Does any one know any free good movie player for WM5?
I have tried:
a.TCMP
b.PocketDvix
c.Sompy.
each of these have some or the other error. Most give "DirectDraw:error".
Anybody has solution?
non of them or any of playrs are made specialy for wm5
i never had issues with TCMP on wm2003 or wm5
maybe you just need to pick another video driver

TCPMP is one of the best free movie players out there! Check your file association and player settings in TCPMP. Sompy and Pocket DivX sucks! Try free Pocket TV or PocketMVP, two more good movie players.

I've attached the OTA files for Pocket TV and Movie Player. These can be installed on your storage card.

do you know where i can get it from?
one tip...
you can use google to find something...
http://betaplayer.corecodec.org/
or.... you can try converting your .avi files (and other video format) to .wmv files using the windows xp movie maker. then just transfer the converted file to your xda2 and u should have no problem playing it.
hope this helps!
thank you all for responding.
The BetaPlayer suggestion was best.
Now I have found a encoder and also a very good player to both convert my movies and also view them on the XDA II.
Pocket DivX Encoder & Betaplayer did the trick.
Thank you very much.
This rocks! Thanks Guys!
In under 10 minutes, ive encoded the latest episode of Battlestar Galactica and Im now sitting here at my desk watching it on my MDA3.
You da men!
hey guys, i have some full family guy episodes (~200 mbs) that i wanna put on my dash. when i sync them through windows media player on my desktop, it converts them to .wmv to make them about ~25 mbs. however, now i cant play them on my tcpmp player. when i try to open it gives me 2 error messages:
Player: Audio codec (windows media audio) not supported by player
Player: video codec (windows media video 9) not supported by player.
any help would be helpful... and yes i did go to file associations and make sure that .wmv is checked off, thanks

core player now plays wmv thanks to you.
whereever you have installed your core player just put the files below into and heypresto your up and running - saving lots of time batch converting etc..
Remember you may not see the files in the device window as they are hidden files... if you want to see them I am sure you know what to do...
Jay

Hi to everyone.
I am searching for an good mp3 and eventually aac player. windows media player is nice for a few songs but I really hate the way you use the libary (the way you need to change one directory up for other artist etc with you stylus).
tcpmp is nice for movies but not for mp3 playback with more than 50 songs - or am I wrong?
i have heard of ppod but development is frozen and i dont know if i should try it?!
what do you use and what can you recommend?
Ohhh : I need the software for wm2003se (its a HTC Magician)
kind regards, VL

I recently upgraded from a Titan/Mogul to the Raphael/Touch Pro. Previously I was using TCPMP to play videos in odd formats the WMP doesn't recognize. With the release of nueTVOut I need a capable media player now more than ever. As far as I know TCPMP is QVGA/WQVGA only, does anyone know of an alternative program or other solution that is VGA/Touch Pro compatible?
Have you tried the commercial version of TCPMP: CorePlayer?

No it isn't only for QVGA and WQVGA. Tcpmp works great on my touch pro. Have you tried it yet?
Hi,
you can also try this http://www.ffmpeg-wince.org. ffplay the free and open source media player.
Bye
hi guys,
I just wanted to ask you if maybe anyone here can tell me what i have to do to get flac an wave files working on the htc media player?
I'm asking, because i'd like to leave my ipod video 5g (30gb with rockbox) at home and buy a 16gb card for the hd2
any solutions?
greetz,
Eck
Install and use TCpMP player instead of HTC original music player. Works perfect with all kind of audio, video and pic files.
Is there any way to use remote control buttons in TCpMP ?

Let's visit Conduits website then, Thanks a lot man
Yes, but isn't there any way to make the plugins work with the original media player, because i really like the tab player of the HD2, fits better to the whole device than a third party player and I don't want to start installing millions of apps to be able to open each file, I mean isn't it better to find a way to make it more simple and don't have to full up the memory and the registry of the phone?
Bump... any way of integrating FLAC decoding into this nice-looking program?
i also would like more plugins ffor the htc player because the controls look realy good and it plays full screen. flv, divx, etc, etc, and even wmv would be nice. somebody please.
