Changing icons in wm6 - General Topics

How would I go about changing the shortcut icons under windows mobile? I'm using the Home Plugin on on htc touch and wish to customize the look of all the program icons.

You have to change the icon of the exe, this may be done with any resource editor software. For example:

http://www.restuner.com/ [shareware and better]

Start Menu and Battery icon questions wm 6.1

Ok, for the start menu, is there any place that I could go to that has custom icons for the folders in the start menu? Also, how would I remove the battery indicator from the taskbar(top bar on phone)? I have tried the registry edits, but none work for me, is there a cab file or some other way to do it? I have a Samsung Blackjack 2 and its running wm 6.1.
You're lucky that I've also been looking into these matters for a while. And I think I've got the answers for all of your questions (and more). I'll share my collections here, but maybe not one time for all. I'll continue to edit this post to try covering everything about icons. So just bookmark your thread and keep looking for updates.
Here first some un-organized links to check into:
Extracting and repackaging icons from existing programs
Change shortcut icons on WM6
icons for sk shortcut manager
Control Panel links and icons wm2003se and higher
[ICONS]How to make folder and shortcut icons! ICONS INCLUDED
Tips: Change your shortcut icons!
shortcut icon for all control panel applets
Give a Folder under 'Programs' a Icon, like 'Games'
For the battery stytus icon on today screen, FInixNOver have two threads discussing about this, one of them is:
[SKN] Customizing the Windows Taskbar [UPDATE-26/10/2008]
For remove it from taskbar, there is a registry tweak, but seems not working well for all WM6 & up OS builds, it will leave an ugly empty space on taskbar for some OS builds. The registry need to create is: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell]
"TBOpt":
dword:0 -> show battery
dword:1 -> show clock
dword:2 -> show date
dword:3 -> show date and clock together
Using above should be combined with the following key:
At least you can change it to display clock instead of battery stytus by tweaking this registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell]
"ShowTitleBarClock":
dword:0 -> show battery
dword:1 -> show clock

How can I change icons

I found a thread here on xda with beautiful icons: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=533993 . Now the big question for me is how can I change the standard icons with an icon from that thread ? I am using winmo 6.1
If your ROM is 6.5 then you can use re/Start http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=481379. For Folder icons you can browse here http://www.iconspedia.com/pack/pry-black-1686/.
To change the tab icons I use Max TF3D Theme Maker. The icons can usually be found as a manila file that this app can then install to your phone. Some tab icon sets can also be found as cab files that just install themselves to your phone. Either way you can get the look you want.

Change icons WM Standard

Are there a app that changer icons for windosmobile standard devices
Moved as not software release.
Not sure there is as think all programs are made for PPC, you can make a .dll with icons change the .lnk's to use the resource .ico's.
ok but dont know how to do that

Icon change

Hi to all.
Is there is any app for windows mobile that we can choose a program shortcut and via properties we can change the icon like we can in windows?
Thanks.
Unfortunately is not available like windows for desktop. You need to install new icons......or via M2D theme. Search and you find enough of them.

Looking for wallpaper of programs page in ArtemisROM V50

Hi!
I'm using CHT 2.0 an I'm now looking for the wallpaper of the programs page (pressing windows button) in Artemis-ROM V50. I would like to use the blue gradient wallpaper on all sides of the HTC Sense UI. Unfortunately I think these graphics are not part of the ArtemisGreenBlack theme because they are not in the cab file.
Can someone tell me where I can find the graphics for wallpaper, taskbar and softkeybar as see on the program page in the named theme?
With many thanks.
NM
if it can help .. there should be a CHT option to set the same background in all tabs (otherwise you could use "back ground for all" cab attached), and serarch in these sites a wallpaper of your taste
stock bacgrounds are stored in \my documents\wallpapers (if I rember the WWE folder name..)

Hola, since your using CHT and Artemis, there shouldn´t be any problem...
Besides what jjollyroger already wrote, maybe I don´t understand your question, but if you are refering to the "turqoise" WP, it´s in the ROM, Windows directory and it´s one of the called "stwater" image files (Default_stwater_480_800.gif & Default_stwater_800_480.gif)
Regarding taskbar and softkeybar, this will depend on the theme you´re using.
If you are using Artemis Greeen Black, then the files are the following:
Taskbar: "art_gb_Taskbar.png", "HTCBlack_taskbar.png"
Softkey: "art_gb_SKBackground.png", "art_gb_SKButton.png", "art_gb_SKButtonDisabled.png", "art_gb_SKButtonSelected.png" and also one "xyz_softkeybar.png" depending on the last theme used (probably "classicblue_softkeybar.png").
For both you can also check in the registry to see which files are beeing used:
1. HKCU\software\Microsoft\Today\TaskBar\TaskBarThemeImage
2. HKCU\software\Microsoft\Today\Softkeybar\SoftkeyBarThemeImage
