I have been interested in seeing web apps for wm devices (ala what you can get on Iphone through Safari). Are there any such apps? Any specific browser needed to get these apps? OR Safari port for windows mobile?
There are Opera Mobile - Internet Explorer - Deepfish (beta and it sucks) and Opera Mini 4 (Java, works great (except you don't have touchscreen moving interface) but it's cheaper so better (less data to download).
I don't think there are others

As far as Safari widgets are concerned, they can't be used on WM and can't be ported either.
that is, you need to rely on alternate technologies. Fortunately, better WM browsers support Flash, Java applets, Web services, Ajax and the like.
You can find an answer to ALL your questions in my Web Browsing Bible: http://forum.xda-developers.com:80/showthread.php?t=301009
apple is not really known to port to wm
and is as closed sourcecodewise as ms
are you are talking about some widget kinda
things for safari ?
yeah.. how can i find a safari-like web application experience on wm. is there a listing of "windows mobile web apps" -- i don't mean the browser itself.

Can anyone recommend a good browser with multiple tabs at the top to view more than one browser - other than Internet Explorer.
I have an XDA 1.
I want to use the online MSN Web Messenger, but it requires you to open a new window and Internet Explorer does not allow you to do so.
Thanks.

I use homeseer for home automation... the guys there are using nokia 800 and 810's... also iphones and other devices..
they said the new plugin is not compatible unless I meet...
blurb....
A typical use for this package would be for touch screen usage. I wrote this for use on my Linux based Nokia N800 with a Mozilla browser, however it can be used on any system with a web browser that is supported. This includes IE5+ and tested with the latest versions of Mozilla, Firefox, Safari and Opera, however they must be Javascript enabled.
so does the wm6 have javascript? also I guess I need to get one of the other browsers listed then???
Thanks
Jeff
p.s. link for you to see the plugin in action

Basics: I can't seem to get Internet pages to view properly. Many are too large for my screen or are forced zoom in/out.
More Details: I'm using a HTC 6900 with Sprint Service and unlimited data. I've been through many ROM's, but ever since I went to WM 6.1 my Internet pages have not been loading like they did with WM 5. I am currently using NFSFAN's WM 6.5 v13. I have also tried Opera Mobile and it also seems to have the same problems. I have searched these forums and the ppcgeeks forums with no luck and only 1 or 2 mentions of the problem so maybe its a rare occurrence? I have tried both Mobile View and Desktop View options and neither corrects the problem.
Examples: ESPN Mobile website now has to be scrolled sideways to see entire page where as before it would fit-to-screen. Same occurs with afterdawn mobile. Slashdot mobile will not even load into any sort of mobile view, just gives me the normal website view.
I believe you have IE6 on your ROM, which means it will render differently since it is designed as a desktop browser. If you want old IE you'll have to change to a 6.1 or earlier ROM most likely.
Opera Mobile can be customized by going to aboutpera in the address bar(or used in mobile view mode in settings).
If you want awesome mobile browser, though, get Opera Mini. It is Java, so get a good Midlet Manager, like the latest jBed. It renders everything well in QVGA (like your device) and works perfectly for mobile pages.
There are other browser options but I definitely prefer the Operas.
Hi-
With Android, WM, RIM, and Symbian which is the best platform for accessing sites like citibank or other https sites to pay bills? I have had problems with the blackberry browser and opera 4.2. Anyone have luck with android?
Thanks!
On me experience WM is a stable platform for what you need.
I have used for transactions like those you mention and never had any problem since 2003.
Hello I've just joined. My question is a frustrating one. I have a Nokia Lumia 520 windows phone running Denim after the update. I've tried various browsers but I cannot access certain chat sites that state they support HTML5 for smartphones. I've noticed that most of these sites don't provide an app and are java based which isn't used on the windows phones. The nearest I get is a splash screen loading that's it. Is there any work around? Browsers used Internet Explorer, UC Browser, Opera Mini beta(unstable), Surfy. Thanks in advance.
