Have you considered the hex edit to let this work with Blackberry and goodlink. With the recent Rim ver 4 Client even data over 3g to the MDS service could work.

Midget, is the Bluetooth stack the same as older versions or better ? In fact i'd like to know if there is something to hope about bluetooth headset because with my plantronics, people can't hear me when i speak in the mic of the headset.

Just another ROM added some applications,modified basing on the original ROM.

pity this aku 7 version not have the RGU FILEs.
Becoming a BAD THING build ROM and not include the RGU files.

aku 0.7 just too buggy
major bug. my universal couldn't detect sim card on this rom. i think aku 0.7 is just still too buggy and some are mojor bugs. going back to ivan's aku 0.5 now.

I don't have any problem with detecting a SIM with any AKU 0.7 ROM. It must be something wrong on your Universal. I would suspect that is a RADIO ROM problem not the CE ROM by itself.

Reliably crashes after 20-30 seconds of playing music over A2DP.

Yesterday I tryed both this one & 2.11.12. So called "Newer" version, 2.11.13, crashed every minute. However, 2.11.12 works GREAT. It's the first & ONLY rom since Darkforce, where Cyberon Voice Speed Dial 1.2 works just the way it should, breaking bluetooth connection after receiving a command. Every other roms I tried (and I tried them all) either don't work at all, or I must press the handsfree button again, after saying a command, to break the audio connection. Cyberon Voice Speed Dial is absolutely neccessary to me, so it is the main reason when testing roms.
This rom is also stable and VERY fast, speed is easily noticeable, try for example to "update library" in WMP when you have a lot of audio files - in this new rom the process takes about three times (!) less time then in every previous rom available. And this is just one example, incredible speed is noticeable everywhere.
By the way, it seems the common practice with PDAViet - their "latest" rom is usually much worse then simultaneously published "earlier" one, for example version 2.10.10 is much better & faster then 2.10.11.
May be all of them are just customized versions of roms, published here - however, such "customization" is just what we need. Everything works, no crushes, wonderful speed, 25Mb of free memory all day long - what else can a Universal owner dream about?

nothing wrong with my uni. i just downgraded back to aku 0.5 (same radio 1.18) and no more prob. i am not sure if this rom not compatible with radio 1.18.

As usual. To download PDAViet firmware is a mission!!!
Why they do it the hard way?

New ROM (build CE OS 5.2.1908 Build 18508.0.7.0) STABLE ON G4

This is yet another new ROM based on the recent PDAVIET-a-likes.
For me, all 18508.070 builds have been unstable and unuseable on my G4, either crashing randomly or stopping dead on the splash screen. I made this rom to address those poor G4 user's problems and make a consistenly fast stable ROM with no redundant components.
- CE OS 5.2.1908 Build 18508.0.7.0
6MB pagepool, custom filesystem cache+buffer settings
- Based on PDAVIET 2.11.13's ROM+XIP 5.2.1908
- Using modified and patched Mamiware OEM+OS 18508.0.7.0

- VOIP (my own hybrid OEM package, based on Helmi's)
setup your account using "VOIP Setup" under connections
tested with sipgate.co.uk account. I had to reboot before it would work.

The rom does not include videocall, voice recorder or MMS.
Help required -
The VOIP Setup icon is just a plain ugly box, if anyone knows how to extract an icon from one EXE and attach it to another, please PM me. Also if anyone knows a good, small MP3 player that can be made into an OEM package, again PM me. So far I've tried HTCAudioManager (too big, lots of files), GSPlayer (great player but refuses to run from ROM) and mortplayer (too big, lots of files, fiddly to use).
One last point, there's a lot of unused space in this ROM. I'll release the kitchen for it when I have more time so you can add your own stuff to it.

voip setup gave me an error

with Transcriber missing from all those build 2.11.1x ROMs, what do u guys use for hand writing recognition?

The VOIP setup program isn't an official MS thing, so it is a little crashy.
I only needed to enter the details twice to get it working.
MS expect the VOIP settings to be installed by your phone carrier in some way. Either as a CAB or with a 3rd-party tool so there's no official MS or HTC alternative.
I've tried another tool "SetupVOIP", but it's even more crashy than the one I've used here and I couldn't get it to work.

This is a newly created rom made by FABIII TEAM and THEQUARTZGUY (me) and is a nice rom focused towards folks who want a rom that will have basically all the apps you need or want already installed after flashing/hard reset. It has a little over 90 mb free after hard reset, which is not bad if you consider everything on the rom. This rom was only tested by a small group of people, but results have been good so far. It is basically a loaded up rom full of media/office/utility apps that are useful to most people.
It also has an autoinstall on customizations, so you can choose wether or not to install several apps, so you can set it to your liking to some extent.
This rom is pretty clean altogether, and most of the app shortcuts are placed in folders to clean up the start menu a little. The today screen looks a little cluttered, of course, due to the today plugins included, but they can be easily disabled in today settings, as you already know

this ROM looks very unorganized, not many new features or apps (from what I see because you didn't list any) and the whole overall look of it is ugly. Sorry to be such a harsh critic but there are some better ROMs on this site then this, nice try though.
Alos, if you were going for stability over features etc.. I don't know why anybody really focuses on that anymore. Every ROM i've flashed with my Kaiser has been stable because It is a fast device. With my Hermes, Stability was very important esp. with Mobile 6, but i think the kaisers hardware can handle a lot.

If you don't like what the cook is brewing don't eat it. Why do you have to discourage people? Where is your cooked ROM so I have go flame it? Hey All Thanks Alot For Supporting The Rom, I Know Many People Like Different Things, But I Really Felt That Many People May Enjoy This One Due To Its "application Rich" Content And Still Having Enough Availible Memory To Do What They Need.
As I Said Before, The Today Screen Is Somewhat Cluttered, But That Is Easily Fixed With A Couple Screen Taps To The Settings Page... I Wanted To Include Enough Today Plugins To Hopefully Suit "everyone", Or At Least Give Them More Options.
well, Thanks To Anyone Willing To Try It And Provide Feedback, If Anyone Likes This Rom, i Am Working On A 6.1 Based Rom At This Time, And Dont Know When It Will Be Finished, But I Would Be Glad To Post It If Anyone Out There Is The Slightest Bit Interested!

I am a ROM addict and this ROM just brick my fone. Actually had to return it to ATT and buy a new $600 Kaiser. However, I Have Now Flashed This Rom Successfully On 6 Different Att Tilts And 2 Htc Kaisers And All Have Completed And Operated Perfectly. Again, Sorry About Your Troubles, But I Honestly Don't Believe This Rom Has Caused Your Ill Issues.

We're not allowed to cook VC 1.6 in. While there were "bundled" versions for other phones, it can only be purchased from m$ for Kaiser. VC 1.6 is warez and must be removed unless you have cooked in a trial version or one that requires a key. Sorry

All negative feedback on this subject is retarded...someone out of the kindness of the heart takes time out of their busy schedule to make and post a rom...and some moron wants to put it down...all he wants is feedback on glitches/non working apps. Way to go quartzguy and keep up the good work!

I have flashed this rom multiple times and have had no "BRICK" issues...maybe need to reconsider that your computer had something to do with it....moreso, i have flashed every version of every rom quartzguy has cooked(at least 12) and have never bricked or had any major problems whatso ever...feel safe when flashing a FABIII rom...and thank you to all the people that have helpful feedback.

Just had it do it to me, I am currently flashing another rom in a hope to save the phone. I am at 66% currently.

To Those With Rom Flashing Issues....
HEY GUYS, TO YOU THAT ARE HAVING FLASHING PROBLEMS, ARE YOU CHANGING THE NAME OF THE FILE PROPERLY AS TO WHICH WAY YOU ARE FLASHING? IE. FLASHING WITH CUSTOM RUU, FILE SHOULD BE "RUU_signed.NBH" and FLASHING WITH MICRO SD, FILE NAME SHOULD BE "KAISIMG.NBH"
OTHERWISE, NOT SURE WHY YOU WOULD BE HAVING AN ISSUE. I HAVE PERSONALLY FLASHED THIS TO MORE THAN 6 TILTS AND 2 KAISERS, AND I HAVE GOTEN FEEDBACK FROM OTHERS THAT HAVE ALSO FLASHED FINE, NO COMPLICATIONS...

HTC P4300 Business Edition ROM CE OS 5.2.1622 Build 18128 AKU 4.4 (updated 6/12/09)

This is a 18128.0.4.4 ROM build based on PeterPetrelli's Wizard port of the AT&T 8525 WM6 ROM. It is a mix of old and new components, so if you don't like old stuff, you may not want to flash it. It is not built using the Hypercore kitchen (Tadzio's tools) so the ULDR space is still there. The today theme is the wasabi green HTC_default.tsk from the HTC 4350 official ROM along with the same green dialer and comm manager. When you change from or to the HTC theme, you must manually soft reset to change the dialer skin even though you click the "ok" on the dialog box. It's smooth, fast and very stable. The ROM is easily extracted, but I put it together as a factory ROM, so all of the programs are in the OEMAPPS package instead of separate. When you extract it for kitchen use, no OEM-side folders are in the SYS side.

I've just installed this build and up to now, no complains. Really smooth, stable and fast as mentioned!
I also already dumped to start cooking over it. Let you know how was it after flashing...but it seems ok. I got OEM, XIP, SYS all together.

AKU 4.4 is the adaptation kit upgrade used for the Kaiser and Hermes WM6 ROM's. It's not meant for the Wiz, but it is the most stable, ported base ROM there is.
epiamazzo, I'm glad you're giving this a whirl. I've had this ROM in .308 build sitting on my old laptop for almost a year. It was on my old Qtek 9100 when I lost it leaving China. I just brought over all of the OEM files and tweaked the .dsm files so everything would be in the right place if someone decided to cook it. The only thing missing is the Lockstream DRM files, and I don't think anyone knows how to make those work outside of their original ROM.
UPDATE: I'm going to put the Network Wizard back in, since I finally got it to work. I'll upload it in a day or two, but everything else should stay the same.

Is this WM5? I do realise that its posted on WM6 section... but I thought that AKU 3.3 was the latest WM5... so I'm wondering...

jwzg, if you're going to upload a new version, the only thing i noticed was that devauth and sqm could probably be removed. i made my own already, but for others
very nice base! glad to see not everything now is 6.1 btw, i don't understand how its 18128 if the rom reports 1622... i imagine that its because of the merging...

The ROM upgrade for the Hermes has that OS and build number. I just flashed one last week. The XIP was ported by PP and the drivers are taken directly from the .308 build. There wasn't much else done. Either way, it's still one of the best ROM's I've run for quickness and stability. Kind of a businessman's ROM.

When they finish video my thoughts today we see aku 3.5.2. If only missing default oem folder luckily defy the others with more, but never won truly port. Uses no point half official half hermes also damage.
Friendly yesterday tell say maybe aku 0.4.4 but stupid care difference not us.

I'm pulling the VoIP packages from the ROM for now. It seems that everything connects, but I can't seem to get audio from the speaker. I don't know what's causing it, but this is not an issue with .308 build. Network Wizard is back in and working. Other than that, no changes.

I downloaded the file but when I try to extract the file I'm asked for a password. I'm using 7-Zip to extract. Any ideas?

Maybe you should read the first post.....
This is easily the most stable rom since the Ingenetics / 318 build. I'm so impressed by how stable and responsive this rom is. I have yet to find a single bug in this rom. This is definitely a keeper in terms of wizard roms.

I can't believe people are wasting their time with 6.1 builds when we have solid official base roms such as this. Likewise I can't believe that more people havent tried this rom. That's terribly disappointing. One unmentionable 6.1 thread on this forum has near enough to 800 posts on it, almost all of them issues with the rom. People would rather have a bug infested 'latest' build than something as solid as this. I will never understand that. I just shake my head.
jwzg, you have done an awesome job with this rom. It has to be the most stable wizard rom that I have seen. It's simplicity with no bugs for the businessman that adore stability.

Couldn't agree with you more. You've done such a great job with this rom. Worthy of a signature change.

PP I'm awfully flattered. I still have a few bugs to get out including a non-working BT activation of VSD (I think). I'd like to see a bit more beta testing on some of these 6.1 ROMS, but we'll never know the limits unless they are pushed.

I was wondering few things before I flash this rom.
1. Does it have micro office?
2. is there a way to get the sms/mms to thread like in the 6.1 rom?
How are the reports on blue tooth? any dropped or missed connections? Right now i'm trying a 6.1 rom and it drops my headset and i have to restart blue tooth and head set...
