Inbox does not download images by default in HTML emails.
You always have to click a link to download images.
Is there a way to download images by default?

i have been wondering this too, it drives me crazy
Can anybody help?
come on. some clever person must know the reg tweak for this?
any luck with this?
if i am not mistaken HTML E-Mails is only supported
1. if you have "Push" set up through an exchange server
2. if your exchange server is running Server 2007
hope this helps
good luck
Nope. HTML email is supported with normal pop email. No exchange server required.
that is correct on your desktop, however on your mobile phone i am pretty sure you need WM6.0 & Server 2007 to make HTML e-mial work. theoretically it can work through a POP account but your hosting company needs to run server 2007 & you need to be running WM6.0
good luck

i receive html email on my mobile phone, but the internet pictures do not automatically download...i have to manually do that...
that is the point of this post, the original poster is asking how to view HTML e-mails within the e-mail pane NOT to have to click a link to see them. to do this you need WM 6.0 & Server 2007
i will see if i can get access to an 07 exchance server and see if that works...
you need WM 6.0 also
Guys I am the original poster.
I do not use exchange - just a regular pop account.
When I download email, it downloads in HTML format: eg the email is in pretty colours and full of links etc and some images. However, sometimes a link appears that says "Click here to download images". After you click the link the images appear.
All I want to do is to enable all image downloads by default.
I am assuming it is a simple on/off toggle in the registry.
It is not a simple toggle and it cannot be implemented in WM5. In WM6, however, you can do this.

I am using WM6
HTML email is not part of WM5!
great we are all agreed now it is only WM 6.0, however i still contend your e-mail host/server needs to be running Server 2007. someone correct me if i am wrong?
thanks

No, Exchange is 100% not needed.
I don't use it and my received emails are HTML not plain text. I just need to click the link to download some images.
Not downloading the attachment is the default setting to save your bandwidth.
If you are using Exchange server, then you can change the active sync settings on your phone to download the full message instead of just the first 2kb.
If you are not using Exchange then I think you cannot change that but I don't know for sure since I am only using Exchange 2007.
UM
Just set the phone to download all messages and not just the first few kb. Problem is still there. There is a link that says "Internet Pictures Blocked". If you click it they download.

Unless I am misinterpreting, the original post was asking how to download the pictures automatically.
IMAP from ANY provider (yahoo is GREAT for this, by the way) will allow picture viewing in your wm6 device. But WM6 does NOT display images by default. In addition, there is no way to chose a selection and download pictures embedded in email automatically.
However,
There MUST be a registry setting that will allow just that: download pictures automatically in html wm6 email.
Can someone find it?
anyone know how to delete the standard "Outlook Email" account on outlook? just would like to get rid of the extra outlook folders.

Hi. I'm using Samsung i780 at WM 6 Prof. Is it already possible to download emails in HTML format, IMAP, thru ActiveSync? How?

If you're looking to get HTML mail via Activesync you'll need to be connecting to an Exchange 2007 server. Exchange 2003 does not support HTML mail over activesync.
Hi,
Is there any way of installing Live Messenger on HTC Raphael?
I had it on my HTC S710 WM6.
Can i copy it from the S710 to my new Rahpael?
Thanks

maybe?
not one of those worked on my fuze.... really frustrating trying to get my hotmail email on my fuze.. you would think microsoft would make it easy for you to use MICROSOFT hotmail when using your MICROSOFT windows mobile phone...
This will probably not help you much but monx has included Live Messenger into ROMeOS².
Maybe he could provide you a working cab-file?!
HTH
f*ck it, i'm pissed, so i ended up making a gmail account, and just forwarding my hotmail to gmail. everybody's been telling me to do that for a while, this is what finally got me to do it cant believe how easy it was to set up a gmail account on the fuze!!

I had the same problem and used the same sollution ... just took a g-mail account to forward my e-mail to.
It is possible
Hi,
It is kind of a effort to get Windows Live Messenger to work on a Raphael without it being pre-installed. Trust me, I know. I went through the same pains as you guys did. Every cab file I downloaded just simply didn't work....
But I've found a solution, but it's kinda tedious to do it. And I can't really remember what I exactly did. In general this is the process:
1) Download a registry editor, for example Resco Explorer or PHM registry editor (google it)
2) Download the cab file for Windows Live (without messenger) from Microsoft.com
3) Download Windows Live Messenger 10.6.39.1300.cab. It floats somewhere on xda-developers
4) Pick up your old WM device with Windows Live pre-installed and also install a registry editor on it
5) Install the registry editor on your Raphael. After that install Windows Live with messenger. Don't start it!
6) On your desktop open the Windows Live cab (no messenger) from Microsoft with winrar (http://www.rarlabs.com) and extract the xml file located in it. Open this xml file with notepad
7) In this file scroll down until you see the registry edits it uses when installing. What you need to do is compare these to the ones in the registry of your Raphael. I can remember that a string named "Login" was missing from my Raphael, so I manually added it to the registry of my Raphael. But there are more that I can't remember.
8) Take your old phone and compare its registry entries for Windows Live Messenger to
the registry of your Raphael. Copy these over.
9) Start Windows Live every now and then to see if it works. When it doesn't compare the registry entries again and copy some over. Eventually it will work...
I told you it is a lengthy process, but eventually I got it to work...
I am no programmer so I don't know how to make a cab file for automatic addition of these entries. Please try it this way. When it doesn't work, I'll try to dig into my registry and post the entries here.
Scott
Weird... I can get my hotmail emails through the messaging, and i didn't have to do anything fancy....
I made a cab running for any TPhere the link:
http://rapidshare.com/files/158640294/WLMMob10.6.0034.08.cab
It is the same posted in wiki
works great! thanx!
only windows live cab that worked on my fuze thanks
I usually save my outlook emails for offline reading and archiving but I have noticed that my Toshiba TG01 cannot natively open the .msg file extensions. Anyone with an idea on an app which can open the emails?
Why don't you save them as HTML ?
