Battery status always 0% while power is ok - General Topics

Hello, everyone:
I've got a strange problem with my JAQ4: its battery status is always 0%, but the battery can last 1.5 days and i can recharge it, just the indicator is always at 0%.
The problem appears after I ran pbar_1.3, does it has something to do with this problem? It's a wonderful software although.
I've hard-reset JAQ4 but the problem persists, and I can't get another battery for verification Give me some advices experts, thanks.

I have never encountered a problem such as this, and the only suggestion I can give you after completing a hard reset would be to re-flash/flash a ROM to your device.

Ye i second neptune's post, i would say to first try a hard reset and then from there if this dosent work further more run the rom installation again.

I've hard-reset it several times but it doesn't work. I don't know how to re-write the rom, so have to leave it just like this
Thanks neptune and matt.

There are other people that have had the same problem and it usually turn out that their battery is just not compatible with batterystatus. There's nothing you can really do about it other than getting a different battery.

BIG PROBLEM!! with T-MobileSDA II(US)

I've bought lightly used T-MobileSDA II(US) -HTC Tornado!! It haven't any tracks of taking apart under the cover!! But when I take away battery even for a few seconds my time and date are missed to date of making the phone.....maybe someone knows what to do with my phone??? I think trouble in backup battery!! but what happened with it?
I'm not sure about the SDA, but the Cingular 2125 with WM5 did the same thing and I think that's normal behavior. If you flash up to a WM6 or WM61 that problem goes away as the date and time are set from the carrier.

... not for me! I had this issue with standard WM5 ROM. I then upgraded my ROM to WM6.1, but if I remove the battery, the time and date are still reset to original ROM date. So, no change from original ROM as far as resetting time and date is concerned.
I wouldn't call it a problem though. Sync your phone with your PC and within seconds, the time and date are set to the present, so it's no big issue... just a bit annoying!
I'm thinking your phone doesn't have a backup battery.
I know mine doesn't.
I don't think it has anything to do with the OS.

Thats a known problem with Tornado's. When new, the backup battery keeps time for a few minutes after you remove battery, after some short period of time(in my case about 2 months) it stops doing that. However, its not a dead backup battery. Run Celetask, go to TOOLS... POWER STATUS... and notice that Backup Battery status is HIGH, 255% 0mV.
My personal conclusion is... WM6 on Nitro's ROM has some script that tracks and saves "last known time". When you remove battery and power up again, it reads and displays that "last known time". Notice that if you leave it w/o battery for a 10 minutes, time will be 10min off. However, if you enable the "Automatic Time Zone" under the time settings, it will sync time with service provider(if they have that feature).
Not sure if other 6.0Roms do that to, its why I'm asuming its a tweek or script by Nitro.
Now, going back to that Power Status... Shouldn't HIGH be 100%? 255% would be over charged? 0 mV = 0 power? lol Ok, someone pull out the backup battery and messure voltage on it ) I'm not responsible!
yeah! celeTask show that. if i wouldnt sell my Tornado ill try to upgrade it to WM 6
Replace back up battery
I think your SDA needs a new back up battery. But, you will have to dismantle whole SDA before you can see small, steel color flat battery right behind key pad. I remember seeing somewhere on the net on how to dismantle SDA to replace keypad/broken screen!!
The same thing happened to me. The first few months I had the phone, when I took out the battery, the time didn't reset. But after the few months, it would. I assume it is due to an internal battery gone dead.
There is a solution however, when I upgraded to a wm6 ROM, it fixed itself. It adds a feature where the time is automatically updated from the network, so I no longer have any problem with the time
That being said though, when I posted this before, someone else said it had to do with the tornado radio update, and not installing wm6 specificly. Anyways, if you update your ROM with the IPL, SPL (spelling?) and wm6, it should work beautifully again
I have a T-Mobile SDA too, I think it's name exactly "Tornado Tempo" (it has 3 media buttons and 1 button for Internet)
And I wonder if these buttons will work when I flash the ROM to WM 6.1, what kind of ROM should I use? Can I save the original ROM for backup (tell me what software to do it)? Thanks alot ?

Touch Pro Hard Reset While Charging

Hello,
Here is my issue, i have the latest TAEL Sense ROM from December. My phone just hard reset when i put it on charge while it's powered ON. This has happen on 3 occasions and does not occur when the phone is OFF and charging.
Here is what happenned the last time. Battery was low, just plugged the phone in for charging, came by after 1 hour and saw a miss called, tried to get to the call history screen, but impossible, HTC Touch Sense was not responding.
I was able to get to the windows 6.5 application menu while using the HOME button. Then I used the reset shortcut to reboot the mobile.
Took a long time to reboot(Normal boot screen) and then gave me the Stylus configuration screen, and booted up again to configure TAEL sense rom.
Then everyting gone, contacts messages,... like a fresh HARD RESET...
Does anybody have a clue why this happen ?
Could there be some issue with my battery charger ? or USB Cable ?
Or is this a ROM related issue.
Thanks for your feedback on this one.
thanks for the heads up, man. pretty much the same as in my thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=613653
and i did forget to mention that both times it hard-resat itself, it was charging as well.
update: it resat itself when i got to work this morning, after being on charge all night.
same here 2 month ago with new Romeos: HR while charging...
did you solve it? any patterns?
Charging successful when mobile is OFF
Last night, i put my mobile on charge all night while it was switched off. when i booted it this morning, everything seems working fine... no resets...
There might be something going on with some applications that are installed on the mobile ?
all i had: calendar and contacts backup. t-mobile mms size fix cab, fuze keyboard fix cab. try leaving it on while charging!
disabled touch flo, put it on charge - nothing so far.
no resets so far - disabled the touch flo. any other feedback?
never mind: put it on charge earlier today and once i opened the keyboard the theme layout changed to stock, so i assume it's going to hard-reset once again
2 resets in one day
There has been 2 resets, yesterday night... i have tried to disabled HTC Sense and install Mobile Shell. but the OS was really unstable and when i rebooted was already hard reset... i wasn't charging the phone... seem to me, that this is an issue at the windows mobile 6.5 level... i'll post a link on Tael Roms page, maybe other persons have the same issue.
flashed back to stock 6.1 - no problems so far.
I've had the exact same problem, but with my Touch Pro 2. I started a thread here, but got no replies so far. I'm wondering if something in custom ROMs is causing this.
that's what it looks like. since reverting back to stock 6.1 no resets whatsoever. knock.knock.knock.

Problem after soft reset [Pola100]

Hi guys,
looks like I have a major problem now.
I installed Android 2.2 on my Polaris with panel 1. I used this configuration
"l1q1d - [NAND] - My latest nbh - Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo 2.2 [Deodexed] [RLS10] [7/10/10] Work All"
and I followed l1q1ds nand flashing tutorial.
First problem is a battery life - I recharged battery to her full and than let it in stand-by mode (wifi turned on, but in setting set to "turn off when in stand-by"). It didn't last even 9 hours - is that normal?
Now the major problem. When I plugged in the recharger Android woke up, but there was some problem with google acc, so I did soft-reset (by pressing bottom button with stylus), After that while booting android has gotten into an infinite loop.
On the screen I can see same text printing again and again. Only error I can see says:
"[RR] ERROR no local ept for prog 02000031 replying anyway!!"
last line says "set volume of 256 to 5" and sometimes "rpc_write".
I had same problem once when I first installed android, I solved it with re-flashing my Polaris. But I don't want to re-flash it every time I need to reboot...
Thanks for every suggestion and sorry for my english
When you soft reset you corrupt the filesystem on nand so it can't boot
solution is:
NEVER SOFT RESET THE PHONE!
if you need to reboot power off and power on
Thanks. I haven't seen any mention about it so sorry if it was a dumb question.
Anyway, is it ok if I get battery off and on?
EDIT: Well, now I realize that it was probably stupid and that it's not okay. But what should I do, when my Android freezes? It happend to me right now...
Wait for a while and if you can't wait you know that your system could be broken

Well, I waited for an hour and it didn't helped. So I get battery out and in again and it works...
think i got a similar problem. I run vaniliEclair RLS7c successful for a few days System and data both installed on NAND. Today the battery ran totaly empty after the 15% level warning.
After plug in the charger and reboot, Android starts with the google first-configuration screen. Apps where displayed in drawer but most of them had crashed while launching.
At least i had to restore all. Lucky point was, that i ve done a backup of all the stuff before with the great TitaniumBackup.
So my questions are:
why can data get damaged when the battery is empty, or a soft-reset is performed? Whats the difference to WM thats IMHO installed in NAND too. Never had a crash in WM after battery loss/softres.
Does the Pola200 ow a internal backup battery to keep the NAND alive? Or is there a GoldCap capcitator for NAND who runs empty when the battery reaches this deadly level?
Cheers Matthias
I also have this problem. Sometimes, my system becomes unresponsive and the only solution is to reset my device. My surprise usually comes after this... when I end up having to wipe the user data to boot!
Hi,
I have to bring up this thread again because my Pola200 (NAND installation) keeps on freezing and often is not working correctly after a soft reset.
After a soft reset after a freeze some apps don't work anymore. They startup and are forced to close immediately.
But not all apps. All apps that came with the system work and some I installed through the market (Colorid and GPS Test for example).
Some only loose configuration like login settings and some simply close.
Is there any way to repair the file system, if this is the cause?
Regards
Rene
There is no tool for repair it because yaffs2 is a quite raw fs so if nand driver fails kernel write in wrong part of the memory.

[q] 1e fatal hit 1

Hi guys....,
Can anyone help me with my problem....
Installed a Desire HD ROM on my HD2 last January....
Everything is doing great, love the ROM..., until one day it freezes, I remove the battery cover to reset my device, while booting, an error occurred displaying 1E FATAL HIT 1 in MAGLDR.... (damn!).... remove my battery again and it keeps on resetting and resetting, until it enters MAGLDR (1.11) and displaying the error again. Since then it freezes, maybe on a day basis, maybe 5 freezes and rebooting, tsk.... In some instances whenever I'm watching movies, or playing games, it freezes and makes a weird noise especially when it uses the speaker, the noise is just like a static electricity... and it is hot, the device and the battery....
After that I thought, maybe may ROM is corrupt, or the MAGLDR, or the radio I installed (2.15.....), so I reinstalled everything, try a different ROM, update my MAGLDR to 1.13 and even do the Task 29, but my problem stills occurs, still displaying 1E FATAL HIT 1 and still freezes...
Can someone help me, is it still a software malfunction or hardware, I hope not.
Thanks guys.
that doesnt sound good and imho is hardware related. Just a thought though, have you tried a different sd card?
Nope haven't tried a new sd card..... even if my sd card is not inserted, it got the same problem....
when you reflashed everyback back to square one so to speak, did you flash back to stock winmo rom and if so did the issue still persist?
been busy for awhile....
yup I flashed back to stock winmo rom, and it does persist, same error even if i'm in winmo, I guess same error, it doesn't display sa 1E Fatal Hit 1 because winmo doesn't have MAGLDR, but it hangs... Tsk....
Time to visit a repair centre i think, soz dude.
OMG... Maybe that's the last resort... Thank you sir....
del
I had 1E fatal HIT and its problem on you hardwere temperature I had Windows Mobile 6.5 and had a same problem. So intall Android OS and you will have minimal errors on this fatal HIT problem.

Did you try hard boot?
1e fatal hit 1
well guys get ready when you look into this its going to piss you off but the heat has desadered your contact you know that buzz you get just before reset the last ditch effort to stay operable going to pull my phone apart tonight and see if hardware can be repaired peace out
ok here you go have to completely wipe sd card with easus partition manager will take some time at first will act like nothing is going on after one min. remove bat then reboot and hold up and down toggle to reset the should come back ok worked for me
Ok, so i had this exact problem yesterday. Same issue, same screen. This is what i did, it doesnt mean it might work for you but i bet it should. Although in my case the phone will just freeze after some time using it since its really a hardware failure. But at least youll be able to flash it. First i recharged the battery overnight with an external battery charger(Mine is a china cheap charger so i guess any of those will do the job. Then i put the HD2 without the battery of course inside the freezer(since the problem is overheating and this has been done forever since integrated circuits existed(everyone knows the cooler your machine the faster it works). Wrap it with some plastic so that it will not grab any water inside the phone obviuosly. Leave it there for a while. Then take it out put the battery in and try to flash it. Youll see that it will flash without any errors. The problem is that if your phone is as messed up as mine was the problem will persist after some time using it. It will freeze and will get stock. So i think theres not much we can do about it! But if you want to at least flash it succesfully you can do that.
you could try a new phone.
Well, we are talking about the problem with his phone. But yeah anyone can try that option with succes. And to give some kind of update, my HD2 was left for a while cooling off. Now its working like theres nothing wrong with it. I cant talk about the future but it has been working like a charm for about two hours now.
It fixed with me
It fixed with me
I Have same same error, finally last boot when he stick in that error appear in the screen, i pressed the soft reset button in the back, Works and booted normally

[4.4.3] Screen not showing in Battery Stats / ScreenOnTime not being logged

Hello everyone,
Has anyone experienced the bug in 4.4.3 where screen on time is not being logged anymore and the screen does not show up in the integrated battery stats? If yes, is there a fix and if not, will this be fixed?
I want to avoid factory resetting my phone though, so if there is no solution I think I'll just live with it.
Thank you

have you tried rebooting? and, do you have root? if so, using a root file explorer, delete /data/system/batterystats.bin and reboot.
Hi,
If you just recently updated your phone, it's possible that the battery stats have been reset, and usually just media server and all those things appear as the biggest battery consumers. If you fully charge your phone it should show the correct usage again.
Hope this works.
Hello,
Thanks for your answers
Unfortunately I haven't rooted yet, but I think I might invest time to do that if it can fix the issue. Rebooting hasn't helped nor fully charging it. It just seems like the OS doesn't even log the display stats anymore, although the bar in the battery monitor for screen on is still there
