[Help] Selective enabling of caller ID service, possible?

Using Phone/Options/Services/Caller ID/Get Settings (bit buried, isn't it) it is possible to
- show own caller ID to everyone;
- show own caller ID to no one;
- show own caller ID only to callee from own contacts.
Does anyone know a easier/shorter way to access this setting?
Would not be nice to have an utility to select whether to show caller ID or not for every contact?

Hide Caller ID toggle?

Okay, we have times when we want to hide our caller's ID, we don't want our number to be noticed by the call receiving party! Yet it is so much to go through, first hitting the phone button, clicking the options, selecting caller ID, hitting the get settings, and now select provide my caller ID to "NO ONE". Took me like forever, and now I have to select the person's number from the phone book, if I still remember who I was trying to call! LOL
So I know there got to be a way!, Create a Caller ID's toggle, hit it to show or hide caller ID, simply and then select the number you want to dial and you can hide your caller ID.
Anything like that? I know I used to have the simmon's phone back in the days, when I needed to hide a caller's ID, I would just hold the 8 key and it would hide the caller's ID. Now the toggle was assigned to the 8# key, but I think if that is too much to do, why not just have a toggle, just as we have it for the bluetooth or other phone's options.
Is it possible?
Dial *67 and your # not a good enough work around? You can always add *67 to specific #'s you call regularly to not see your callerid.
there is also an option to hide your # when calling someone who is not in your address book
hi, at least in europe you can use this codes to switch the 'CLIR' function of your mobile:
*31# submits your number to the called party on for all calls.
#31# submits your number to the called party off for all calls.
*#31# show the current 'CLIR' state
*31#number to call submits your number to the called party on only for the next call.
#31#number to call submits your number to the called party off only for the next call.
maybe this works for your network also.
Thanks, *67 could be an easy way...but supposed you have a phone number on your PhoneBOOK that just has to be blocked once? And you are driving? and you don't have a pen...some people here are just stupid...I already know that...I am looking for a CALLER ID TOGGLE, if you don't know anything just don't be smart and post anything.

[Q] How To Call From Hidden Caller ID To New Numbers?

Good day. Sometimes when calling new numbers, you don't want them to see your number. I would like to know how to automatically hide your phone's number when calling new numbers and then automatically switching back (if one desires) so your number gets shown.
Does Android have this functionality or there is an app for this?
Thanks.
when you call a number user in front of the number #31# and you will call with hidden call id.
when use #31# you will call with hidden id, when you don't use you call normaly/

Click to collapse
Thanks, but i was wondering if there is an instant "touch solution" where you simply pull up contact and choose option to call from hidden number or when you call first time new number.
Where did you learn about #31# by the way?
I don't remember but you can find many usefull information about this on google/wiki.
i.e code for hidden calls or something like that!

Call Management App - Hide for calls not in contacts

Hi Guys,
I know there is a simple solution of entering 141+number in the UK to hide your caller ID. I am looking for an app that checks the number you are calling, if the number is in your contacts list - leave the caller ID visible, alternatively, if the number is not in your contacts list, hide the caller ID so you call as "unknown".
I get fed up calling someone once, and then have them take my number and use and abuse it!
No matter what I do though, I cannot find an app that does it. all I can find is "turn caller ID on or off" as a global level.
Thanks
James

Dev Question Regarding Call and SMS Blocking Apps Spam

Wondering if any developers here can confirm the following:
I know the native Phone app and other Call apps have the ability to allow you to block numbers in which case the call doesn't ring through.
I thought like a couple years ago I read that's not the case with SMS apps. They can 'hide' the number from your SMS messages list but you'll still get the notification at the time the SMS is received. Is this true for all SMS apps for Android 11 or later or can they actually prevent notifications of received messages from numbers you block?
My second question is, on virtually all Phone / Call apps, you'll see the Caller ID Name for incoming calls (where the name isn't blocked, or the number isn't in your Contact list). I get semi-frequent scam/sales calls and they are all from numbers that no person or company name comes up, only the phone number. Since the Caller ID name is displayed when there is one, I would assume the Android Call apps have access to this data value.
Yet, all call blocking features I've seen in all apps I've tried, only have the ability to manually block the number, or, enable a setting to block all calls from numbers not in your Contact list. I'm just flabbergasted that none of these apps also have the option to "Block all calls with no Caller ID Name that are not in your contact list." If the Caller ID Name value comes across as the phone number itself, the app can easily see that it matches or that there are no letters in the Caller ID Name and block it. The only reason I can think of that this type of blocking feature isn't available in a single call app is that for some reason the Caller ID Name is displayed by the system, not the app, and the app doesn't have the ability to read the Caller ID Name Value? I would be really surprised if that were the case as it doesn't make sense that the app displays it but can't perform any feature based on the Caller ID Name value???
