T-Mobile and TouchFlow - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Hey is anyone ever going to find a work around for the TouchFlo weather on T-Mobile network ? I heard something about proxy. Couldn't we just create a new connection or modify the registry. I REALLY MISS MY WEATHER INFO........

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319982&highlight=weather+proxy

Thank you. I had search several times using touchflo and came up empty.

Anyone get this to work other than install the cab? I've tried several times to cook it into a ROM, but all didn't work. Not sure what the problem is, the plugin installs, but doesn't show anything at all.

just watch the weather report.. mam..

I have a T-Mo MDA... To get Mine 2 Work I had to reinstall the HTC Home Plug-in and not use the one cooked in the rom

The HTCHome.dll file from the link above expects the images to be in \HTCHome not in \Windows so for now (until I learn how to cook a rom with stuff in places other than \Windows) I install the cab, then copy \HTCHome directory to \HTCHome2 then copy the HTCHome.dll to HTCHome2.dll then uninstall the cab rename \HTCHome2 to \HTCHome and HTCHome2.dll to HTCHome.dll and it works. Kinda of a pain, but at least the weater app works.

M2D on Omnia

Hi There!
I have a question about installing M2D on my Samsung Omnia.
I tried it several times but no luck.
I moved the files from the .rar file to my phone, opened the Opera browser setup file but then the screen just stays white and nothing happens.
What do I have to do?
thanks
flash this

aha
sounds like you are making he same mistake I did.
The files you downloaded are cab files, NOT winrar files, windows is lying to you!
don't extract the archive in windows, just move the archive to your programs folder, then find it in File Explorer and open it then. It should install automatically.
It only took me 3 days to work that out... I must be a special kind of stupid
everyone else who has flashed is calling it a rom happily ae you flashing this to your phone because thats the only way to change the rom
Thanks for the replies guys.
Will try some things.
Will I be able to install this on my Omnia?
Looks very nice!
I installed all the .cab files (thanks to "benoki" for that, hehe )
and when I'm on the Today screen is says: Touch Here to open TouchFLO.
I do that and nothing happens.
Any ideas?

I'm running a Manila 2D skin on my Omnia, but first I had to install 'SPB Mobile Shell', which is an application that lets you change things (google it, you'll get the company website). SPB mobile shell isn't free, but they do have a trial version to download, and then you can purchase a key if you want, around $30. Its also possible to find not so legal versions on most popular torrent sites, but of course that would be wrong to do. Up to you.
AFAIK, you need this program to run the decent M2D skins, the .cab file that you have is probably made for SPB.
Thanks benoki.
SPB Mobile Shell starts nicely. First downloaded it, but totally worth the money.
I will try some Manilla2D skins!
Update: TouchFlo still wont start...
Now that you have SPB mobile shell installed, you won't be using the previous M2D cab you installed. Take it off (the previous M2D), reset, then find yourself Greatbal's latest M2D skin, and drop that .cab file into the SPB folder, and run it.
Reset, and you should be done. you'll see the Today screen, and SPb will be showing on the bottom right of the screen, touch and go

Question on how to make cabs for touch pro

i have a touch pro and i am trying to use a 6.5 rom that is barebones and he also posts a kitchen. the chef said it would be better to install everything you want via cab rather than the kitchen because you can upgrade your apps without the hassle of having to flash again. most of the htc programs such as the taskmanager, manila, mp3 trimmer, etc etc, i can find as an oem package, but very little cabs of the updated app exist. that said, since i am only able to find them via oem, my question is, HOW CAN I MAKE A CAB FROM AN OEM USING WINCE CAB MANAGER? i have that program but dont know where the oem files go, what registries to put, etc etc....for example, if im trying to use a dialer to make a cab, i know the png files go in the windows folder, but what about the other files? there are obviously reg entries too, where can i see where these reg entries go?
so then nobody knows?

[REQ] TomTom destroys Bluetooth function - BTTrayCE.exe etc. needed

Hello together!
After installing TomTom on my HD2 the internal Bluetooth-function doesn´t work...as far as I know it is recommended to rename/delete the following files to fix this issue:
BTTrayCE.exe, BtSdkCE30.dll and BtCoreIf.dll
But in fact I can´t rename/delete any of these files...tried with windows explorer, TotalCommander and the HD2 Explorer (I don´t know if they are in use?! according to the task mangager they aren´t)
So could anybody please upload these 3 files from a working HD2 Device?
I renamed BtSdkCE30.dll and deleted BtCoreIf.dll.
For some reason BtSdkCE30.dll was in use, but I was able to rename it.
As far as I know you leave BTTrayCE.exe the way it is.
Done with Total Commander btw.
Maybe restart your HD2 if you can't even rename them, then try again before doing anything else.
Tomtom doesn't list the software as compatible with the HD2...
So i can imagine none of you did buy it and all use a not compatible cracked version. tttttttttttttttt
So now enjoy the dark side !!!!!!

this works with almost any problem situation with tomtom...
preferable, install to memorycard on another device, then run tomtom from card without installing it, cause you put all the files on memorycard already... yes i did buy it for my touch pro...
If you are installing with a cab file,
Install in your storage card and hard reset.
Now, don't install again.Copy tomtomnavigator.exe from program folder in storage card and place a shorcut in windows programs folder.

It's working well on my HD2 without issues.
Hey there!! First, thank you for your answers!
Well, i really don´t want to make a hard reset!! TomTom itself runs very well on the device (and it runs on my device too), my only problem is that the bluetooth will not work as long as these three files have not been deleted or rather been exchanged with the untouched files .
Let me explain that: If files have been deleted, the HD2 will restore them from the rom automaticly after a reboot and everything is fine. Most people who had to handle with the same problem (TomTom vs. Bluetooth) had success with this method, but a few devices deny the access on these files, so they can´t be deleted or renamed. So is mine.
And for this reason I asked for the original files from a working rom! It would make it possible for me to replace my corrupt files...
Has anybody of you guys a few minutes of time an wants to upload the three files please?
It would really make my day!!

If device deny access to files, they cannot be renamed or deleted, you cannot replace them with other files too... (do you tried Resco Explorer?)
I have made a personalized cab of TomTom Navigator which doesn't install the bluetooth-specific files. If needed I can upload it somewhere and give you the link via PM

You mean the device ID?
You can open the ttnavigator.bif with notepad in your PC for the device details.
How I fixed the problem
I had the same problem, so I deleted the three files with resco. Two of the files will "appear" not to be deleted because they are ROM files. The important thing is that you need to have a shortcut to BTTrayCE.exe in \Windows\Startup.
Thanks for the posts!
As I said, it´s not possible to delete the files in my case...thats why i want some original files to exchange them.
...Is nobody out there how wants to upload these three little files for me? ...
I had this, All I did was launch TC, goto \windows do a select bt* delete all files, and it fails to delete most of them, but soon as I did that BT came back to life....
I can't help with the missing files as my device has still to arrive but I read that installing version 7.915.9196 VGA from HTC Iolite works without the bluetooth problem.
hey guys i could really use that bluetooth file.. i sorta messed it up too with the tom tom...
Hey Londontownguy:
Thanks for your suggestion! But as i said above, i really don´t want to hard reset. And the 7.915.9196 VGA from HTC Iolite doesn´t contain the "healthy" files, so an installation without hardreset doesn´t fix the problem.
Now we are two people including phatjesus81...andagain:
...Is nobody out there how wants to upload these three little files?...
myeah..
i cant start my bluetooth anymore because last week after installing tomtom7 i got the error and baleeted BTTrayCE.exe somewhere , even though it is in my \windows\ folder together with the btcore and btsdkce50 dlls.. cant remove those..
so BBTrayCE.exe is in my windows folder right now , and bluetooth wont start.. does that have anything to do with the other two dll's still being there or am i a booboo?
i mean, i totally removed ttn..
so now i'm totally stuck..

Need a Little Help with Understanding ROM Extract

Hi All,
I need a little help in understanding something, either by explaination, or by directing me toa webpage, but everything I found really doesnt explain it.
I used 3 tools to extract a HTC ROM Leo, I used: NBHExtract, IMGFS utility (NBSpilt etc.) then used Package-tool to create the folders OEM and SYS, and now I'm stuck.
What I want to know is how do i go about making a cab file of something so I can install it? for example like the Messaging App. In the OEM folder it has two folders, one says for ex: HTCMessaging, the other says the same thing with .0409 on the end.
How would I go about being able to cab the messaging system files, registry etc, and cab it?
Thanks a million for any help.
Anyone? Or did I post in the wrong forum?
<Bump> sorry but I am still searching, I have been reading and reading for the last 12 hours and nothing is pointing me to a solution, let me clarify one thing. I am not wanting to know how to make a cab file, I know how to do that.
What I am trying to find out is how does one go about sorting in the example the HTC Messaging App and all the files needed to be installed into a cab, obviously 2 folders doesnt complete it, I know that possibly contacts, and appointments apps have to be put into the cab, but How would I go about finding out all the files needed to the appointment app, all the files needed for the contact app, and all the files needed for the Messaging App, so I could cab them individually and install them to test on a spare TP2 phone, I am not trying to flash it. I want to cab it so if it doesnt work or is unstable, I can uninstall it from the remove programs.
Anyone? I even tried New Visual Kitchen, but it crashes during the building of packages after the extraction process of the ROM.

[Q] How to enter flight mode during cab install

Hi,
I'm trying to create a single cab file that includes various actions, one of which is changing the today theme. I'm doing this with the use of WinCE Cab Manager by copying the today theme along with its two tdytoday & sdtoday gif's to \Windows then changing the registry to point to the new theme.
All of this works perfectly for me, expect, if I try installing the cab file while my GPRS/3G data connection is open, the installation takes an extra 2 minutes to install. ie: The theme changes ok but the process takes 2 minutes longer.
My question is this: How can I modify my cab file to either force the device into flight mode or better still, cancel the data connection during the install?
Please note that I have no programming experience so the use of setup.dll is unfortunately out of the question for me. I hope I can utilise some kind of registry change or pre xml provisioning via WinCE Cab manager to sort the issue.
I know I could easily stop the data connection first but would like to include this all into the cab file
Any help would be appreciated.. Many thanks Neil
I have no programing experiance and I'm using WinCE Cab manager
