Where can I find an Orange, Gold, Or Old Bronze Theme for WM5/WM6 - General Topics

Hi people
I had SPB Mobile Shell installed for a while, and well I finally took the plunge, and uninstalled it and replaced ith with HTC Home. Well needless to say I am liking HTC Home a lot more (smaller footprint and such).
However one thing I do miss, is the Old Bronze Theme built in into the program. I have searched high and low on the forums and across google, but I have come up with nothing regrettably. Thus my request is, does anyone have a theme, similar to that, or that theme in particular. Or do you know where I can find an orange colour theme (like on the E-Ten Glofiishes), or Gold, or another type of Old Bronze theme?
Thanks guys, really appreciate the help

You can actually use your old theme. You can just change the color of the upper and lower system trays using VJBASEHUE: http://www.vijay555.com/index.php?Releases:VJBaseHue
If you don't like VJBaseHue, you can change them manually, through the registry. Just use the color chart provided in VJBaseHue ZEBOXX: http://www.vijay555.com/vj/releases/vjbasehue/colors/colors.html to find the appropriate COLOR you desire. Here is the registry:
Use a registry editor,
Browse to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Colour\
edit the "BaseHue" value and change it to (whatever number you desire based on the interactive color chart) Decimal.
Good Luck...

Theme Creation for Windows Mobile 5

I know this has been asked before, but I didn't find any solid answers on how to go about creating a theme for a WM5 device (my Qtek 9100, for example). Microsoft's official theme creator dates back to PPC2003, and Kamware's ThemeMaker M is giving me errors and closing. Is there anything else out there that can create themes for WM5 devices?
My plan was actually to create a series of themes for this community using the Origami Project's gallery on its website (located at http://origamiproject.com/gallery/gallery.aspx ). I already have the right sizes for the wallpaper (320x294 for both portrait and landscape), and all I need to do now is create matching color schemes for these backgrounds. I'd really appreciate it if somebody could help me find a good WM5 theme creation tool!
I'd write Kamware and tell them to fix theirs
The only other one specifically targetting WM5 that I've seen is...
http://www.codeppc.com/telechargements/themegence/themegence.htm
It's very actively being developed (just noticed it bumped up a version, actually), so if you run into any issues you can let the author know. Be sure to download the Anglais version if you want English
This program works relatively well... the only problem is that the theme colors still don't seem to work for me. I can only seem to get a dark blue color to show up, and SOMETIMES red. I still can't get green to work.

Crossbow Fonts

Hi, I'd like to make my fonts look like the ones that they advertise with the crossbow. I mean i'd like to have my whole system with those fonts but i don't know how. I've done tons of searching but i could not find anything that would help me change the fonts of my whole system (unless i build my own rom with those fonts but that's too complicated for me). Is there another way? i've found some threads that's suppose to change the fonts but it messed up my fone, others do not change the whole system but just some fonts. All WM6 roms that i've used do not have those fonts that I'm talking about. I'd like to make it like the fonts on this picture. Can someone help me please?
Is there anyone out there who can help/suggest something/make me read another thread/tell me it's not possible/whatever...?anyone?

I don´t think it is so easy - but what about cleartype. The font doesn´t look so different for me. Just cleartype?? Don´t know.
Start - settings - screen - enable cleartype.
And there are registry hacks to enable it also in landscape mode. (Registrywizard or HTweakC)
thanks, but i already have cleartype on. not quite the same but i really appreciate ur reply. With over 240+ views, i finally received a reply. At least i can say ur one of the few people out there who genuinely lend a helping hand to others. I really appreciate it thanks again
Looking at the screengrabs I think they're from a VGA device (a HTC Universal for example), which is why the fonts looks slightly smoother and more rounded. The font on the XDA Exec I borrowed looked a lot nicer than my XDA Mini-S just because it was higher res, despite the actual screen real-estate being used in the same way (IE. although the screen was higher res, everything was larger to compensate). The effect I saw looked just like in some of your screenshots - particularly the first portrait one.
thanks paulmdx!i guess that explains it. it probably looks different because of the vga screen. Thanks, i guess i'll just have to give up on wishing that my fonts be like that
Sorry for my late response...I was suppose to reply back to you after you reminded me that the fonts could be changed...I managed to change the fonts by adding the files to the font folder in the \windows\fonts directory...the extention you are looking for is .ttf...I tried to use a font with a different extention and it didn't work...also if you are looking for fonts then your best bet is http://dafont.com ...they have the best looking fonts, and they have popular fonts used in movies, video games, etc...the one that I am running is aiight, and the one that i put on my girl's is the Walt Disney font...one more thing, after you put the fonts on your ppc you will need to have a program to change the font for you, or you'll need to either change some registry key to enable it (I don't know the keys), or use a program like Tweaks2k2.net to change it...it's not a free program, but you'll be able to use the program 3 times before you have to register it...I don't if you were looking for the font used in WM6 or you were looking for a way to change fonts on the ppc, but anyways here's some info for those who wanted to do this...
Btw this only changes some fonts, but not all of them...it's better this way just in case you put a font that is blurry, too small, etc...while I was trying out fonts for my girl's phone, this happened to me...if all the fonts on the ppc were changed, I wouldn't have been able to find the options easily to change the font...looks awesome though...even my keyboard font changed...my cousin said I'm ghetto because my font looks like tagging lol...
Missing font!
While we are on this topic.....Some of my fonts are messed up!
I installed the 10 button Comm Manager and couldn't get the WLAN to activate. I then went back to the 8 button Comm Manager. Later I found a fix for the 10 and uninstalled the 8. When I did it messed up my fonts. Does anyone have the stock fonts they can send me?

Green WM5 Dialer Skin

So full of questions today. I downloaded and quickly fell in love with the default green skin provided on this forum (I believe it was by a gentleman named Paul... not 100% sure on that one, but thank you to whoever made my Wizard look lovely). I was wondering if there happened to be a dialer skin that went along and matched the lovely green.
Thanks!
A good place to start looking is >HERE<, where you will find loads of great skins - all provided free and gratis by SwampCat....an excellent skin designer. I'm pretty sure I've seen some scary green dialer skins on there...you're bound to find one you like!!
Cheers,
Mark.
You might want to try the attached dialpad skin, too.

[REQ] CoPilot Live 8 THEME

Hello boys'n'girls
I just watched a YouTube video of a CoPilot/HD2 review, and it looks like the guy have a "black theme" installed for his CoPilot.
I bought CoPilot for my TOPAZ some time ago, and of course I moved it to my new LEO. For all the time I have used CoPilot, I have been searching the web like an insane little monkey for some themes for CoPilot since the red/blue theme is killing me...
(not litterally killing me, just trying to make a point)
I haven't been able to find any themes anywhere.
When I saw the vid on YouTube, I e-mailed the guy that made it via his website and asked him where he got it. He hasn't replied yet...
My question/request is if anyone of you either know of a place where to get some themes, or if one of you wonderfully creative people could perhaps start making some?
Thanks in advance
PS: Here is the vid from YouTube:

Yes I know it's not available from the CoPilot Central...
Nothing really is
But since they are so slow to make some themes themselves, perhaps someone else could?
I guess, that if you know what you're doing, it shouldn't be too hard...!?
This guy also have it with a black theme (and he's got really small hands too)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHB_8_4cBw4&NR=1
Seriously...
I know that italian men are tiny, but comon...
The HD2 looks like a netbook in his hands
Edit: HD2 in Italian/Danish hand for comparison...
copilot skin
hi,
I have the same problem, I hate the red/blue theme of copilot and i want a black theme like in the videos above.
The only thing I've find is that the UI pictures are stored in \Copilot\Skin\skin.dat
if you open this file with an hexadecimal editor you'll see that it is composed of many png files (more than 1000 pictures !!)
I'm able to extract one png but I'm not able to replace the picture, if I try copilot doesn't start anymore.
so if someone have a solution...
My friend is here with his HD2...
He has the CoPilot trial installed, and his is black like the one in the vids.
His version number is 8.0.0.457
Mine is 8.0.0.346
Perhaps this is the issue...!?
I'll try and copy his skin.dat file over to my device and see if that works...
If it does, I will post it here for download
Here are the Skin !
I have 8.0.0.457 with the black skin.
I can mail them because is not possible to upload them at the moment.
BR Tom
It works fantastic!
I just copied his entire skin folder over to my device, and et voila!
Looks bloody amazing
Here is the skin folder for download, enjoy!

Just UnRar and copy over the excisting skin folder on your device
A couple of the buttons are white on my device, that are black on his...
But overall, it looks sooo much better than the blue/red theme
I thought all the CoPilots that come pre-installed on the HD2 have the black skin? Mine does.

Propably.
I installed the downloaded and paid for version I had on my SD card...
- which has a blue/red theme.
Perhaps I should do a hard-reset and register the pre-loaded version, it seemed like there were a few differences between the two versions from just looking at the two side-by-side...!?

maybe it's because it lacks severals UI pictures.
The skin.dat file you post is about 4 Mo
and for example my skin.dat (copilot 8.0.0.346) is 6Mo
but for the white background of the popup menu I have a solution, see my next post
solution for white background
To have a black interface for copilot 8.0.0.346 (without the bug of white popup background) copy the attached file in your copilot\skin\ folder:

Perfect!
It's now black and beautiful!
Just uploaded on to my X1i with Copilot Live 8.0 on it..
NICE! Well done chaps.. Looks so much better!
Just need some other things to become available from ALK, like some voices and other things... I think they're a bit lame having all the features on Central 2.0 and then not actually following up the development!! Come on ALK pull your finger out!

So true!
If they really want to conquer the market, they should start making some of the "premium services" and the normal extras available soon...

Id like to see more of these good and important reflections about users
and their handsets. Nice going!
Im curently useing my HTC Desire and trying to get this black
theme to work with the android version.
I got a message saying "Extracting theme" but I cant choose it in the
theme menu.
Any suggestions?
fyi, tried to make this work with latest version of copilot 8.0.0.644 and it just breaks the app. wish they just put out an official theme for this. any chance you guys could help me make this work on this version?
Yeah, I tried it and it didn't even show up in my themes area to install. We need a skin for the latest version for sure.

[Q] Font colour location

Being new to android, I am slowly finding out how to customise the look and feel to suit me.
One thing I can't figure out is how to change the font colour in the attached photo, I'm not sure what this bit is called. But light blue is a terrible colour and I would like to change it to white or black if possible.
Can anyone tell me where this might be done? The OS is 4.2.2.
Hard
I am guessing by the huge amounts of replies, that changing the colour of this item is incredibly difficult and beyond the capabilities of most of the people on this forum.
anyone?
I must be in the wrong forum.
Well you could have saved some time and looked at it yourself. It is set in the system ui apk and defined in framework res. Depending on your device. See that's the thing it really depends on the rom and device. It is different for each. Not to mention there are plenty of tuts that would have told you the same thing.
thanks
Thanks, you couldn't point out one of these tuts could you? If I knew what the thing I want to change is called too, that would be helpful.
found it
It's called statusbar, and now I know it's name I can search for info on it.
Google returns a lot of results for 'thingy' or 'wotsit' but rarely the results you are looking for.
Conclusion
The thingy in the original post is called the status bar.
It is defined in /system/app/SystemUI.apk
Editing it requires a piece of software called apktool.
I now have white text instead of pale blue.
Thanks to zelendel for the clue.
All is now good.
As a slight aside, I found both a status_bar.xml and a gemini_status_bar.xml in SystemUI.apk and my phone appears to be using the gemini one. What practical use this is I don't know. The phone is a U51GT-C4B if anyone cares, it's as big as will fit in your jacket pocket without requiring the services of a tailor and makes using rdesktop so much easier.
It doesn't make your fingers any less fat, but it makes typing easier because the letters are further apart.
