Hi -
I seem to be having a rough time as of late with my SPV m3100 - The latest issue comes after 2 months of not being able to use the screen because of a dink in the digitizer. Now that's fixed I bought a new 2 GB datawrite micro SD card for it and its just not showing up when I insert it to the ppc...
Its grand when I put it into the adapter and then into my desktop, but my ppc just is'nt registering any micro sd card i put into it...
Does anyone have any clues on how to solve this annoying issue?
Cheers - JJ McG.

I LOVE MY XDA2
Let's not kid ourselves this is one fine piece of kit.
I have had it for about 4 weeks now and played with it, soft resetting, hard resetting, installing, uninstalling etc
I have all the best software ready to go and want to compress some comedy dvd's onto my gadget to watch on the move.
So - off I go to the local computer store and purchased a 128mb SD memory card ('kingmax" is the brand - rubbish I know but this isn't my problem)
Put it in - it doesnt' recognise it
Took the card back - tried another - put it in - no sign it's in there..
Went to Dixons - bought an 'Impact' 256mb card in - put it in and again - no sign it's there..
Am I doing something REALLY stupid here ?
Does the card need formatting before it's seen in 'storage' ?
There's absolutely no sign that there's a card in my XDA2
Any ideas or is the SD slot babbered ?!?
Do you have a card reader? The xda should offer to format it for you when you insert it. You could try storage tools which is a free download but if your xda isnt seeing the card it may not help. You can format it in a card reader through windows.
Thanks.
I'll try that.
I'll purchase a card reader/writer and try formatting them that way - but I don't hold out much hope as I seem to be the only one with this problem that I can see on here !??
Mine did the same and I tried formating. It sounds weird but after months of playing with it I realized that it only likes certain cards. So far it takes every sancard, but hates pny.
SD Cards on iMate and XDA II
Hi All,
We sell the iMates and XDAIIs and have found similar issues with "generic" cards and many of the slower Sandisk card etc.
We always recommend using the better Lexar SD cards or other "Ultra" card types and format them in a reader to Fat32 BEFORE shipping.....
In short - Don't get a slower card (read CHEAP) or a Generic unless you can test it BEFORE you buy it as most will cause problems.
Good luck
Andy
Hy.
I purchased on the Internet a 2 GB mini SD card manufactured by D-TEC.
After having put this card into my Trinity, it was impossible to get it out !
Normaly, you push a little bit more on the card, you hear a 'click', and it is pushed out automatically. In my case, nothing happened.
Having managed to get it out using a cutter, I discovered that the card was too thick ; compared to a SanDisk mini SD card, it was obviously thicker.
Did anyone already encounter this ?
Best regards
Leinad
I've had a same problem with my Nokia N80 and "A-Data" 1GB MiniSD card.
Hi all,
Ive just got an Orbit and can seem to get it to see the Micro SD card. It doesnt appear in explorer and it doesnt autorun (its the copilot card)
I had a similar prob with my mini S but putting the card in and out a few times seemed to fix that. In this case it doesnt seem to.
Is there a known issue with it not reading cards? (ive installed the SD card fix from HTC, this didnt make any difference).
Ive not been able to test with another card but anyone have any thoughts?
Cheers
Could be a faulty card.
Have you tried opening it with your PC, so you could at least see the files on it?
i was facing exactly same problem
then i found that my card was faulty
crap, i just tried the card in a mini-sd adapter in my old minis and it runs and auto plays instantly.
points towards the phone how very annoying
not a lot i can do is there?
send it off, wait
Tried cutting out a piece of paper and placing that on the back of the card so that it pushes the card/phone contacts together firmer?
got it working at last!
it seems it suffers the same problem as my miniS did. it seems to work now and again and i have to put it in and out loads of times!
works now tho!!
I've had a A-Data microsd HC 8GB card with miniSD adapter for about two months. It all worked well until I took the card out of the phone and put it into a card reader. The computer recognized the card, I transfered some big files (it's quicker to transfer than using USB...) and then ran into problems with my P3600. First, no card was found by PPC. I made a few hard resets, formatted the card, tried other roms... Nothing seemed to help, so I took the card back to service and they gave me another one right away (a replacement). Of course I was very excited since I cannot live without some memory in my HTC. Inserted the new card and... again nothing, saying "Not installed". Yes, I read there are problems with SDHC cards, but I'd like to get it working as soon as possible (tomorrow I'm going to Germany, so I'd really need it), if no solution, I'll have to be statisfied with my old 2GB MINISD.
Any solutions here??
Tried almost everything.
Thanks,
e
have you tryied with a different adaptor?
no... i was thinking about trying my father's but i don't want to mess up thing for him also. the the microsd -> minisd -> sd -> computer seems to work just fine
SDHC Problems
I think you musst format the sdhc card in --> importend---> FAT32 FORMAT
on you Pc!
Check file manager
Using File manager check that, when you removed the card, the OS didn't create a new Storage card. If it did, your card will become Storage Card 2 and not function correctly.
The cure is to remove your card, delete Storage card from My Device, put your card in and soft reset.
Good luck.
I risked my father's MINISD adapter and it works... so it was the adapte causing all of the problems :/ I'll go and buy another one.
Thank you for your help anyway!
Bye,

I have the Sandisk 8 Gig microSD w adapter in my Trinity and it works perfectly. In fact it is the best memory card that I've ever used going back through all of my PPC devices. It hasn't had even one single issue.

which ROM/windows verion are you using? you might need to flash a different one or apply a fix - search and you'll find-it
Only 4GB SDHC work in default Rom WM5
Update to WM6 and 8GB SDHC working fine.
Hello,
Well, As I had the problem with my old card, I bought a new one and inserted in my device, it doesn't work it is a Micro SD 4 GB card.
I want to know, is it because Qtek S200 doesn't support 4 GB? When I insert card into mobile, the display light blinks and later on when I remove, same thing happens it means card is OK, and when I connect to my PC, it is functioning totally fine.
Please help, I am into a great **** ... If this card is not Ok, then I will try to return it tomorrow..
Please help me fast, thanks a lot.
FAISAL!
