Voice Command, Voice speed dial, Voice Commander - General Topics

Can anybody tell me what are the differences between
VoiceCommand 1.6
Cyberon Voice Commander
and the voice speed dial that comes with the hermes itself.
I am confused as to why people are going for voice commander and voice command while there is a inbuilt software to do it already?
Which is the best and advanced out of the three for hermes and links to download?
When we install other than the built in one, do we need to remove the voice speed dial out of hermes before installing the voice command or voice commander?
Please help

VoiceCommand 1.6 is a M$ program. It doesn't require "learning" anyone can use it and it will let you dial just numbers, call contacts, check calender appts, etc...
Cyberon and the voice speed dial that comes with the TyTN is the same I believe. If you open the settings on the built in Voice Speed Dial and go to the "about" tab, it's made by Cyberon.
And that program only lets you dial numbers that must be "learned" by the program.
If you install VC1.6 you do not need to uninstall the built in program.

thanks jinner, is there any extracted version of VC1.6 floating around

How can I uninstall the built in Cyberon. It's not in the 'remove programm' section?

If it's not showing under "Remove Programs" then that means it must be built into the ROM. You can often remove the links and references to it (the Hermes Wiki shows how to for that device) but the program will still be inside. The only way to remove it totally is to flash another ROM without it built in.

I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=283412&page=7
The info is old and I doubt that I can use this for the Touch? There's also a newer version of MS VC, so I just need help how to remove the cyberon app or how to just make inactive, i.e. remove links to the app. Anyone?

This is not true. Cyberon's Voice Command and Voice Commander are two different application. The later doesn't require voice tag.

Why not need to deinstall? MS Voice Command doesn't work well with Cyberon installed too. Bluetooth headset and carkit can't activate MS Voice Command! It only works when you assign a hardware button form the device. That doen't work for me and most people I know who use it in the car...

Looking for dialing program for WM5

Is there any program which allows you to edit a number to be dailed such as adding a prefix in WM5? Also, is there any program allows you to edit those number in "call history"?
the dailing program in O2 XdaIIs are very useful and quite complete. is there any third party who can provide similar program?
Your heading is slightly misleading. You're looking for a dialer *editing* program.
And the short answer to your questions is no, not at the moment.
I'd assume a utility to edit the dial history isn't too difficult, but I can't understand why you'd want that. You dialed a number, so that's what it displays. Now you want to change that? Why? It's history. It's done. Why change the record?
As to the "program which allows you to edit a number to be dailed such as adding a prefix", nope. I assume you mean enabling scrolling left and right within the typed number to change something.
That's much more difficult, as it would entail writing a program that would sit on top of the Dialer (replacing Intellidial, for a start), enabling the dialer editing
Have you tried the WM5 version of Photo Contacts Pro?

Voice Activated Texting?

This might have been asked before, so please forgive me if it has.
Is there any software that can be used to activate text features and translate voice to text?
Also is there any software that would launch the phone (via voice) and dial a contact (via voice) whilst Sat Nav software is running?
Cheers

i think theres a virtual secretary prgoram called SAPIE or something that lets you do that... google for it, im sure youll find it..
Hmm, doesn't sound great:
The diary function is too limited, and voice recognition has too many limitations and inaccuracy for me. Played with it for about an hour then set about deleting from PPC and PC. Uninstall routine left a lot of dross behind, including the main exe on the PC. Had to do some manual removal of several files. I won't be re-installing it.

You could use my VJPhoneTools to call from a shortcut. Using VoiceCommand you could launch that, eg, "Start CallVJ" will launch the shortcut CallVJ.lnk, which will start the phone and call me.

Have been using Cyberon Voice Spped dial. Works well with all ROMs and is compatable with most BT headsets. Easy to configure and can be used for contacts as well as opening applications. You will find a download link in these foruns by using the search button.
Try to download 1.2 version and not 1.1 version, as this allows you to save and retrieve your voice data.

Cyberon voice commander vs. Contact category

My Kaiser comes with Cyberon Voice commander (CVC), however, the default CVC behavior is to include ALL contacts for voice recognition! I have over 1200+ contacts in my contacts and most of them are business associates that I will NEVER want to call them with my phone with CVC. However they are needed to stay in my Contacts for email and provide phone number lookup when I use company phone to make calls.
I do have people I definitely want to use CVC to make call and most of them are under either 'family' or 'friends' categories. (maybe only around 100 people)
The voice recognition success rate also goes down a lot due to so many people has similar names. This makes CVC almost unusable for me if I don't disable all those contacts that doesn't need voice control.
The problem is in CVC control applet, you can only disable contact ONE-BY-ONE by hand! Not even a "disable all" function available! Also, new contacts are automatically added into voice control database....
So, is there anyway to have a function like "disable all" so I can add in only the contact I want, or even better, add only contacts under certain categories (such as "family") but not others?
Thanks in advance!
good question, I would like to know if theres a way also.......

Microsoft Voice Command?
MS Voice command
MS Voice command version 1.6 or 19209 or in latest 19213 does the same. You'll have to select or check the option in settings section and it will do the same

Thanks Guys!!
Cyberon Voice Commander is anothe option as well.
I have cyberon voice commander 3 and I don't see the option to announce incoming calls. Hopefully it will be added in the final release.
Link for the beta:

It works a lot better than MSVC and I like the option to add voice tags to a contact/command so that it works even better.
