Alarms go off; however, phone does not prompt me to dismiss or snooze - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Hello everyone!
Lately my wizard (cingular 8125) does not prompt me to dismiss or snooze the alamrs whenever they go off. instead i have to set thephone to silent as there is no way to dismiss them.
I've reset the phone, disable and re-disable the alarms but no luck.
does anyone know a fix for this issue?
thanks in advance!
Will V

Might want to post some other information, like what OS, what build, things like that

Well, not a solution, but a workaround. I recommend using Pocket WakeUp. It is much better than the integrated alarm function and also wakes up people who sleep like a log... like me ;-)

TF3D next alarm not accurate

Hi,
I've began to have a weird problem with my Touch Pro since about a few days ago. The "Next Alarm" on the TouchFlo 3D "home" screen does not update accurately. For example, I have an alarm set now for 6 AM next morning, but the line says "Alarm Off".
I've had an alarm set today for 6AM and another for 7AM. After the 6AM alarm went off, I dismissed it, but the screen kept showing 6AM as the next alarm.
Also, I don't get a pop-up when the alarm comes off. The sound plays, the device vibrates, the bell icon appears in the title bar, but no notification pops up.
I'm using the stock ROM that was on my device (1.90.401.1 WWE, ROM date 08/01/08).
Things I tried that didn't help:
- Soft reset - the problem reappears after a while. TouchFLO 3D sometimes restarts if the device is turned on after a long period of inactivity by sliding the keyboard out. After the restart the alarm line says "Alarm Off" even though I have an alarm for the next day at 6 AM.
- Clearing the notification queue doesn't seem to have any effect at all.
Any ideas? Thanks for any help.
Any ideas anyone? Pleeease! This bug annoys me and I don't want to do a hard reset :-(
i have the same rom and tha same problem
its strange cos i tink at the start i did get a dismiss button, but now i only get the icon and the ring/vibration
i tink htc still need to fix alot of problems
I was just going a search for this same problem.
When I first got my Touch Pro less than 2 weeks ago, I got a dismiss button. Now it's gone and I have to go diving for my stylus on a morning to open up the alarm thing at the top, then wait for the next screen, then choose the alarm, THEN I can dismiss it.
REALLY annoying.
Anyone know what this is?
I actually fixed that one. It seems that something (Advanced Config?) caused my notification settings to be reset. After changing them back in Start->Settings->Sounds & Notifications it all went back to normal. However the next alarm is still not accurate sometimes. Seems like it's only update occasionally and not immediately.

I've tried this a few times, and the alarm still doens't pop to the front.
Last night I turned TouchFlo off alltogether, and it STILL doesn't pop to the front.
So it *MUST* be something in Windows Mobile somewhere.
Does anyone else have any clue?
You know what, I just did some intensive Googling and found this
https://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsMobile/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3951579&SiteID=65
To summarise
Start -> Settings -> Sounds & Notifications
Choose Notifications Tab
Change the dropdown to Reminders (the bit I missed)
Now you can see a checkbox for Display message on screen
Check the box, click OK, close settings.
Fixed
The clock & alarms has been a problem since Windows Mobile saw daylight.
I don't use it anymore as my alarm, I use pTravelAlarm instead.
Works like the alarms on WM should: Dependable, and a BIG snooze button

Alarm notifications not working on FUZE

I searched the Raphael forums for this and did not find an answer so here is the problem.
My HTC FUZE is running the stock rom with TF3D and my alarm did not go off this morning. I had a calender event scheduled with a 15 min reminder for 8 am and an alarm set for 9 am. The calender event went off as planned but with such a quiet noise it didn't wake me up, and I did not dismiss it obviously. So then the alarm notification also did not go off because there was already one notification that was not dismissed yet. When I check the title bar and click the alarm icon that is there, is brings up both of the two notifications at the bottom of the screen and I can dismiss them. If there is no calender event to dismiss it works fine. I still have to click on the title bar to get it to pop up at the bottom at all though. So I am hesitant to make any calender events with alarms at all for fear that my alarm clock won't work!!!!
Please provide any insight into this that you can!!! Thanks in advance...
Without any calander events and an alarm set for 6:15AM, it has failed to go off every day since I've had the phone. I just installed pTravelAlarm, the same one I used on my Tilt, and it's been working fine.
Not a Fuze issue - rather, a Window's Mobile problem - well documented -
I installed g-alarm and it warned that my device (Fuze) may suffer from a notification bug and that it had to reboot to fix it (guessing registry fix). So apparently someone's aware of the alarm bug/issue.
Haven't had any issues since though (with gAlarm)
I too have the alarm bug on my Fuze running latest ROMeOS. Going to give gAlarm a try like others have suggested.

Guess that is what I will try also. It definitely sounds like a WM bug...
I also have an alarm problem, although lights go off, the alarm doesn't ring. I also have problems with ringing on incoming calls. The speaker otherwise works fine. I have Natfv4.0 installed. Do any of the roms fix this problem?
my
TP's alarm works but the notification dosent pop up to give me the option to dismiss it? how do i fix that?
Is there a registry fix for this?
I don't get pop-up windows any more - I think since i turned off threaded SMS.
Wasn't that an initial problem with the Fuze? I remember having that issue. Just flash to a newer build OS and you'll be fine.
Work phone, not an option.
Surely there's a registry doodad I can change?
It's a Windows Mobile problem as noted, something about duplicated notifications. One suggestion was to download sktools, and use that to clear up your notification que. It is a registry thing I believe, but it's rather a pain in the butt to find where the notifications are and what to delete. SKtools Lite I think can do it, I know it can scan the notification queue and clear it up, but I've never had the problem so far. Would think that Microsoft would have at least made sure the alarm function of a business phone works.

[Q] Question about Alarms on the Fuze

When I have an alarm set up, for example I have a M-F alarm to wake up for work, and the alarm goes off, it never displays any option for "Snooze" or "Disable". In fact, nothing comes on the screen at all. I have it set to repeat if I miss it, so to disable it I end up having to go into the alarms config, and turn off the alarm manually by unchecking it.
There has to be an easier way.... every other phone I've had (including my Blackjack II) has a "snooze" and "disable" option when the alarm goes off.
I know this must be obvious but I can't find it. Please help!
i havent confirmed this, but i saw this info on another forum:
http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/board/message?board.id=cingular&thread.id=108907
alarm
i just did the alarm this morning and saw the same thing. what i did was touch the top screen with all the symbols to bring up the system menu. there was an alarm symbol. i clicked it then the soft keys changed to disable on left and menu on right. tapped menu and the options for snooze came up. clicked snooze for ten min and it went away. ten min later the alarm went off again. hope this helps.
Yup that's it exactly. I do this every weekday morning!
I can only offer that I have the same problem. I have a feeling it is similar to my problems with the phoen application and how it now works.
I feel it is touchflo 3d fault.
Correct me if I am wrong but the overlay of TouchFlo has made my device more troublesome than my 8125 on wm5.

Wow, that totally defeats the purpose of snooze, by the time i figure out how to do all that it when i'm half asleep i'll be wide awake already!
Guess the 3rd party will have to fix this.
This is another example of where basic functionality of a phone has been superseded by glitzy features.
Another thing I noticed is that the alarm will repeat a few times and then just disable itself and never go off again. There is an option buried somewhere for alarms and how many times to repeat but I think it was grayed out for no apparent reason.
I had that problem too. I ended up getting gAlarm and I'm happy with it. There is nice big snooze button as well as a stop button. I think if you turn the phone over, it will snooze too. But I'll have to verify that.
omg..i HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!!
i thought i was the only one that was completely lost on this...
There has to be something were missing...because going thru all those steps is alot of hassle, when ur half asleep
I'm willing to bet a dollar that most of use that rely on the Fuze alarm clock are now getting up roughly 10 minutes earlier...

True That.
I Hate it.
lmao
The built in alarms just don't cut it. If you're going to use it for getting you up so you can go to work it's worth getting a good dedicated alarm.
On my TyTn I liked pTravelAlarm:
http://www.burroak.on.ca/pta.html
On the Fuze I'm testing Klaxon:
http://www.koushikdutta.com/search/label/Klaxon
I think I slightly prefer pTravelAlarm but it's not free; when I fumble with the phone it shakes enough to shut off the alarm when I just want to snooze.
But both have nice big snooze buttons you can jab at when you're half-asleep/hungover.
Thanks guys, i'll check out some of the suggested solutions!
The popup is occurring but it is happening BEHIND TF3D. I highly recommend Klaxon. The program is a little slow and setting the time is annoying as you cant type numbers, you have to press up/down to find your numbers but it goes off and it is a nice big screen.

Disable wake on any notification

Hi guyz,
Googled it with no real solution, nobody in the Touch Pro forum seem to have it either.
Is there any way to disable waking my ppc or at least lock the touch panel on notifications like low battery, appointments etc. Message notification is easy to disable, Answerkeys Disabler works like charm when it comes to incoming calls but I want to disable waking up the device on any notification and have only audible alerts.
Often when in pocket or case my TP wakes on low battery or appointment reminder and starts random dialing, texting, etc. which is getting annoing.
Thanks in advance,
dEM
there may be a registry key you can delete so that you don't get notifications at all.... i'm not real sure about which ones though. i'll look around.
EDIT: SHNotificationRemove at msndn :
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa455968.aspx
Good question, hope someone has an answer
how about usin s2u2? doesnt solve it exactly but maybe a workaround?
There are some locking solutions over there. I'm looking for one that doesn't lock my device all the time but only on these notifications. The best will be if it doesn't even wakes up.
Just great! More than a month I've been trying to find a solution to this problem with no success!
Hi,i hope this keeps the thread alive,i would also like to know if its possible and how
Me Too!
I have this exact same problem. When a reminder alerts me on the phone it wakes up the unit and turns the display on. If this stays in my holder it just keeps the phone on because it senses all the pushing... We have a PIN enable so it won't do anything major. But there are times I've pulled out my phone to find it awake (on) and there are * in the password field - so I know it is sensing touches when in the holder. This definitely drains the battery.
HELP PLEASE! Any Fix found?
I'm having this problem as well - anybody out there got any ideas...?
I hate how there seems to be no solution to this! It didn't happen to me in WM6.1, so it must be buried within 6.5 in some dark, fetid, unreachable place :-(
I keep accidentally dialing people with my bum when one of my reminders goes off. Grr!
EDIT: I did finally cave and install a slide to unlock feature (S2U2) which I got from http://a2-s2.com. I was surprised with the level of customization you can do with this program, and I do love how I can have the slider's wallpaper change randomly, so I am greeted with a different image each time I unlock the phone. I know it's not what any of us were looking for, but it's a workable solution for now.
I've since gotten round this by using PocketShield - works well for me. Doesn't work well with the PIN lock though....
I'm using Smartlock for locking the screen; incoming call and stand return from suspend.
It has an option "suspend after lock".

disable wake on notification
finally figured it out, a few years later.
still can't find a factory setting for it, but i downloaded NILS (notification lock screen) and it gives you the option to disable wake on notification. hope it helps

Alarm with snooze

Hi guys! I need an alarm that can repeat the sound at intervals (5/10/15 minutes) and support snooze also at different intervals (5/10/15 minutes). Any idea would be much appreciated Thanks!
G-Alarm will do it for you.
Thanks, works like a charm.

If you prefer the basic WM alarms with the snooze options, you can install the attached cab which will disable the crippled HTC one, and bring back the original WM alarm snoozing options.
Be warned that some top taskbar replacement breaks the snooze option even if you have applied the cab attached here.
hi
how do you install al those things on the hd2?
many thanks grz
you could try klaxon... worked on diamond, not tried it on HD2.
its better than g-alarm (imo) as you can just flip the phone which will set the snooze, or shake the phone to turn off the alarm.
G-alarm has the same function you say klaxon has.
You can tell it to snooze or go off when you flip the phone or shake it.
Yeap, I can confirm, G-Alarm has all that.
Simpler solution (you have the original WM6.1 reminders):
With any registry editor, you have to go to :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Shell\Notification\OEM and then rename the following string "CustomUIDLL" in "CustomUIDLLX" ; then you can go back if you need. Soft reset and voilĂ  !

Hi, new member so please excuse me if I'm asking something that seems daft to you more experienced guys, but where you say that the HTC alarm is crippled, what is that about?
The reason I ask, is because I have noticed that my alarm did not seem to be working for the last few days (had my HD2 for around 3 weeks now), and I set it to go off 5 mins ahead to test it, and it beeped once rather than playing the alarm tone that I had set.
Is that what you were referring to when you say that the HTC one is crippled?
Thanks in advance.
Something to keep in mind... I have had a problem since moving to the HD2 where G-Alarm would fail to go off. I woke up late a couple of times to find a windows error message about G-Alarm. Obviously it had tried to go off and failed.
Of course I cant rule out it being affected by something else I have installed or done, but for now I have switched to the HTC alarm and not had any problems.
G-Alarm has a 10day trial though so you can give it a go and just use another backup alarm while you are testing.

do you not have to 'complete a puzzle' before the alarm goes off on g-alarm? or can you opt out of this?
