do you mean landscape and portrait!!!

I do these things:
Run P_Generic_Conn_Settings.CAB and P_Other_Conn_Settings.CAB in \extended_rom\ to install T-Mobile USA connection settings. These CABs are left in extended rom by install of official T-Mobile 2.26 WM5 prior to installing WM6 build.
Set Button 1 to <Start Menu>
Set Word Completion to suggest after 2 letters, suggest 4 words and not add a space after the word.
Set Ring type to "Vibrate and ring"
Enable Start Menu sounds with .reg file
Change the DeviceID
Set Backlight to brightest setting
Set Battery power to turn off backlight after 1 min and turn on when a button or screen is pressed.
Set External power to tun off backlight after 4 min and turn on when a button or screen is pressed.
Set to Display the clock on the title bar in all programs
Disable Microphone AGC
Set Battery power to turn off device after 2 min.
Set External power to tun off device after 5 min.
Set Regional settings to English (United States)
Set Time style to h:mm:ss tt (instead of hh:mm:ss tt)
Enable ClearType
Set Left Soft Key to "Outlook" to launch "\Windows\tmail.exe"
Configure PIE for "Fit To Screen" and Text Size = "Smaller"
Configure Camera to save to Storage Card, Disable Shutter Sound and don't Apply "Date and time stamp". Set Photo capture size to 1.3M (1280x1024)

spbDiary - restore backed up settings from SD card
IM+ - configure ICQ/MSN/AIM accounts
Remote Desktop add-on (if not included)
Mocha VNC
Live Search
Remove Init_Tray.lnk from \Windows\Startup and other startup tray icons I don't use like Dr.Yar's, Battery Status, etc.
Configure Today screen and theme/background
Configure Menus to show the Apps I use (Apps installed + Internet Sharing and Total Commander)
Copy Favorites from SD card to \Windows\Favorites
Restore contacts using PIM Backup
Setup Exchange server/DirectPush options and sync
Configure my alarms that I use to wake up each morning including custom Alarm sound.

Set Button 1 to <Start Menu> ( Done via Start/Settings/Buttons. On my MDA, it's the hardware button on the top left of the screen with the envelope picture on it.)
Change the DeviceID - I change it to <my name>Phone, but this is not that important... just listing ALL my steps
As for the Apps, I have the cabs on my SD card and they don't take that long to install. Mocha VNC requires a Windows installer so I have no CAB for it.
I also forgot about MS Voice Command - I install that as well.
T-Mobile cabs are attached

a cab for IE Cache to SD
I know you have this covered in your rom but I allways have to change the values of the cache and cookies and history to save to SD when I install a new Rom.
also if you have it change the value in the email section to save attachment to SD also would be great
Thank you

how to turn on led for new mms

Does anyone know the registry key to make the orange led blink like when you missed a call for new mmsl?
It's grayed out in the settings-> sound & notifications-> notifications tab.
Thanks
HKCU>controlpanel>notifications>{long names} search for the key with th default value (Messaging: New MMS) it starts with {c34655........} in my device & i dont know if its the same
now change the following:
duration >>> set it as u like
options >>> chane 1 to 4
i think that will do
thanx for pointing out how this works. The key is indeed HKCU>controlpanel>notifications>{c34655........}
options is 9 by default. I looked at the new text key {a877d65b........} and the options id set to 15 so I'll change it to that. I use total commander to regedit but don't like it that it doesn't show the value of the key so I'll install a new regeditor tomorrow and change it.
thanx for the reply

WM6.5 - Disable Notifications Left Softkey for SMS/Email/Missed Call/Voicemail?

I have the "Display Message On Screen" unchecked for each of these, but the left softkey still changes to "Notifications" when I have one of these. I would like to disable that.
When I use Manila, it appears to be disabled, but I also know it uses its own reg keys for those softkeys and not the built-in Windows soft keys.
When I use Titanium, I don't need that notification message since I can tap in Titanium to get the message.
I just think its kinda redundant and I'm not sure why Microsoft wants both.
Nobody has any ideas?
I found notification settings under HKLM\System\State\Shell\Notifications.
There are 3 keys in this tree that I think control the display of the Today SK.
I haven't played with the registries but possibly setting Active to "0" would stop the notifications.

Active is a key, not a value you can change (like a string, dword, etc).

Sorry, mine shows Reg_DWORD = 1
I did some research and found that for missed calls (the other types of notifications don't really bother me) one can delete - with resident Mortscript for example - the following reg keys/values (while the notification is active):
HKLM\System\State\Notifications\Active\
"CLSID={A877D660-239C-47A7-9304-0D347F580408}"
and
HKLM\System\State\Notifications\{A877D660-239C-47A7-9304-0D347F580408}\
This effectively removes the "Notification" from left soft key, but leaves the taskbar icon (and skin items / alerts for Phonealarm) intact - which is perfect to my mind.
Using Vodafone v1520 (rebranded Asus P550) with stock WM 6.0 ROM.

TocuhFlo 3D Disable Text Sent Notification

I have a HTC Touch Pro 2 from Verizon with all OEM software still. It is running TouchFlo 3D front end on it. Every time i send a text message the notification pops up saying the message was sent. This is annoying bc it wont let me type anything else till it goes. The notification comes up in a window in the center of the screen and it looks like its from windows mobile not from the touchflo. I look through all the setting and changed tons of things and nothing, i went into the registry and it was already set to disable it but it is still there. I think the touchflo is triggering it even though windows says not to.
does any one no how to turn this off?
Yh,
Search for these two apps here at XDA and install:
netcf3.5 & advanced config 3.3 (install in that order). Once these have been installed go in to advanced config, where you will find a setting to disable sent notifications.
If you merely wish to hide them, you should be able to go to sounds/notifications and untick display message on screen for sent text (although doesnt always do it)
great program! has a lot of nice options that i like.... but all the setting to disable the notification are already set to disable... grrr
i think the touchflo software is somehow overriding the windows setting and making it come up.
ok, i guess its not the touchflo... i closed out of touchflo, rebooted and sent a message and it still gives me the notification, even though all setting say not to and reg setting say not to
Ok i figured it out. When I was searching around i kept coming across this:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox
* Click on Inbox and select Edit -> New Key
* Name the New Key as “Settings“
* Click on “Settings” and select Edit -> New String Value
* On “Value name:“, enter SMSNoSentMsg and in “Value data“, enter 1
* Soft reset your Windows Mobile device and test it with one SMS, and you will notice that the SMS Sent bubble is being disabled
Now when I went to that registry I was already there and already set to "1". The problem I finally found was that it was set as a DWORD and I had to delete it and rewrite it as a STRING. Problem Solved.

Essential tweaks for Sprint Touch Pro 2 Stock 6.1 ROM (.reg Files)

Here are what I consider essential tweaks for Sprint (probably other carriers as well) Touch Pro 2 Stock 6.1 ROM. I created .reg files which are registry scripts to change values, just like PC Windows. You can open these in notepad and see what is being done, then do it yourself, or associate the .reg extension with TaskMgr >=3.1 using a file manager such as Total Commander. Then all you have to do is run the reg file from the file manager.
The reg files have both a do and undo included for each task. Files marked with "DEF" are the original default settings. Files marked with "Reboot" require a soft reset to take effect.
TaskMgr (older versions not compatible with removing reg keys - get >=3.1)
http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm
Total Commander
http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm
Reg Files:
attached
Includes:
HTC Keep Wifi On When Unattened On
Keeps the WiFi radio active even after the device goes to sleep.
HTC Notification Manager Off
Restore task bar icons so you can click on battery, etc.
HTC Notification Enhancement Off
Allows you to have regular windows alerts which include snooze instead of pretty HTC alerts.
Keyboard Rotation Off
Disable screen orientation change when the keyboard is slid out. I only use this on occasion.
Manila Start Menu Off
Make the start menu small in landscape orientation, and re-enable Programs and Settings on the start menu.
Sensor Rotate Off
Disable rotating of the screen when the orientation of the phone changes.
Sensor Rotate Opera Off
Even if you disable sensor rotate Opera will still do it, use this to disable.
SMS Sent Notification Off
I can't believe it was the default to notify you every time you sent a txt, disable it with this.
SMS Time Stamp Fix 2016 On
Uses phone's date for SMS receive date instead of the carrier's date which for some reason likes to be 2016 ever since the beginning of the year.
Have you seen this one?
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=88640
Actually that's the reason I did what I did. It looks like that fixes many issues, but many I don't need fixed. I'm under the impression it's an all or nothing deal? I prefer individual reg files to turn things on and off at will, and they are great to share since the user can be sure what is happening and customize if necessary.

[Htc Explorer/Pico][Tips And Tricks]

These are General Tips and Tricks,.for advanced level Tips,Tricks, how to root etc go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1565176
INTRODUCING TIPS AND TRICKS!!
Access the scientific calculator
To access the scientific calculator, rotate
the phone to landscape mode.
The calculator will change to a scientific
one.
End a phone call by pressing the Power button
Rather than having to locate the hang up
icon on the screen after each call, you can
quickly end a call by pressing the Power
button. It will not turn off the screen
though.
To enable this, go to Settings - Accessibility
- Power button ends call.
Note: Depending on which firmware you
are running, you may need to update your
firmware to see this feature.
Tether your laptop or computer to your phone
You can tether your computer or laptop to
your phone so that the PC uses the
phone's 3G or 4G connection.
To do this, connect the phone to your PC
via USB cable. If a screen appears saying
Choose a connection type, then select USB
tethering and you should be able to start
surfing straight away. If it doesn't then
press the Home key to go into normal
mode. Then go to Menu - Settings -
Wireless and network - Tethering and
portable hotspots. Then tick USB tethering.
Your computer should then install the
relevant drivers. To test, simply open your
browser and start surfing.
Another alternative if the above doesn't
work is to use an App called PdaNet.
Before you install this App, you will need to
go to Menu - Settings - Applications -
Development. Then tick the option which
says USB Debugging. Then download both
the App and the software for your
computer. Once they are both installed run
PdaNet on your laptop and then on your
phone. Follow any other instructions to
complete the process.
Warning: Some carriers will tell you that
tethering is not allowed in their contract.
You should still be able to use the above
techniques, but be aware that your carrier
may not be happy. Also, if you are not on
an unlimited data plan, be sure you do not
use too much data through your laptop or
computer as you may incur extra charges.
Accents and special characters
If you want to type non-English letters (eg
those with an accent), long-press on the
relevant letter. A list of options will appear
for you to select
Add email or phone number from text
To add an email or phone number to your
contacts from a text message, you can
long-press on the email / phone number.
Then select Add to contacts.
Adding pauses when dialling
To add pauses when dialing numbers, or
storing numbers in your contacts, then
insert a comma ( , ) when entering the
number.
This will pause the dialling for about 2
seconds.
Allow swear words in voice recognition
To allow swear words in voice recognition,
go to Settings - Voice input & output -
Voice recognition settings. Then untick
Block offensive words.
By default, the phone will actually
recognise swear words, but will insert x's
instead of the word.
Change your default font(root required, read line on top)
To change your default font, you need to
download a third-party app because
Android does not have a built-in way of
changing fonts
There are two good Apps that allow you to
change fonts:
Font Changer - There is a free version and a
paid version. The paid version allows you to
change the screen density and allows you
to preview the font. You can also change a
few other options.
Custom ringtones, alarms, sms notifications
To use custom ringtones for your phone
ringtone, your alarm or your text message
notification, simply copy an MP3 file to one
of the following folders:
/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
/sdcard/media/audio/alarms
/sdcard/media/audio/notifications
If they don't already exist, then create a
new folder.
The file will then show up when you want
to change your ringtones.
For Ringtones go to Settings - Sound -
Phone ringtone
For Text Messages go to - Settings - Sound
- Notification ringtone
For Alarm, set the sound when you add a
new alarm
Increase Internal Memory

or-if u have adb in pc then,
code:
adb shell

Help, I have forgotten my unlock pattern
If you have forgotten your custom unlock
pattern, then don't panic.
After 5 unsuccessful tries a button should
appear saying 'Forgot pattern'. Press this
and you will be asked to enter your Gmail
username/password.
The phone will then ask for a new unlock
pattern. If you don't have a Gmail account,
then you might have to either call your
carrier or factory reset your phone:
1.Take out the battery
2.Press the volume down button+power to boot in recovery mode
3.scroll using volume keys
4.Scroll to factory reset and press power button
5.Done
