Internet Calling? - HTC Tornado

Hi
I have never used any form of internet calling.
How can I set up my SPV C600 to use internet calling?
I am using Andots PEE of WM6
Can this be done via usb or preferably Bluetooth.
Also what providers will it work with ie Skype and or SIP
Any help with this will be graciously received.

Please use the search function, it can be done by editing the xml file

I did try a quick search, but the term internet calling returned loads of results.
I couldn't see anything that actually referred to the SPV C600 or Tornado devices

Cause the configuration is not device specific

it is fake function!

how could you be sure you had used it to call around on internet UMA call instead of GSM network ?

Because I have no more credit on my prepaid GSM

Karhoe, I really respect you for your great tutorial and other helpful stuff, but I don't understand why people waste bandwidth to say "the answer's out there, I know, so go find it yourself."
If you're not going to give an immediately useful answer wouldn't it be easier just to leave him to his own devices?
I might not feel so strongly about this if we had more FAQs, stickies or relevant information in the wiki, but we don't. And even for those of us who aren't clueless when it comes to devising search terms or expressions, this site's search script is not the best I've ever met so I'm not as inclined to assume that people aren't looking before they post questions.

{SOLVED} How to configure VoIP/SIP client in WM6.
Another (very) good thread from the Tornado forum.
Here's a post with a cab file and a link to the same place my first link goes to.

I should also add that when a person is asking/talking about "internet calling" he or she should really be more clear.
Are we talking VoIP or SIP? Do you already have a service you subscribe to? (The answer to this second question emphasises the importance of the first question.)

Hi Exitao
Thanks for your helpful links
At the moment I'm not subscribed to any services.
I will have a good read through and then take it from there.
Once again
Thank You

NP. Please post back in this thread and let us know how you get things working.
Your trial and error can save others time. ;-)

Softwares needed please

Hi!
Am new to Windows mobile and this is my first post. I have spent quite some time going through various forums, but have still not managed to get the following softwares.
Any help would be much appreciated.
The softwares that I am looking out for should be compatible for the Cingular 8125 (WM5).
1) Software that hides folders using a pasword without any encryption
2) Software that would turn off the phone totally. I have seen softwares that turn off the pda, but the phone still remains on.
In addition, if there is a function of being able to put on the phone on & off at pre-determined times, that would be great. I had a software called "Phone Technician" that used to work on my Treo really well.
3) Software that requires a password to launch an application
Looking forward to your help ...
Thanks & regards,
Amit
sounds like you need to do some searching

Read my software reviews, I cross-post them all into this forum. In them, I also elaborate on the 8125 compatibility.
Who's asking for warez links???

I am not aksing fo warez links. All I want are the names of the softwares, so that I can try them and buy them if they are good. Or, if they are any freeware softwares that do the job, that's great.
Take care & thanks for your replies ...
Thanks!

Can't You read some insted write another thread ??
Internet Calling needs to be provisionned with the right XML file (usually, but not necessarily) pushed OTA by your operator to your device.

Can you write English properly?
eluth thanks for the info, any tut on how to set it up?
I know how to read and write very well in the English language. I suggest you learn how to use a forum before popping off at the mouth about someone's English. There is another thread in this sub-forum dedicated to enabling this feature.
you guys are helpful..NOT. Anyhow when I searched Internet Calling the thread I found with the information NOW, wasn't coming up then.

Directory Assistance / 411

I've been looking into Directory Assistance applications for WM, the only thing I've seen out there is Handmark Express for a monthly fee.... I can always use the internet to search but its a pain in the butt... Has anyone here designed a GUI that would use predefined fields to pull information off the internet like www.superpages.com or www.switchboard.com anything. I thought this would be a huge program request from people, but havent seen it anywhere. Anyone seen or developed anything like this.
Thanks,
Shane

Yeah I've used that a lot before, but I'm talking about a piece of software that searches the internet from the phone to lookup addresses, and numbers. Not just a 411 directory assistance service, there used to be an old 411 prog out there, no Handmark has Express for like $7/month.... I'm looking for something like that, but not monthly.
Second result doing a google search.
Give it a try and see how it works.
*edit* As an added bonus, I found something that i just tried out and it works quite nicely. See attached.
This http://www.telepages.net/ is exactly what you're looking for. Can't wait for it to be released. From the maker of DA for PalmOS.

i can vouch for this i use it all the time!!! the only downside is u have to sit and listen to dumb ads before u even get to say ur listing

I have tried a Few diffrent roms, and i want to know...

Some if not MOST dont allow voice dialing. most of the roms i have used make me prerecord the name so it can understand when i ask to call that name. but i have used a few also that DONT require this. is there any way to get this program separate?

Okay, i will begin with what is wrong, and then answer your question.
Please do not:
1) Start threads about software in the ROM Development forum
2) Please do not start threads when you are looking for software
3) Please search for the answers before you post.
4) Please post in existing threads, such as a rom that had the feature you were looking for. I'm sure someone there could tell you what it was called, and then you could have searched for it.
Answer:
I believe you're talking about MSVC aka Microsoft Voice Command, which is not available as a separate download at this time, because it has not been released in an official rom yet. At least that is my understanding. I recommend you look for a rom that has it if you would like that feature. Most chef's will lists it as one of the included apps in their first post.
Thank you. thread is blocked

The only one I've used is Microsoft Voice Command, with that you just hit the button and say 'dial (whomever the name is in your phonebook)' and it will read the name to confirm. You say 'yes' and it dials. There is no need for pre-programming of contact names as the synthesiser is intelligent enough to work them out itself based on your contact list.

[PROJ] Morphing Voice during phone call

Development thread for a software method to morph your voice during a phone call
The idea is to develop a software method which let's you morph your voice during a phone call. There are many ways to achieve this and I am amenable to suggestions.
Since I was not able to find any API which let's you configure the voice or the stream from the microphone or something similar I came up with the idea to write a driver for the microphone, which would give me the ability to change my voice directly within it, but after some research it was clear to me that it can't be that easy.
Updates:
05.05.2010 - Microphone driver solution died. Researching for a new way...
Windows Mobile doesn't seem to have any influence on the microphone during a phone call. Deeper research about the hardware of the phone is necessary (processors, DSP/MDSP,....).
HELP IS APPRECIATED AND ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME
I will update this thread as some news appear.
Please write your suggestions and your ideas directly as post in this thread.
Good idea !
good luck , i'll watch this thread
You'll get a better response in this forum...

You've posted in a HD2 specific forum, but that one is specific to Windows Mobile software development.
Device specific
The reason why I posted it here is that I am going to develop the driver on this device (HD2 Leo) and because the only solution so far i figured out is developing a driver, which is device specific.
good idea, i have been after an app similar to the "i am t-pain" (autotune)app from iphone
please can you use autotune?
God speed to you good sir!

Fair enough, but surely it wouldn't be a device specific driver to do this? Never mind.
This will be great for extortions. The question is whether we can find a way to disgiuse the phone's ID and location (which can be found using cellular triangulation) otherwise we have achieved nothing here.
lol this would be a fun one... hopefully you can work some magic and create a special treat for us hd2 users

Autotune is an app for iphone, which obviously can't help us here.
In addition autotune doesn't morph your voice during a phone call.
The main problem here is not the morphing itself (such apps already exist for WinMo), but the fact that it needs to be done while you make an active call.

Live morphing during a active phone call would be nice..
There is a software name Voice Twister for Windows mobile which can do live morphing but not during active phone calls..
