I listen to internet radio (shoutcast) with my U1000 (wm6) through a2dp, under HSDPA 3g network. My problem is, during in the bus or train, some regions does not have good 3g coverage which causes the streaming stop. Sometimes the music player can recover back, but most of the time it just stops until I manually click the play button.
I have tried the following players, and each of them has their own problem:
1. PocketMusic player
It supports AVRCP, so I assume I can just click "play" button in my bluetooth receiver. But the problem is, once the HSDPA connection disconnects, it doesn't try to connect back the network and just hangs there.
2. Resco Pocket radio
It doesn't support AVRCP. And it won't reconnect every time.
3. GSPlayer
It doesn't support AVRCP, and won't reconnect every time either.
So any suggestions or experience on that? Thanks!
i'll give these apps a try, i'm searching for a good shoutcast stream player too, that supports connection over HSPA and WiFi.
if i find any others i'll be sure to let you know!

Hi,
Does anyone know a tweak to make the HTC Streaming Media app continue to work when the back light is off, or the screen is locked etc...
It just stops playing on my Diamond when streaming and not in the foreground.
Thanks in advance
I have the same problem with my HTC elfin. I have tried several of the possible fixes listed in these forums; however, none have worked perfectly so far. I can listen to streaming internet radio fine without lossing connection; however, I can't listent to music from my shared folder's over my home network without loosing connection after the first song. The first song will play until the end but the network connection is lost as soon as the device goes to sleep and will not play any of the next songs in the list. I would also love to finally have a fix for this.
Sprint EVO 4G
Any GB Rom (behaves the same)
Any GB kernel (behaves the same)
Any Froyo ROM/kernel (works great)
I've searched the forums, and I can't seem to find a solution for a long connection delay to certain streaming media. Specifically, Pandora is fine, as is any other similar app. My issue is with listening in on streams from radioreference.net or other stream hosts that handle police, rail, and fire frequency scanner streams. Under Froyo, I get instant connections in my Scanner Radio app, but in GB there are long (~1-2 minute) delays to attach to the stream. I've tried some proxy setting changes, but nothing really helps. The EVO acts like is waiting on some kind of timeout, but eventually connects and stays connected.
Ideas?
You will probably have better luck here.

My buddy has this tablet and LOVES it... except 1 thing. He listens to Pandora over Bluetooth headphones. If he uses Cellular data, all is well. If he goes over WiFi... it start cutting in and out.
I found this article:
http://androidforums.com/threads/how-to-reduce-interference-between-wifi-and-bluetooth.844241/
Which basically says trying to change the WiFi channel on the router.
He is thinking of returning the tablet but I'm curious if anyone else uses WiFi + Bluetooth (earbuds, gamepad, etc) at the same time and notice any slowdowns, lagging, stuttering, etc...
Thanks!
I often listen to Spotify over wifi with Bluetooth en now and then it needs to rebuffer. Just now and then. Does it also happens when he listen to Pandora without Bluetooth? I read somewhere that the Bluetooth protocol could also be the cause instead? Just checking because i am interested also in that matter.

Hello xda,
I recently put Bluetooth into an old boombox from the eighties. It works great, except with my galaxy s4.
Bluetooth keeps on disconnecting, rapidly reconnecting and disconnecting again whenever I try to stream via Google play music or YouTube for example. My s4 disconnects the bluetooth device whenever the audio takes too much time to start streaming, which is always the case as I have a poor internet connection.
Why do I think it is related to the time it takes for audio to start streaming ?
- The boombox works fine with local files on my galaxy s4
- Streaming audio works fine when my s4 is connected to 4g or faster wifi, when there is no long buffering before a song starts playing.
- It works fine on all other devices I tested (nexus 10, laptop, moto g....), even when music has to buffer for 30+ seconds before it starts playing.
Pausing a song works fine though, and it stays connected for hours when nothing is being played
It must be related to my phone, it has the original Samsung lollipop firmware but it is rooted and has xposed installed (of course).
A factory reset is not an option, I have done way too many tweaks for that.
Has anyone been having this problem?
Is it possible to install a newer/different Bluetooth firmware?
Or does anyone know an app/ xposed module that prevents the phone from disconnecting a bluetooth device on it's own ?
Thank you in advance,

Guys I have a Gionee A1 phone working flawlessly as my secondary phone.
Phone isn't rooted.
Since few months it is acting weird.
When I play Youtube or any online videos on phone connected to a Wifi and audio connected to a BT speaker or BT earphones, the voice is very choppy, skipping, stuttering and disturbing.
Earlier it used to work simply great.
The same earphones and BT speaker works flawlessly on my other phones.
But this doesn't happen when I do the above things on Mobile data connection.
I tried various tricks and solutions as below but none worked...
Factory reset
I upgraded the firmware and also downgraded but the issue still remains.
In Battery optimization do not optimize BT ad YT.
Clear data for both BT and YT and Wifi.
Battery saver mode is disabled.
Browser upgrade/ YT app upgrade etc.
Apart from this, there are no other issues with the phone at all. even calls etc work fine on BT earphones. The camera, battery wifi etc all wok flawlessly.
Is there any conflict arising between BT and Wifi connection within the phone?
I dont have any other wireless devices in my house at all.
Kindly help to resolve this minor looking big issue..
I think there is not much you can do.
From my experience with Bluetooth I can say it always failed for some reason. Like when bt mouse becomes unresponsive/skips when laptop is under load, or bt speakers (in home or in car) having choppy playback for no apparent reason.
The bt connection is so sensitive and it can be disturbed by other radio operated devices.
What you can try is using vlc player for music playback when connected to bt speakers.
I found this most useful, as it uses buffer in best way to prevent skipping/choppy playback.
Second idea is to unpair/pair your device and it should work fine, for some time at least...
Third thing you could experiment on is in Android settings, go to Developer options and change settings in the bt section (bt codec, bt sample rate, channel mode) to see if there are any improvements.
