device being reset if cprog.exe is killed..

Hi,
I am trying to kill cprog.exe to make my application receive cell calls..
But, surprisingly, when I kill cprog.exe and try to insert a new contact entry in addressbook, it resets the device.. So, is there anybody who has seen this behavior ??
To reproduce do just this..
1. Kill cprog.exe from any tool.
2. Go to today screen, in bottom left corner press "New" menu and select contacts.
It makes device reset.
So, whats the way to solve this issue ?

To: e-mail auto completion on WM6.

Hey,
with my old Wizzard and WM5, when I used to just write someones name in the To: field, it would go through my address book and find that persons e-mail address.
Now on my HTC Vox with WM6 it will not do that, I have to go into the menue and look at my directory.
Is there any way I can turn that option on, so I wont have to go through 2 menues before?
Thanks,
WA
no ideas?
No one have any idea to change the settings for this?
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone that celebrates it.
start typing and then press right softkey+2
Could you please clarify where the right softkey is? I have the HTC S710 and am using the keyboard.
The right softkey is the key that when you press on homescreen you will get to the Contacts. And when you press the left softkey, you will get to the start menu.
hah thanks, I feel stupid now .
Too bad it does not look into the directory automatically though, as it did with WM5. Is there a way to turn it on?
no

How do I stop this from appearing?

After adding a few programs to the Tilt, this white-background day / date / time message appears, seemingly at random.
Which program controls this? What do I do to change to prevent this?
TIA,
Looks a bit like aebuttonplus. You may have mapped a button to date.

What are the programs you added prior to this? Look in your windows/startup folder, delete if file is there. Or tap menu > show all files> scroll page till file is found, delete when found. Or look in windows/app mgr. Or windows/start menu/programs. Delete file when and/or where found.
Hmmm, Windows Startup has:
AEBPlus
Bandswitch
btdwake
ISFastSyncServer
poutlook
sddaemon
WatchEDB
I scanned the assignments in AEBPlus. I don't see a button or key assigned to date. The list of buttons ends with Right arrow.

Remove the program btdwake and see if that was causing the problem. Save this file before removing in case it was not the culprit.

Do this procedure on all your installed programs that created files in your windows/startup folder. Don't mess with factory files in startup.
not familiar with AEbuttonplus. Has your problem been solved yet?
Starting testing now
Away for a while....
I've moved btdwake and will test the system for a while and circle back....

No effect. Additional symptom info: the message appears whenever I press the power button to wake the system after the timeout took it to low-power state.

Contact List problem with Touch Cruise

Anyone experience the following problem ?
I tap onto the "Contact" button at the main screen and instead of showing me all my contact numbers, it was all blank. I fired up the HTC Cube and surprisingly, all my phone numbers that are stored under the "Favorite Contact" were all missing! There were no numbers/pictures. I had to do a soft reset and then all my contacts are back again. But I had to manually add all my favourte contacts back in to the Touch Cube again. This happened twice to me.
Another issue is that when i press the "Contact" button at the main screen, usually my contact list will appear and then on the right side it shows the alphabetical order right ? Just like the following :
#
A
B
C
D
E
.
.
.
.
Z
Today, it somehow disappeared. Did i disable it or anything ? Is it possible to disable ?
I noticed that my contacts disappeared whenever I disconnected from the Internet. This was because Windows Live Synch Options were configured to "As Items Arrive" and I also synchronized my contacts directly from Hotmail. After I changed the Sync frequency to "Every 15 minutes" my TC was much faster and contacts stayed in the contact list everytime I was offline. Don't know if this is the problem in your case but hope it helps.
Hmn.. I don't think thats my problem because I don't synchronize my contacts directly from hotmail.
Anyway, thanks for responding still!
Under contacts, go to
Menu > options
The first option is "Show alphabetical index".
Make sure it's UNCHECKED. This should bring the HTC random access back (the grey alphabetical strip).
If it's already unchecked, check it, go back to contacts and then repeat the process, unchecking it this time.
Good luck.
Ok.. that works... but how come it happened it the first place ? I didn't check it. It just disappear.

Genius, fixed it for me, thanks
i have the same problem with the alphabet scroll bar. sometimes when i open contacts from the contacts soft key it appears as a nomal scroll bar i do a soft reset and its back to normal. not sure why it disappears though.
Yeah I've seen the alphabet scroll bar disappear before, haven't noticed a pattern yet. I didn't need to soft reset to get it back though, not 100% sure so don't quote me.
Polaris - Touch Cruse not keeping certain settings.
I have the same issue and the fix work for me also. I lose the A – Z list on the right side when I shut the phone down. I also lose the selected keypad and TomTom from the today screen even though it is selected to be there and the same kind of fix works. I don’t even have to uncheck it and recheck it. I can just go to Start, settings, Today and then Items and see the list but just hit OK and then it’s back. For the keypad I have to select the one I want again. This seems to happen every time I have to power it all the way down.
I had the same issue; now it's fixed... THX!!
Touch Cruise - Contacts - Missing alphabetical list
I had same problem, checking and unchecking ths Show alphabetical index helped, weird...

how to disable Left "EMail" softkey

hello,
is anything new about the changing the left softkey meaning? i dont want to klik unnecessary thanks for answers,
kuba
You can't exactly delete it off, but...
I also am a happy owner of a Treo 750.
In my experience with this phone, you can't exactly remove the E-mail link off all together, but you can 'add' a function to that left soft key.
All you need is a reg edit program, and....
Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\11 2
For Default data change the text of the left soft key. For example I changed mine to Messaging.
Change Open Data to the exact location of a program link.
For example if you want to change it to the messaging program you would change it to "\Windows\tmail.exe" Note that the quotes must be included.
When you have everything set with the name and file location....exit and soft-reboot your phone. Now, when you click the left soft key, it should come up with the program link that you wanted with the email link next to it.
It's still there, but at least you can use it for something else as well.
Hope that this is useful to you and good luck...=)
