Hello. I have the WM6PRO Business rom in my universal and it works just fine.
When I form a new phone number the first 3 numbers appears inside the () My SIP provider doesn't accept numbers inside the () or with - between them. how can disable this on my phone?
thanks
Check to make sure you have the correct regional settings/timezone set.
Thanks, numbers are without () but sip still doesn't work. I use free.fr as default sip provider and anyother voip software works with it.
any idea what to do?

I am really busy trying to figure out what CAB is what for to be able to complete my extended rom indexing project, but there are some files I am just not sure about enoough to be able to categorise them
so if you all could look at the files and let me know if you know what it is, that would be great, it would benefit us all. It uses to much of my time as it is, so I could use the help

thx
had a look at the BA section
Default_BA_Version_122.CAB
All files that are Version_XXX are only there to change the reg entgry for the version number and set them to a value.
as in:
BA_Version_122.CAB = Set Extended Rom version number to 1.22.126
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\3rdversion] "MSYSTEM"="1.22.162 WWE"
To find out what a cab does you need to extract it using a appl like cab manager which can be found on:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_ERK_Tools
You need to be aware of the fact that cabs nothing more than a application installer, some are retail and some are given to us be our operators.
I feel you should not try to index retail versions as these change and soon become out of date.
My best guess:
Default_Enroller_enhance_1.CAB = this is or could be a operator cab that will set up the e-mail settings for that operator.
BA_OEM_PA_STK.sa.CAB = Patch for the stk.exe file, seen this is the BA kitchen.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_ERK_Patches_122
VoiceServices_PPC.ARMV4.CAB = looks like a retail package
YetiCompactClient1.0.0.9.cab = yeti application seen in one of the 1.3x versions, something to due about trafic
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=120966#120966
BA_Panel_Detect.exe = think this is appl that checks the status of input of the screen when executed in config.txt
BTPSKeyUpdate_003.exe : BlueTooth Pairing Security update
xmailInstaller2003.PPC_ARM_2003.CAB : "real-time access to your work emails, calendar and contacts on your xda, O2 mobile or PC"
see : http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Himalaya Rom 1.72 comparison
For the others I can make only guesses :
Cproghook : that is Mamaichs extra contact button on the phone ?
O2* : Customisation and MMS/GPRS settings ?
I have all my contacts showing their country code with the plus sign for their country code such as +44, +61, etc
When I am in Thailand and I want to call someone in Australia - I need to go look up his number in the contacts and the copy&paste (or memorize) into the dialer with the proper international dialing prefix 001, 009 or 007
It is a pain the arse, would there be a way where I could tell my phone to just parse the plus sign "+" as 001, 011 or 007? Thing is when I'm in Thailand the prefix is most of the time 009 but it is not the same when I am in Canada or Australia... so I can't put it in my contact card. (or perhaps I could make several entry for them for each prefix).
Is there an automated solution or any tips someone would like to share?
Hmm, the + is simply a shortcode for 00, which is the international calling prefix, so my number in the UK starts with 07966... and the international format is +447966...
I can call + numbers in my phone from, and to Germany, Ireland, France, and Spain with no problems.
Is Thailand not using the standard 00+Country Code+STD (minus leading 0)+Local Number format then?
when I am in Thailand (using DTAC), they use the + format just fine. When I want to call my friends in the USA I call +1-808-xxx-xxxx, and when I call people in Thailand I use +66x-xxx-xxxx.
The + works in Thailand (parsed as 001 not 00), but CAT (Communication Authorithy of Thailand) offers other prefix such as 009 that routes the call through VOIP which is significantly cheaper.
00 doesn't work in Thailand. It is 001. But the carrier interprets the + as 001
For example, if I want to call the US this will not work 00 1 206-555-1212. I need to be doing 001 1 206-555-1212 or alternatively +1 206 555-1212.
I just wish there would be a dialer that would allow me to tell him to change the + to whichever prefix depending on which Country I am at the time.
Ok so we got to the bottom of it. + is in fact the same as 00 but in Thailand thats normal calls, and you want voip routed calls.
Its added functionality on their network I'm afraid, the GSM standard will only use + as 00, and they interpret that as 001 for calls routed over the traditional network.
I think the only way to do it and keep your sanity would be to create a new number for each contact you would want to call using the 009 prefix, specifically to call from Thailand, and leave all the others with the +.
+ = International Exit Code.
This mean that in many places "00" is not the exit for international calls.
In US it is "011", Thailand "001", Russia "09" ect. It is shortcut and you do not have to memorize all codes. Of course + is normal exit not voip, to use voip you have to know local specific, in this case 009
Clear?

THis is correct. Different network operators - both fixed and mobile - will have different access codes for international and national access.
Using + will usually take you through to your default phone operator's most expensive IDD plan (and hence other companies have other prefixes which can also be used for IDD calls).
The O2 dial wizard (search for it on the forum, or download it from the http://www.seeo2.com/ site) has a feature which allows replacing the international prefix + with a dial code of your choice. It is possible to set up multiple codes (for different networks, calling cards etc.) through its configuration options. Once installed, from within the phone application, choose Tools -> O2 Dial Wizard. When a number is dialled, or retrieved from the phone list using the search utility that comes with the progam, or, when a number is manually entered, click the little icon of a phone handset with a magic wand. This will replace the + with the predefined prefix of your choice.
Try this

You may also save the frequently used prefixes (such as IDD, IP prefix) into a pre-stored prefix list.
Sorry for bringing up this 2 year old topic, but since it wasn't answered I like to check if there is any news.
My provider fixes + to 001 - but I like to change + to 1686 (or whatever). How can I do that?
Hello.
First I want to say thank you to everybody, because I learned so much with this forum, and specially to all "ROM cookers".
Because I don't know very much about ROM cooking I want to ask if it is possible to change the network name that appears on the HTC Universal, because it is an old name, it shows as "UMTS Xfera" and the comercial name for that network is "Yoigo". I don't know if it so much work or if I can do it myself, but I don't know which file I should change.
And one more thing, I have been looking to create a .CAB file with my operator settings without luck because I only get some of the settings (I used a .CAB file for an other operator changing the settings) but no the full configuration, is there a "how to" to create the file?
Thank you in advance.
Regards.
yes, i just cant remember, google it.
Thank you Midget_1990, after a while I found how to modify it, you have to add an entry to the registry with the operator and network code (CCCOO) and the name you want to be shown on HKLM/Software/Microsoft/RIL/OperatorNames.
I have posted it here for anyone who needs it.
I will continue looking for a CAB file with GPRS & MMS settings for my operator.
Regards.
Ok so How you do it ?
Here you have the instructions (from Modaco Wiki):
-----------------------------
Customize operator's name
To show specified operator name set
HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting\ONSDisplayRule=0 (DWORD decimal)
And then at
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\RIL\Operator Names
add the code and the name to display. The value is 5 digits "CCCOO", where CCC is 3-digits country code, and OO is 2-digits operator's code. For example:
"25099"="BEE LINE"
For country and network code, go to wikipidea for [mobile country code|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Listofmobilecountrycodes] and [network code|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MobileNetworkCode]
To show operator name based on the SIM card used (eg for cases where dual SIM adapter are used), set
HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting\ONSDisplayRule=1 (DWORD decimal)
For my dual-SIM adaptor, when I switch between SIMs, the phone with default settings showed always one and the same name, until I reboot the device. Then, it was not able to retrieve operator's name from one of the SIM cards I use. Probably it is an adaptor fault. But anyway, after I changed ONSDisplayRule to 0 and set more up-to-date names for operators that I use, I now always see the name of the operator of the chosen SIM.

Hello every one,
Using different cabs and advices from this forum, I managed to get using the native internet calling feature of my device.
I'm able to make calls, but something is still bothering me with the dialling process: I have to re-enter the entire phone number that I want to call before every call I place since my sip provider (Voipbuster) requires that the number starts with (00) plus the (international area code) while all my numbers in contact are stored like (+) plus (international area code).
Can any one helps me out with an Ipdialplan.xml model, that fixes this issue?
Of course, it should works no matter the total amount of digits the contact number includes. 11, 12 etc.
Thanks in advance.

You can also have a look on my post, with an example :

The target of the software is to gather some network info remotely avoiding any notification to the target mobile user and not installing any software in the target mobile.
Let me explain the idea in detail. First of all, we know that if we press *#06# then we can see the IMEI number of the set. So, there might be some secret way or code so that anybody can get the IMEI number of any mobile set with the help of just target mobile number.
That was just an example. However, there are some system of ping to check the reachability in IP network. In GSM network also there should be some secret code by which ping, trace route targeting a mobile number is possible. By these, the availability of the target can be confirmed. By the trace route result, we can obtain the path Of the pong reply or ping, present cell id. The individual cell ID also carries the name of the area in Unicode which is displayed in many sets optionally. That text may also be obtained from that. Actually, we want to do this by developing and installing an android software. In that car, we need to know the coding, programming language and special DLL or header that has to be called for this purpose.
2. Is there any way to call or search IMEI in any mobile network? Is it possible to find out the mobile number by inquiring with IMEI number from any mobile?
3. There is a way to configure a GSM modem with a cloned SIM may be so that the target mobile's all traffics including voice and SMS, may be data also. By default, all SIM's destination priority setting is 0. In the case, the modem has the higher priority so that at first the traffics reach there, modem software captures and records the traffic and then throws again to the target device. It's clear that here, the modem acts in transparent mode so that the target do not feel anything as well as it does not catch eyes of operators. We want to do this.
As here, I'm throwing the complete requirement along with technical description. Please let me know any further requirement.
