Hello everybody,
I started the restore of my "Personal Data" with Sprite Backup.
The PROBLEM:
When I use the restored pim.vol I have all the old contacts available (I can open Pocket Outlook, change them etc.), but when I open the calendar I get an error message. Therefore I wanted to backup my contacts from the old corrupted pim.vol, restore the empty new one and restore my contacts back to this.
ANY BACKUP TOOL I TRIED FAILED!
*** thanks a lot for the hint ***
you are need copy that pim.vol to pocket with old (2.3) aku - then backup with any tool (for example PPCPimBackup) that exports your contacts/messages/other to own format and restore from that backup to pocket with new aku (3.3/ other inc.wm6 ) ...
or do it thru syncronize with outlook
Related
I used Backup Manager to backup 1) Databases 2) the \Windows\Messaging\ folder and 3) Some files in the \My Documents\ folder
Then I did a hard-reset
Everything got restored but when I open the Messaging application I do not see any text messages.
I did not backup the registry because I thought that was where my problem was, so I wanted to start with a fresh registry.
Did I do something wrong, or did I miss something?
Hi all
I am trying to restore my pim file which i copied before upgrading to aserg latest rom, without sucess i have copied it to root of device renamed old file and nothing appears in contact list.
What am i doing wrong?
Thanks Neil
I have realised my mistake after a lot of searching, old pim file is not compatible with latest rom, easiest work aroundm is downgrade, back up using sms contacts back up and then re-upgrade
Sometimes i need to hard-rest my htc cruise and everytime i've to set again my 5 email accounts: do you know in which file are saved (in order to set them again quickly) ?
Excuse me for my poor english...

Hello
I tried make a backup of the file with Spb Backup but with this soft I can't see the file, with Resco Explorer I see that it`s a hide file and I can't modify it.
Regards
I use Sprite Backup to do a main backup of all files and settings, incase of a hardreset. PIM backup is usefull for contacts and emails etc if you flash ur rom and cant use a full backup due to different os.
Hi All,
I need your help.
I had to send my HTC Haiser to service and I did a backup with Sprite Backup.
Today I received my phone back. They exchanged mainboard, so when I wanted to restore data it gave me the message that it is different phone and it needs some "upgrade files" - i don't have them - and the restoring did not work - my first mistake
Recently I had to reinstall my pc and after, I didn't synchronize with phone - my second mistake
Reasuming: I have a backup file, I want to restore my contacts. I've installed sprite explorer and recover pim.vol file but don't what to do with it?
How can I get my contacts back???
Please help!!!
Thanks
Piotr

Hi,
Sprite BU can only restore data to the same phone with the same OS. Even an upgrade fom WM6 to WM6.1 is killing the backup. Best thing you try is sending the backup.exe file to your PC and try to open it with Universal Extractor .

Hi,
Check the properties, and try to open it in Notepad. Look at the structure and see if you can save it as *.csv which can be imported in Outlook and then synced by AS.

If the PIM file has been extracted, should it not be the case just to copy to the device?
Let me know if you can extract the contents of a file. pib (Pim backup) so you can synchronize with Microsoft Outlook.
I switched from WM 6.5 to Android 2.1, but before doing this I made the backup with PIM Backup, they can not now open the same with your handheld like to know if there is a program for Android that opens files with this extension, or alternatively one for PC.
