I was wondering why doing a nbhExtract of my nbh file and doing a nbhGen right afterward did produced a new nbh file with a different size (+ 125 KB).
Is there a reason for that ?

I ALSO HAVE THIS PROBLEM,AND THE NEW NBH FILE CANNOT BE FLASHED TO MY DEVICE!

3. use "TyphoonNbfTool"
a. file---> open NBF ---> nk.nbf
b. tools ---> edit header data
c. edit only this -->

d. file ---> Save as ---> nk3.nbf
e. delete original nk.nbf and then rename nk3.nbf --> nk.nbf
4. run "ROMUpdateUtility.exe"
5.Watch the new ROm install

Any HTC (excluding new with AKU2) phone can be unlocked by changing these registry keys:
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001001 = 1 (RAPI)
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001005 = 40 (Cert)
This can be done using the attached registry editor (PHM regedit signed with the trusted HTC certificate).
3.install cert file through active syc and run

and also check the nk.nbf file you have created with typhoon tool, just check the file size, cuz some times it makes only 1 kb file

It was just 1kb.
But i fixed it

yes sure but you need to correct operator code in typhoon tool

Fixed with a newer version of tool, but now update process tells me I need a newer version of nk.nbf, as I can only upgrade and not downgrade...
Do you have a newer rom for me? Now am downloading an Imate SP5...

03_MainSplash.nb

How to generate a CORECT .nbh file from these files for HTC VOX?
I tried to use NBHgen.exe and nb2nbh.exe but it seems that those progs can`t produce a CORECT .nbh file for HTC VOX.
Any help is welcome!

I believe KaiserCustomRUU will puke when it reads your .NBH file has an Model ID of HERM*** instead of KAIS***. Other than that, both devices have 64Kb max chunk size and the Splash offset is $600. So you could hex edit the file and change HERM to KAIS, but why risk it? (edit - I forgot that Hermes has *TWO* splash files, making it even more risky).
What you could do instead is use the updated ROM Kitchen, perform steps (m) 1a to extract 02_MainSplash.nb from .NBH. Then perform (m) 10 to repack 02_MainSplash.nb as whatever.NBH for the Kaiser.
Rinse, repeat, reuse. Please share and post your updated .NBH files to the appropriate thread
nah, you're fine, change the HERM to KAIS in a hex editor and flash it.
thank you both for such quick responses and very valuable information!! i know information coming from two of the most infamous members is always GREAT information. hats off to you both lastly, how exactly would i change the herm to kaiser in hex editor? do i simply change the text and save? ive downloaded one and loaded the .nbh file. and i see the herm 100, but want to be sure on the process. thanks

so............tried the hex edit method and no luck. it gives me a blank boot screen when i try that. so, will have to go the long way alex mentioned or try and find the pic of the bootscreen.
Is it possible to convert .nbh to nk.nbf to be able to flash this rom on a prophet?
It depends on where the nbh is from. To do it, you'll have to dump it into SYS/OEM (I'd use a hypercore related tool for this) and then rebuild it into an OS.nb before converting it to nk.nbf for flashing.
Its HTC ELF original Rom...where can i find all tools?

In the prophet WM6 forum, there is a link to HyperCore kitchen.
I'm not sure if the ROM will work straight away on a Prophet, as they have different hardware...
edit: to dump the ROM you will need to use the attached files. Put the *.nbh in the same directory as the two files and then run the batch file.

I'm trying to get hold of BTHATCI.DLL file from HTC Kaiser, in order to get my new Samsung i780 working as BT modem with DUN profile. As I can't get that file straight out of \Windows dir in my Kaiser, I've managed to extract it from NBH/NB OS ROM files. However, I've spotted slight difference with file size - file extracted from NBH is 8704 bytes while the same file in my Kaiser is only 6252 bytes. I've double checked if I've extracted DLL from the same NBH image as is flashed to Kaiser, and I have no doubts. I did the same with official WM6.1 from HTC, and there's exactly the same thing.
I'm really confused, as I don't know if I should consider DLLs in device, and extracted from ROM as the same? Maybe there is some kind of compression applied in the device? Please advise. I'm really desperate to get my i780 working as BT modem. It works in Kaiser, and I've nailed this issue down to that single DLL, so I just want to copy it over from Kaiser (which works OK) to i780.
