Question about screen lock on TNT 4.0 - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Well this is my first post, I've had the phone a day now, read everything and successfully upgraded to the TNT 4.0 Pro rom with 2.19.11 radio.
First of all many thanks to everyone here who made that possible, I am new to the darkside M$ computing and without your hard work would still have a locked G4 on vodafone with WM5.
So to my question, is it possible to add a short cut to the lock screen button (assuming there is one somewhere) on the front screen as there was for WM5?
Many thanks,
Neil.

Go to start --> settings --> personal --> today and then click the Items tab.
Scroll down and find an item called "Device Lock" - tick it, and hit the close button and it should show up

TouchFLO-Once closed, It wont Re-Open unless I reboot phone. Any ideas?

Hey guys
New to TouchFlo - got it installed yesterday.
Having an issue though.
When I open it, by clicking the taskbar button, or in Start, it opens up.
When i want to go back to Today screen, I swipe up on it to toss it away, or even if i hold the right taskbar button to close it, it goes away.
If i try to access it again, nothing happens. screen stays on Today, but is not functional unless i press the END key, as if an invisible FLO is over the screen
Whats up here?
here is what i flashed yesterday
T-Mobile 2.26 ROM : MDA_software_update_226102_22610105_022511.exe
T-Mobile-UK_2.19.11_Radinly
NBD.v7.9
running old AT&T blue network on 8125
installed apps:
A_C Slide2Unlock
Xplore Keyboard
Today Agenda
Pocket Alarm
Nyx Password
Device Lock
Contact Manager
MhoairSofa Calendar+ Today Plugin
BatteryStatus (using this to overclock to 260mhz.)
PocketSoft ToggleBT
I had the iphone phonepad and stuff installed, but i couldnt figure out how to switch back to the Today screen without clicking SETTINGS, and still having iphone running. it was slow and laggy. any way around this?
thanks
I had same issue, only solution for me, was to stop using TouchFlo
Touchflo will only pull itself up the first time period...
Afterwards when you push the button to access it, it will appear nothing will happen... however if you swipe your finger as if you were turning the cube, it will infact go to the next page..... try it out
that is stupid!
any hopes of a fix?
The various versions of touchflo on wizard require you to press a button before getting touch to work. Depending on the ROM, this could be button 4 or left softkey.
HTC Tocuh has a video of Touch phone on their website. I see that even here, a button is pressed every time the touch features are accessed. This may be a feature of touch itself, rather than a bug in the way touchflo works on wizard.

Question on Slider home screen

Hello friends, I got the WM6.1 Plane Jane Final by Ricky installed on my Cingular 2125 and I'd like to change the tabs on my home screen.
I have used the CHome Settings tool in Settings tab to hide a few tabs that I don't need (My Faves, Internet etc). When I exit the CHome Settings program, it asks me whether to save and I always say "yes". When I am back to the home screen, I see it changed.
BUT, on restart, I lose everything ! All the default tabs along with default pages are back. So, is there a way I can make this permanent?
Is it a known problem, is there a solution for it? I tried searching, but didn't help much. Thanks for any help.
i have the same question
but sometimes i restart the cellphone it was still Ok

Cannot lock screen/keypad after ROM flash!

I just flashed my HTC Touch Pro with the latest generic HTC ROM (5.05.405.1 WWE, 03/04/09, radio version 1.11.25.01, protocol version 52.58.25.30U) with the aid of a friend as I'm new to the whole flashing bit, and now I can't lock my screen. Long press end key now just flashes the screen black for a second then goes back to being unlocked. The same thing happens if I configure long press end to pop up a list, and then select lock from there.
Help?
s2u2......
Thanks for the suggestion, and it's definitely not a bad workaround... I was just hoping that someone would have a fix so I can quickly lock it with the button again.
I had the same problem. You can use Spb Mobile Shell. It has a part program name 'Lock Device'
Me too with the new ROM.
But I noticed it after I installed lots of software.
However, if I disable the TF3D and enable the device lock from setting>today, I still able to lock the device from the screen.
Wonder is it:
1) Problem with TF3D in new ROM
2) Software incompatibility causing "long press end key" unable to lock
I use search for the keylock but can't find.
Any genius to help out? Thanx...
Same problem here. With the new ROM it's not locking anymore as it was first possible. I dont want to use another software, this should work!

Help! ( Touch Pro 2, home screen reversion )

Hey all,
First, I'd like to say that so far the Touch Pro 2 is freaking awesome, but It's been doing something since I got it that is driving me up the wall;
So, say I'm in gsplayer or Opera, and for whatever reason, the screen turns off ( I hit the power button, it times out for power conservation, whatever... ). Whenever I turn the screen back on, the Clock in Touch Flow 3D shows up. GAH >_<
Is there any way to just open the phone back up to what I was looking at when the screen turned off? Help me XDA-Developers, you're my only hope!

update:
I went to the home configuration and disabled TouchFlo 3D , and it doesn't revert to the home screen when I reset
Does anyone know how to tell TouchFlo 3D to not re-assert itself every time I turn the screen on? I didn't see anything obvious in the registery
Thanks,
AceSmythe
I have a Touch Diamond 2 and i don't have this problem..
When i just hit the power button to turn the screen off, and 1 minute later when i turn it back on, everything is still the same as i left it. All the programs are still opened.
Maybe you hit the right 'hang up' key?? Because when you press it you go back to the homescreen
I'm pretty sure I know the difference between the power button at the top of the device and the hang up button near the bottom, thanks.
Anyone around who actually has a Touch Pro 2?
I have this issue with my Blackstone, using Duttys 3.9.
I have seen this issue before and as far as i have found out there is no soution to this. The only thing that could help is turning off the Msofts LOCK app. Unfortunately mine is on due to exchange security policy.
If your lock is not on, then im afraid i dont know

What does that app do and how would I turn it off?
I also went into the registry and disabled the Home tab for TouchFlo 3D, but the issue persists
( registry entry HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\Configuration\0\Enable , set to 0 )
To any who are curious, this appears to be a viable method of removing Home, Programs, and Settings from the TouchFlo 3D tabs. On my device, 0 is Home, 2 is Programs, and 12 is settings
On another note that's completely unrelated, don't install the SRSwow control panel if you don't have drivers/hardware for it. It completely crippled the speakers and mic on the phone, and Voice Command ( voicecommand.exe ) freaked out whenever I tried to start it. Luckily, removing the software through Start -> Settings -> System -> Remove Programs and doing a full reset fixed everything
( above 2 paragraphs included for people Googling either issue )
Anyway, back to the home screen thing... any other thoughts?

If you are using the lock app (which locks the screen) you can turn it off/on by going to (on my HD) settings/all settings/personal/lock and disable it if enabled.
It may not help you, but is a known issue regarding this particular problem.
Greetz.
Have you unchecked the today timeout?
Go to Settings/Personal/Today/Items and make sure it's unchecked.

Yes and makes no difference, but cheers for the idea.
Yeah, that was the first thing I tried aswell
** Warning **
Do not install the TouchFlo Detacher, it WILL break TouchFlo on your system
See http://freewareppc.com/utilities/touchflodetacher.shtml , then avoid it like the plauge

Sorry for the lateness of this post, after a full wipe and reinstall of everything ( after the TouchFlo 3D disaster mentioned above ) the home screen does not assert itself anymore. Per suggestion, I did not enable the lock. I'd test turning on the lock and off again, but I don't want to push my luck
Thanks one and all

Mod Edit : No probelms, but no need for the final comment, so I have removed it
Now what would really solve this if you could check the registery to find the key responsible. I will have a look at mine in depth but i fear i will not find it.
Cheers.

I thought the "final comment" was worth a mention, it /was/ kind of insulting

I've been all up and down that thing and either I'm just ignorant of some term that I should be looking for or there's just no entry for it
Maybe someone could write an app to fix it or a replacement locking app

Disable "menu menu" unlock?

I'm wondering if there is a way to disable the "menu, menu" feature to unlock the screen? I keep unlocking in my pocket and I don't like using the pattern lock to keep this from happening.
Any ideas?
This is something that's been tried to be reverse engineered in another thread (back when we first got this forum). Sadly, I don't think we ultimately made any progress on that one beyond "wear loose fitting pants"
I haven't tried it yet, but I remember reading somewhere that you can apparently do it by rooting the phone, using a root shell to make the filesystem read+write, then deleting the apk file that contains HTC's keyguard.
Caveats:
* I read it in a thread that pertained to the GSM Hero, so it might not work on ours (HTC might have done something ****ed up, like wedge the CDMA thunking layer into the same file... doubtful, but not inconceivable).
* You might also have to reflash to 'Fresh' or some other 1.5 custom ROM.
If I can confirm that nandroid will also back up my phone history and text messages, I might give it a try later today. In the meantime, someone else might be elaborate more.
^^^ update: actually, I think what I just described will only eliminate HTC's annoying & worthless "slide to unlock" function. I vaguely remember a post from Diane Hackborn (one of the top Android devs @ Google) that menu-menu is *meant* to be impossible to disable, and is intended to be the equivalent of ctrl-alt-delete. However, I think her comment was made about a year ago, and it's possible they've since mellowed out a bit with 1.5 and decided that it's ok, legitimate, and (in fact) necessary to allow a keyguard app to override everything, since otherwise there's no way to truly keep the phone safe in your pocket.
In any case, if you can get the slide-to-unlock disabled, you can then use a thirdparty keyguard app (at least one of which seems to be able to successfully intercept and prevent menu-menu from unlocking the phone).
Update: Success!
I rooted my heroC, remounted its filesystem as rewritable, deleted /system/app/HtcLockScreen*.*, then installed LockBot. So far, so good.
I originally experimented with LockBot a couple of weeks ago, but ended up removing it because it destabilized my phone & didn't work reliably -- more or less because it fought with HTC's lock screen for control, and usually lost. With HTC's lock screen now gone, it seems to be running PERFECTLY.
Tip: By default, Lockbot enables the iPhone, Hero, AND Eclair unlock screens, and changes them seemingly at random. To get just the one you like, you have to launch its controller app, click "My Theme", then de-select (gray out) the star icons for the ones you don't want. Then, go back to the Lockbot admin screen (with the lock and android) and hit 'menu', then click config. You'll probably want to uncheck "Unlock Menu" (otherwise, there will be things you can accidentally launch without explicitly unlocking it first), select "Full Screen", and make sure it's Enabled.
Bigger tip: if it asks you whether you want to go to "Home", "Sense", or "Lockbot (not recommended)", the right answer for a CDMA Hero is "Sense".
Assuming I don't discover any new "gotchas", I'll be upgrading to the pro version before the end of the week
OK, make that "almost working flawlessly." I rebooted before going to bed last night, and discovered that HTC's keyguard had moved itself back to the front of the line. In other words, I'd press end/red/power to wake it up, then had to press 'menu' twice to unlock, THEN had to rotate Lockbot's dial to finish unlocking it.
I was able to make it work properly again by disabling Lockbot, pressing red/end twice (to return to home, then sleep), pressing red/end to wake it up, pressing 'menu' to unlock it, relaunching Lockbot's control panel, and re-enabling Lockbot.

Yeah, that's not HTC's lockscreen, that's the Android default. I've got the latest version of lockbot (Pro) and it seems to be working great.
From time to time when you press the home key it always goes to the lockscreen but it fixes itself.
Pro is definately worth it because the Flan (or Froyo) lockscreen is awesome.
