I have upgrade the IPL to 2.20 (G4), my SPL is kept to 2.15. I'm using PDAVIet 5c.
I'm interested to know if my device is CID locked and how can I unlock it?
I'm also interested to upgrade SPL to 2.20 where is it? I can't find it in the forum. Should I take any consideration to upgrade it if my device is CID locked?

If you have G4 for CID unlock - http://www.imei-check.co.uk it will cost you +-30€. (They unlocked my G4 S200 Vodafone Spain). And for another info search wiki

How can I tell if my phone is cid-locked, I would really like to change the ROM without the risk of bricking it. Has anyone one tried lokiwiz to cidunlock their phone? any advice would be appreciated. BTW I bought the phone from gray market in Hong Kong and is Vodafone branded, do you think it would be locked?
It came preloaded with Dopod Rom, but I don't like it that much. Also what is the best radio rom, the dopod radio rom is a bit weak.

you are on G4, so yes you are still CID locked.
Normally when you flash your rom you will know imediately when it try to update.

so should I try to flash a rom and see what happens? if it goes through without an error it is cid unlocked? if an error pops up it is locked? Should I try this or should I avoid the risks? Any ROM suggestions? Qtek maybe?
Since your phone is G4 chip, i'm pretty sure you are CID locked. Dont worry about the CID locking for now, GOOD ROMS outthere been using different programs to get around CID locking problem. I suggest you can start with PDAMobiz rom from the other thread. REMEMBER USE G4 program not G3 or other programs. or look for any rom that has NoVender CID in the name.
MDA VARIO II with Dopod WM6
I recently bought Tmobile MDA Vario ii with Dopod Wm6. When it boots it shows dopod sign so I think it is dopod. The ROM is 3.54.707.3.
I want to upgrade to Wm6.1 but Tmobile has only official 3.60.xx rom presently available for download. Can I directly flash any Hermis compatible ROM on MDA Vario II.?
Since it has Dopod WM6 the CID lock must have been diabled I suppose. Am I right? and should I directly flash any HERMIS official or extended ROM? what are your suggestions Thanks

I don't know enough about the Hermes and flashing to be certain, but I think you'll need to HardSPL (which bypasses bootloader CID checks) before flashing a ROM.
Take a look at the Hermes sub fora before doing anything though...

Yes! You could have used Search within this forum and would stepped over plenty of answers to this question. Also mentioned in the WIKI. Even 3 days ago someone asked the same question and opened a new thread for that, we gave him the same reply.

G4, and if you haven't touched it then it's definately CID locked and stays CID locked until someone releases a free possibility to have these devices unlocked.
I believe my G4 M600 is both Sim unlocked and CID unlocked, am I incorrect in thinking this as I can install other roms on this list?

No there is no free public available software to CID unlock a G4 yet. so be careful what you tell other people, they could take such assumptions for real and brick their phones.
Your G4 will most probably be not unlocked. Unless you used a paid service online to unlock it, and if you have done that you are sure to know!

High IPL/SPL Version wins! You cant downgrade!
Hi wg132,
You can downgrade if your device is a G3.
Check if your IPL/SPL end with x.xx.0000 (x.xx.0001 are G4)
Firstly, you need to CID unlock your device by flashing rom using
pdamobiz.com_downgrade_and_unlockcid rom.rar
(Please note that this rom is not usable and serve only to unlock CID)
You can then downgrade your SPL to 2.15 using
RUU_Prophet_2151327_21513121_021921_DOP_ASIA_WWE_S hip-NoVendorID.zip
I don't have the links to the above files. You need to search for them yourself. Hope this helps.

Why do you need to downgrade SPL 2.20? Is there any specific problem with that SPL? so far my SPL 2.20 is working well with WM6 and WM5. I wouldnt touch IPL and or upgrade SPL to 3.xx

What is IPL and SPL?

if i have 3.08 can i do this?
no ... higher version number wins and the next ... spl 3.08 is charmer ... it means no prophet spl can flashed back!
can i flash it with another charmer?
uhm ... if you want brick/damage your device ... sure
this are a modded spl to run on prophet! highest prophet spl is version 2.58 and only for g4. nobody have uploaded in the moment!

I need some help / steps to update my Wizard to WM6 (or 6.1)
I tried with diferent ROMs, i followed the differrent guides, but something strange is happening.
After installing the ROM, everithing seems ok, the device restarts, but ... i still have the WM5!!!
What i missed? I have IPL/SPL 2.18, unlocked phone.
Some guidelines?

I missunderstood that CID lock is different from SIM lock. No i undestand what's happening.
The problem thta i have now is using WST. I tried to unlock CID, but it says that i have to downgrade SPL to 1.06 to unlock CID (because is write protected)
So, corret me if i'm wrong, i have to
Downgrade SPL to 1.06
Unlock CID
Upgrade SPL to 2.xxx
Install WM6 ROM
It's correct?

YUP ! thats correct.First downgrade to IPL/SPL 1.xx to CID unlock,than upgrade to 2.xx for upgrading to wm6 or 6.1 ,follow this guide :-

use button's rom to downgrade to 1.05 and make sure both IPL/SPL are 1.05 sometimes u have to do it twice to get to this state..
then unlock it both supercid and sim
then u can update to WWE 2.26 as this is the most solid base..
