMP-Core? And a big plus; Only the WMPlayer got a Homescreen-Plugin, nice for all the Users without Extra-Player-Buttons.
And what about the Star-rating, Playlist-Sync or the other little bits around WMP?
Sure,the missed Equalizer and some others...I use both Players,TCMP sometimes have probs with Radio-streaming, but better for my Videos...

i just wish tcpmp had a library and was as easy for that matter as wmp is. if it had a library i would use it.
I've been scouring the net trying to find a downloadable demo/eval copy of the latest version of Coreplayer... but can't find it ANYWHERE!
Does a demo even exisit, or do we just have to just buy it and hope for the best?
why dont you just use TCPMP it's their free version
In my opinion it's not really worth buying becouse it seems that they only update it like once a year. Only adding few features fixes that should have been there in the first place.
I understand that they have a gazillion projects and ports but... It doesn't fix the product.

There is no need for buying the Coreplayer.
Take the The Core Pocket Media Player (TCPMP) instead.

It depends if your rom comes with the decoder-files. You can add them manually.
I never had to download any extra bits before :S

It seems to rely on the built-in files rather than installing them again. I lost wmv-playback as i upgraded my wizard to a raw wm6-rom.
stupid question, but where do i get the decoder files from? I cant see anything relating to them on the Coreplayer site/forums :S
microsoft decided to remane the wma and wmv decoder dll in wm6
you could either duplicate your existing wmv and wma dll's and remane or take them from a wm5 file or search the forum ,')

I have a quick question / favor to ask. I often times like to stream audio and sometimes video on my device. Sadly, the site I use refuses to work with WMP on the phone. I believe it is an asx stream.
I believe CorePlayer supports this stream, but before I go out and buy it, can someone please be kind enough and verify for me if this stream will play? http://www.megastacja.net/kanaly/CLUB/club.asx

The best I can tell. No. CorePlayer won't even allow me to choose a *.flv file from the Open Menu... hidden out.
Divx Mobile player sucks.... and tcp player doesnt show videos correctly. ( .avi ) mostly....
and is core player a free player ? or something u have to buy

CorePlayer costs $30.
What bugs me is that there is a Snapdragon accelerated version on the TG01, why the heck can't I have the option to buy that one? Apparently there is an update on the way, so I guess as a paid up customer I'll get the upgrade free,but still...

wuts wrong with Tcp and the 1.66 roms? the video shows weirdly.

core player works great on htc hd2
looks great on htc hd2 small and full screen movie
if you have problem with coreplayer and you have sound but no picture set in tools,preferences,select pages,video output set on directdraw and problem its gone now you have picture and sound

Hello ... is there any way to set the headset included with the HD2 to function with Coreplayer ? I mean, to use the move forward and move back key of the headset to go next and previous songs ...

coreplayer works fine for me on 1.66

Yep, even though its not hardware accelerated it works fine for me also, occasionally choppy for a few secs here and there, thats what I think could be better with the accelerated version.
Sorry noob here. Which version of coreplayer should I get for HD2? I don't want to end up paying for the incorrect version.

To use hardware acceleration requires use of Qualcomm intellectual property, which Qualcomm guards jealously. The writers of CorePlayer have not purchased the rights to use this IP. Toshiba have; they hired the CorePlayer guys to make them a special version of Coreplayer for the TG01. If the CorePlayer guys were to distribute that they would get sued by Qualcomm, and possibly also by Toshiba.

Well I don't know whether you mean this, but I couldn't control Coreplayer through my Bluetooth headset. If so, just go to tools, settings, go to WMP UI plugins and tick all three options.

When I had the drois I had a subscription with an app/service called JETFLICKS. I no longer have the droid so I'm not able to STREAM the tv shows. With the droid on android I simply clicked on the link and the OS opened up the player and streamed the show!
The only way I'm able to watch the tv shows with my hd2 is like this:
1- copy and paste the url link and paste it to wm player.
2- click the link and opera lets me download the show (dont like/want that).
I'm able to go to jetflicks.mobi on my browser and login. BUT, I want to be able to click the title of the show and for my hd2 to open the player and STREAM the show. Is this to much to ask on WM??
I tried associating everything to TCPMP and no dice.
Any suggestions on how I can amke this happen? Will the paid version of coreplayer do it?

Thanks, I just did but the only thing that comes up is .apk files which if for android only.
I did find this lick (see below) but I dont think its for real? Why would they be the only ones to have the file?
like to know this to . i don't understand in the beginning when i got my hd2 it, when i open an rtsp link it automaticly opens that stream app build in the ROM , now i got to download the video or copy and paste like you said i like to know how to fix this.

Interesting, Mine never did that. But what I really want is to just click the link and than the stream starts. Someone has to make an app for this!

Now I flashed my rom with artemis V10 but it still don't open streaming media automaticly so i gues it was a mistake of the rom?
i dont have any experience in this, maybe you can give me a way of testing this without a subcription to this site i.e. a different site and i will test it out. but on CleanEX DsE v5, there is an app with the windows media player icon, that is called "streaming media". maybe that is the answer?
