HELP camera button not working!

whenever i push the side button for the camera it says cannot open, shortcut not located or something
but i can go into file explorer and windows and click the icon but just not the side button...
anyone know what to do??? thanks!
please help
Sounds as though the button has been assigned to an application, not the camera, that you have since removed.
no cause like when i click the camera button icon it goes to the camera and everything works but just the side button doesnt
That is what i am saying it could be that the hardware button on the side has been assigned to something else, i have the record button assigned to Media Player.
Check what it says for Start-Settings-Buttons
i have tried but i dont know what to do when im in that menu
please help

[Q] Volume to take pictures REQ

Hi all,
i would like to know if there is a way to assign the volume button to take pictures. the thing is that my camera button is completely broke ....
If its something that requires some time on your parts i am willing to pay you paypal gift ....
Or if you know of an app that can let me take pic by touching the screen instead of the button
As it happens, I *do* know of such an app! It's called "Camera" and is already installed on your phone!
Seriously, just go to Settings -> Applications -> Pictures + Camera, and select the very top-most option. This feature was added in Mango.
I saw the option this morning in the mango update thank you
the thing is now i can take picture but cant use the camcorder so the offer for a tuto/apps/whatever to make the volume button act as the camera button is still up .... i will pay you
Thank you for your response
You can tap the screen to take pictures without an app. Just tap it twice.
I think you can do the same thing in camcorder mode...I'll have to double-check.
I tried with double tap and it doesn't work

The top most option is to tap the screen to take the picture not the volume button right? Just wanted to make sure if I'm missing something.
Correct, and that's (one of the the things) a solution to the OP's problem.
Anyone ... like i said taping the screen work for the camera but not for the camcorder.

double click power button to open camera in pro mode S8?

Hi guys, can anyone please tell me a way to do this?
I want to be able to launch the camera in pro mode, with settings adjusted, since when i need the camera i wont need to adjust the settings and waste the moment.
Bump anyone?
Im curious about this too. Would be very very helpful. Anytime I open the camera it jumps to auto.
this was asked some months back. i don't recall all the responses, however if there is a variable which singularly sets the camera to pro, when opening, you may likely be able to map it to a button via editing the generic.kl inside system/users/keylayout. i think if you searched for '703' in that file, you can then edit the ending variable to attach a behavior to the bixby button

camera shortcut on Lockscreen gone since P?

Hi guys,
since I upgraded to P the shortcut on the Lockscreen to open the camera is gone. I can't find anything in the settings to re-enable it.
Any help, please?
Kr, Ralf
It's gone from the lockscreen. You can double press the power button as a camera shortcut. Search settings for "Camera" and go ti the "jump to camera" option and enable it if needed. I've always used the double press of the power button so I didn't miss the lockscreen one.

Thanks for your response.
I know about the double press "gesture", but I don't like it... Sad that the Lockscreen shortcut is gone...a real regression for me, and I can't think of a reason why one would remove such a feature?! Has been there for ages (on other devices, that is...)

Question Camera Launching on wake

This is for my wifes phone, we both have S21+5G devices. Her phone will launch the camera when pressing the side power button to wake the device. It does not happen every time but probably a 50/50 chance the device will show the lockscreen correctly vs launching the camera app.
Any thoughts on where to turn this off or what is causing it?
In settings search up
Side Key
And look at all of em

Thanks, I looked and the double click/tap for camera option was checked. I am pretty sure we are not double clicking the side key but I unchecked it anyway and will see if the behavior stops.
Yea so i have played with the side key settings and the device is still being weird opening the camera, maybe it's haxxed. I will try to get the phone factory reset and hope it clears up.
