2. Currently there aren't any decent WM6 roms with VC. not that important to me really, just a nice feature.
It's written that you use your own private rom- so whats it do that normal roms don't?

just took the most stable rom i could find, stripped out the unstable VC, and made some tweaks to it.
such as BT DUN profile, tcpmp + you tube plugin, systray icons instead of htc homeplug, wm5torage, and a WLM version that seems to work well for me.
guess what?
found out it was simple enough to make a cab for MMS settings...
this works out quite nice for arcsoft mms 4.0.27.16
it will add an mms server called "Orange IL".
not sure if it will make it the default one, but its good anyways.

violla! made a GPRS cab also!
(and plz re-download the MMS cab, now i made it work together with the GPRS cab and made it select the correct MMS account by default).
then just install, and select your GPRS plan from the connections panel.
enjoy.

this has nothing to do with the speed of your connection. this only configures the connection settings for you.
htc universal (imate jasjar) is 3G, and you couldn't ever change that. that requires hardware changes.

no, network wizard uses its own type of settings.
besides, i couldn't gurantee other rom developers will include my settings inside the network wizard.
just put it in your ext rom and you'll be fine.

First off thanks to MuN for baserom and keyboard, double_ofour for his great kitchen, Faria for his Camera, Anichillus for the Microphone fix, Mfrazz for his settings OEM package and help, and nottoosmart for a few fixes.
The loader does hang on 100 percent and the WM6 Splash screen for a while. It's normal nothing is wrong.
There is no Splash Screnns, IPL SPL OR GSM..So it should work for G4s
I think I may be the youngest chef on XDA..I'm only 15.

I'm going to test it in my loved 9100, but my new Hermes is now my normal PDA... i've 9100 only for backup and hermes maintenance support. It's like a active/passive cluster

It is not a "setting home page question". If you would check this, you will see that some dll is missing. If flashed to your ROM because I thought it is the same then muns but with some fixes, among them the PIE fix. Thanks anyway, no problem

hey ant c, i think i found a little bug crawlin around in the rom. dont know if it is just me or what. i have set up to access my wireless router at home. when i go through the comm manager and turn on wlan it picks up and connects no problem but, if i activate wlan from the icon on the today screen i can only find all of my neighbors routers which are locked. mine is nowhere to be found. like i said, dont know if it just me but you might want to take a look.
How are u activeing it from the today screen? the plugin??

I get that error 502 bull, if i use a wm5 rom i can fix the error 502 by going into the connections and changing the IP/port etc but the WM6 roms dont seam to have the "Edit my proxy server" to put in the IP and the port etc.

ive read a couple things about t-mo having issues with their internet access. but its just 1 option thats disapearing.
Do you have this problem when you use the carrier ROM?
start>settings>connections>connections>set up my proxy server>check the box that says "This network uses a proxy....etc" when the advanced button lights up click it. Click on the type of proxy you need to setup......

see thats the problem. in WM5 the option to edit my proxy server is there, but in WM6 the option is gone. i have;
"add a new modem connection"
"manage existing connections"
i have an option to edit the proxy in which my work network runs off of, but that doesnt help me.
the option isnt there when u use My ISP and change the name.. you need to create a new one and then input all of your settings. it will then have the option for the proxy

well that hasnt effected it... but i just set it up so that the thing that automaticly connect to GRPS do it though my work network... "my isp" is now useless humm... ty for the help and suggestions people.

When you flash a custom vanilla ROM, you won't have any GPRS settings for your carrier. If you look around, you'll find instructions on how to set up your T-Mobile stuff. Try the Crossbow Reloaded thread, as I remember seeing a link to the instructions there.

lol i dont have a link.. i can give u the cab for the actual AIM, the only problem is that it doesnt connect by itself.. so u just have to open IE or somethign first... i'll also attach verichat.. they are both good programs.. i tend to use verichat more..

Actually, that is the problem. Like I said, vanilla ROMs don't have carrier settings. You have to either install a CAB that contains the necessary registry settings or you need to tweak them yourself. The thread I recommended contains a link to the necessary T-Mobile settings. Lucky for you, nstefanelli was kind enough to provide the CAB, but since I have Cingular I have no idea if they configure your phone for GPRS. I'm sure you'll figure it out eventually.

ok, for some reason youre not understanding the situation, i know the settings i needed to put in, again that wasnt the problem.
Start>Settings>Connections>Connections>Add a new modem connection>Enter a name>Cellular Line (GPRS)>Next>wap.voicestream.com in the Access point name field>Next>Finish.

I understand it has nothing to do with your carrier. This is my point: if your phone works when you use the default ROM, then the problem lies with WM6. You are missing key settings that prevent WM6 from connecting via GPRS to any network. I've installed WM6 quite a few times on my 8125, and each time I was unable to connect to anything until I installed a CAB provided in the Crossbow Reloaded thread. After that, I was able to enter the necessary proxy.
Now, if you've already visited the reloaded thread and tried the T-Mobile stuff that's provided there, then I apologize. However, I get the distinct feeling you haven't done that yet. If you just can't get WM6 working, then revert to the default 2.26 T-Mobile ROM.

During my investigations I found a way to fix problem with GPRS And it is VERY light!
1. Applying listed below registry settings:
HKLM\Drivers\BuildIn\RIL\GPRSAutoAttach=1
HKLM\Drivers\BuildIn\RIL\GPRSAutoDetach=1
HKLM/Comm/ConnMgr/Providers/{7C4B...}/Connections/NameOfConnection/AlwaysOn=1
Maybe there is no necessity in this tweak - still, it works for my device
2. The main part - DOWNGRADING radio version to 2.47.01!!!

My device works already for a couple of hours - indication of EDGE is in place, GRPS session is establishing correctly
Please, anybody, test this assumption on your devices! Maybe we have to advice Phil and Andot to change Radio version in their ROMs

I have recooked Andot's PEE V6 - mostly for GRPS issue fixing Result as NK.BKF file ONLY can be downloaded here:

1. GPRS issues were fixed by upgrading radio.dll, ril.dll and rilgsm.dll from ROM from Shark (build 17740) - now it seems to work fine, even with radio 2.61 and no tweaks in registry! This can be not 100% truth thou I test in only for a couple of hours. If it is not - I'll continue my trip inside of Radio part of ROM
2. Removed Stream Media Player (I need some space in ROM)
3. Added Ondrej.Hanak.Contacts.Menu - now you can easilly send your contacts by menu "Send by SMS/Email".
4. Added Intruders.MissedCallsSmsFix.SP.and.PPC.v0.2.5 - in SMS body information of presented numbers are added from ADDRESS book.
5. Updated A2DP dlls from Graphite ROM.

On andots V6, after 1week I experienced problems on my calls (incoming/outging). Seems the reception is most of the time bad. Most of the time I cant hear the other side of the line but sometimes the reception is good. Based on my search here, it seems caused by the HTC Camera 4.0 which is included in Andots V6. So what I do is remove the HTC Camera by tweaking the ROM and used CoolCamera 1.15 instead. Now my call reception is back to normal/good for almost week already.
My question is, on this version of yours, have you experienced the problems I mentioned above? If no, how long youve been using this version of yours already. Thanks again...
Never. I forgot about ANY problem with incoming/outgoing calls long, long ago And I can't even imagine, HOW camera software may affect on call procedure...
Perhaps the camera software is running in the background and taking up alot of memory, and yes even that andot PEE HTC camera software still has bugs. I think the old software in WM5 is better. the Full screen mode is simply a zoomed in picture, i prefer to turn off zoom because only by then i get WYSIWYG

Still no GPRS
I had gprs for about 1 month. Then it stopped working. I was running Wm6 PEE. I have downgraded and upgraded the radio, tried reformatting and reflashing three different wm6 roms and editing the registry. Still no dice. This really has me stumped. I might try reverting back to the original imate wm5 rom... nah I dont really use GPRS that much. (But it is really annoying.)
Second version of Andot's WM6 V6 recooking.
It's features:
1. ril.dll was used from O2 Graphite (theoretically this may cause more stable radio)
2. Added xT9 (rus/eng) - because the most intrested was Russian auditory
3. Deleted Guava theme - I need some place in ROM
4. Deleted patch Contacts.Menu - because WM6 has internal mechanism of contacts sending (unfortunately - only by SMS)
5. Added last IPL/SPL and Radio 2.61. So be VERY carefull during the beginning of flashing process!!! If it is terminated before flashing of IPL/SPL is completed - your device will be dead!!! But do not worry much - IPL/SPL are flashed at the beginning of flash process!
6. Page pool is 4 Mb - more space in RAM
7. Intruder's patch work was fixed.

I had gprs for about a month before it stopped working. None of my network settings have changed. Does WM6 have any extra network settings from WM5?
If it is network related, shouldn't I be able to re-establish a gprs connection with the correct setting? BTW Telstra (network provider) still has an active gprs network. I'll keep watching these posts for more clues.

Hey DSF, you are definitely correct about the GPRS issue being network related. I have just confirmed that GPRS has been disabled on my sim card. It is totally unrelated to radio firmware or rom.
I tried your latest rom and it's unusable to who uses a2dp... becomes very slow, it must be the pagepool....
Dutty's SupaLite Rom which is based on my new Rom which I'm working on.
I havent flash this Rom so I dont know the memory storage information please post and I will edit post. I can't flash my phone for now, awaiting important call.
The Main difference of this Rom from any other Rom is that windows media player has been removed and TCPMP PLAYER is now the Default player for all files. You can also change settings in TCPMP and select all files in File associations

This Rom has not got midlet manager so you need to install one before trying to run any midlet applications.

How To Enable BBC CONNECT TO THIS ROM
Install instructions:
1) goto hklm>system>versions and change what ever is there to .0.4.2 (The leading . before the 0 needs to be there)
2) Install bbconnect cab file.
3) If you don't get the check boxes at the end of the install (Calendar, notes, etc). Re-run the install (it will remove the 1st instance), I always get it the second time.
4) Wait for Blackberry to finish "setting up device for first use" and let it reboot.
5) On reboot, status will now show the PIN number.
6) Open the Blackberry connect desktop application. (Make sure you have access to your corporate e-mail) If you do you will see "Configure Wireless Device" as active.
7) Plug in the Tilt and wait for Activsync to finish syncing and says "connected".
8) In the BB Connect desktop application hit the "Configure Wireless"
9) When finished unplug Tilt and soft reset.
10) You should be good to go at this point.

I promised a SupaLite rom for ages which I havent done since hermes, I could have got it a bit lighter removing some other stuff, for now this should be ok for all those who want to install from scratch.
All cabs including mms is in ftp cab collection.
MMS cab is called Shamanix ArcSoft MMS 4.2.8.1.cab

Hey, where can I find the HTC home plugin? The 2 I found in the cab collection are not the right ones. I'm looking for the one that you can use HHC with.
Just got done installing this version. Everything looks great so far. MP3 ringtones work even though Windows Media Player is gone. Looks like Network customization is gone.

It's very simple. Install HHC, start it, and it will download HTC Home Plugin for you!

signed certificate problem
looks good so far but when trying to run modaco nodata i get the signed certificate error. Any ideas?

Call Waiting notification
Hi Dutty, i just wanna say that your work is Awsome!
we're all thankfull.
One request:
In Nokia's when you call someone, and that someone's on the phone, you get on your phone both a sound and a graphic notification, that your call is "Waiting".
I still didnt found a program that does the same to Windows Mobile OS.
- Can you do that on one of your releases? I just found that a useful feature.

you got it, i had a brain burb because i used to have to adjust that with the first couple custom roms
All cabs including mms is in ftp cab collection.
MMS cab is called Shamanix ArcSoft MMS 4.2.8.1.cab[/QUOTE]

btw - i've tried installing the Shamanix ArcSoft MMS cab
however after installation, i cannot find the MMS folder in messaging
i seem to be unable to find it in any folder under programs or settings, have tried searching everywhere to get it up

This release has none of that stuff. It's just a base so that anyone else who wants to make a WM6.1 ROM can do so. Or if you want an ultraclean rom that's fast and has lots of space.

I'm waiting for the kitchen. There are some "brown" images I want to replace, remove welcome center (useless) and other stuff.
The bug with the "display clock on unlock screen" still no resolved right?
Well then I will go back to the beta 4.1 until some one can cook a custom wm 6.1. I'm wondering if the "flash 7" hack can be implement into the rom?

i just want to say thanx I will be testing this bad baby out. will report ne fixes that i can find as i love testing this. I am so looking forward to the custimizations. this is awesome..
I unlocked my phone through t-mobile so i skipped the step sda unlock. but ran the CID program and no hickups im at 68% and climbing will check out the MMS issue. also if you view SNN3.1 for the wizard MDA he installed a CAB that does automatic Network set up. I am wondering if this cab would work on the smartphone? that way the mms and t-zones will be set up .. if not i will go to t-mobiles site to see if i can manually configure it. im sure with the dotac configurator should be easy. device is up and running. now time to start installing cab fixes and my faves.. woot. im playing with arcsoft mms cab right now .. seems buggy .. but will look into other options..
Arcsoft_MMS_4281.cab should fix the mms problem its a bit buggy i have like mms and mms1 listed but i can send and recieve mms when i set up the tmobile mms servlets in the options settings .. the page i found the program is

yeah that cab would work for most users but not some.
as the only wep server i connect to is for mms
the only internetserver i connect to is internet3.voicestream.com
so that program would set everything up wrong for me.

Yes, the rom does have WLM, Voice Command, and Office Mobile. I think I'll just have to use T-Mobile's provxml files to setup the data and mms.
I got an idea yesterday and this weekend I'll be testing to see if I can get Neo to work. I'm going to have two sets of plugins. The wm6.1 currently reference the bronze resources and that's why Neo doesn't show up. I'll just add the Neo plugins with different names and replace the CHome and confetti core with the old ones.

that is in that thread works but has a few screeen bugs as far as rendering the bottom correctly or having top keys menu and select missing but other than that i installed it than i set up t-mobiles dotac settings and voila i now have mms.
okay .. i think this acrsoft cab is for a touch. so now i am searching for a smartphone MMS cab i will be in and out of this post. but that cab works just made for a touch screen but still manageable you can recieve and send mms. i think i need to fix the camera issue first but i will search around for the smartphone MMS cab.

worked out for me but i had to go to windows to use it .nd4spd could you make this last rom with the flashlite.dll file cooked in it I think it needs to be part of the rom to work with my faves
Cosmetic issues
I'd like to gently suggest that the incoming/in-progress call screens are still messed up.
1. For incoming calls (HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\INCOMING\portrait\text) this ROM makes all text white (HEX:FFFFFF or DEC:16777215) which is bad for the off-white background. Black (HEX:0 or DEC:0) and perhaps dark-grey (HEX:222222 or DEC:2236962) should be used here.
2. For in-progress display (HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\PROGRESS) this ROM uses Backgroud_port.bmp and Background_land.bmp images that are based on the "Windows Default" (Green) theme. Switch to a different color-scheme (ie. red Guava bubbles), and the green looks awful. Just as with the comm manager, a neutral background should be used here.

MMS working
Okay managed to get mms working using arcsoft.cab the file i found searching endlessly is ArcsoftMMS_5_0_31_7_US.cab. than I applied t-mobiles server information in the options. the SMS / MMS are now one and you have 2 or so locations where you can set your MMSC info. But so far so good. still testing out other apps some which just wont work. Tried to install the myfaves cab but just hangs than says MY5APP.EXE is corupted or not found. so im still looking in on how i can fix this. but having the ability to send and recieve MMS is awesome. sometimes it takes a bit to send a file or recieve one but working.
how do i sync with my computer after i have installed the new rom?
Go to Settings > Connections > USB To PC and uncheck the enhanced USB funtionality option
