Yesterday I installed PocketHotmail 2.5 beta, and I just can't get the critter to work on my Qtek S110. After following the instructions exactly, I still can't authorize the account.
Does anyone know of a program that gives Hotmail support to the Inbox program? Or maybe a program that can replace Inbox (perhaps even with a function that lets me send and recieve mail for all my accounts with one click)?
Thanks in advance !
Why dont you try Pocket MSN, its built-in with any Windows Mobile device. Just sign-in, enter your hotmail e-mail add and password, thats it. Hotmail account will automatically be added to the messaging accounts once signed-in. Cheers.
pocket msn is just too big and overloaded. a simple tool like pockethotmail (costs 5 dollar) is definitely the better solution.
i've tried it too with no success. i already contacted the developer yesterday but have no reply yet, i'll let you know what he says, ok?
cheers, lutz
Hi guys, thanks for your replies. I've already tried a new program called HTTPmail provider wich works perfect. The only thing is the function that says "download headers only" does not disable the attachments. Oh well, it gets the job done! Hope you guys can use it as well .
Yes, I use Http hotmail, and it's works properly for me too.
See you
hey guys....
what is this http hotmail ?? is it http://www.hotmail.com or is it a program named http hotmail if its a program called http hotmail could someone please post it caz ive googled it to no result.....
thanks
The program is called HTTPmail Provider and enables you to use Hotmail in your Inbox.
So it's HTTPmail Provider .
just downloaded it from pocketgear.com.....thanks have'nt tried it as yet will see how it works
regards
Alright! If you need any help, let me know . The only problem with the program is that it downloads attachments automatically, but I do have an older version .
alrite mate.....if any prob will surely let u know....
cheers...

i cannot download hotmail emails..... i have a @hotmail.co.uk account would this have any effect ?
regards
is HTTP mail working for you guys on WM6.1?
Thanks
try this
When adding a new account I entered [email protected] in the email address box. This allowed me to get to the next available settings needed to configure the account. Once I configured and setup the account, I went back into the account settings and changed the email address to [email protected]. Works now
is this for the login too? or just the reply email address?
thanks
Not for login
I used all of my correct info for the login. Incoming server is pop3.live.com and outgoing is smtp.live.com in case you wonder.
I'm making progress!
at least it now asks for my password. but it keeps saying it's wrong.
are you using HTTP mail or pocket hotmail at all?
Looks like I don't need to use those programs anymore.
Thanks!
Conversetion is complicated .... To continue

Nutdhanai: this is useful info, but FYI, it's fairly well known info.
But it's useful to have it again, I suppose!

Yea i thought i ve seen this here before, I saw someone asking about push mail service in other forums so I thought someone may need the info here too..
great I was gonna ask about this as I've tried emoze with no result
how do I set up the AKU2 for an exec on tmobile uk,will it run ok?
i am aware of this, but wanted to know if anyone had an idea as to how to change the reply-to address???
I have emails forwarded to the mail2web account so i can get the exchange sync on my Wizard but do not reply to them from it as i do not want that email address to be avaliable
mail2web
Ive been using the paid service of mail2web (i liked the free service enough that i wanted a full service) for the last 3 months now, in europe, in china the push email has worked great (no i dont work for them, but geeze when something just works its nice).
1) get the free account at www.mail2web.com
2) choose your [email protected]
3) redirect all your email to your mail2web.com address
4) when u want to reply to something simply setup an imap, or pop3
account that you never poll, so when u want to reply to an email,
switch account, new, send email. its a bit cludgy, we need a better
email client that allows us to adjust the from address.
a.
As far as I am aware, it is something they have to do at the server end. I spoke to them about it and changing the domain of the reply address is one of the features of their buisness packages.
However, they did say that they are thinking of adding this to the personal package soon (don't know if that includes the free one or not!)
Hope this helps!

That would be awesome. I currently use a forwarding-account from http://www.pobox.com and would like to be able to use my Pobox-address as the default address from Mail2Web-live.

You can simply reply to emails through the mail client, it will send them from your mail2web account.
Just followed the instruction and got the push mail work perfectly, but some question to ask here, can i know what's the different between this setup and if I setup a pop mail with auto connect option enabled?
Pop mail will check mail at the intervals you specify.
Push mail keeps a data link open to the server and gets the mail as soon as it arives.

For the pushmail to work, does our phone require to be connnected to the internet either throught wifi or GPRS or other services offered by the mobile service provider?
Yes, it needs internet access.
GPRS is what it's designed to work with as this stays active while he phone is in standby. It will work with WiFi, but while the phone is in standby it will try to connect by GPRS if you have a connection available.
It could in theory work on a Bluetooth PAN with internet access, but I haven't tried this.
ok i have mail2web set up but push email is not working. I have a t-mobile MDA with the new T-Mobile US ROM (the t-mobile provided rom) and if i send recieve i get my email but so far i have not received a push email..... any thoughts..... directpush is green in the connection manager.....
i have the mda for t-mobile usa too
go to active sync on the mda and then
Menu
Schedule
and change to "As Items Arrive"
when you do that it will say you can get items imediatelly or something like that and it asks for your device address [email protected]
and there you go
Thanks buddy works perfect!

Is it possible to push from two different servers?
I have been using gmail for a long time. My biggest complaint is that everytime I sync it deletes all of the information that was downloaded the last time I synced. Someone recomended mail2web.com to use as an exchange server which works great. I didn't know my wizard could do push mail. Now that it does I would like to download my work email and my gmail, but keep them seperate. Is that possible? If it isn't does anyone know of a pop or imap service that works better then gmail? Thanks a bunch.

In Gmail you can select the option of leaving a copy of your mail in Gmail account in Options.
I use mail2web.com with free live services and it work's well.
But i don't understand why deleted items folders and drafts folders are not sync. I've look at the activ sync stteings but i didn't found how to make those folfers sync. with my Tytn.
Is there some people that have those folders Sync. ?
Is it a limitation for free services at Mail2web ?
thanks for answer
After flashing the Most Beautiful Edition of WM6 to my Wizard I tried installing the T-mobile Triggers Push Mail app which has always worked for me in the past on WM5 builds from Molski and Faria, but on the WM6 build it doesn't seem to be catching the SMS's and parsing them.
Has anyone else been successful with the T-mobile Triggers app and WM6?
It seems to have worked for me then stopped working. What cab's are you using?
CAB?
Aloha!
I am looking for the CAB file for T-Mobile Email Triggers. Anyone?
Faria WM6 RT
Cheers!

VPN and WAP settings cabs on FTP
There are VPN and WAP cabs on the FTP. Do a search. I think Dr. Puttingham posted a link to a zip file you will find useful.

Thank you! Will give this a shot on Faria WM6 RT
Did that file work for anybody with WM6? I was unable to get the cab that I had for Tmobile email notification to work with the Faria WM6 build. Right now I'm using port88.org to get push mail service. But unforunatly, my company proxy appears to block the service and so when I try to activesync my contacts/calendar to my Thinkpad, it just sits and never finishes syncing. So I would rather go back to getting my mail via the tmobile push since it at least worked!

Hi Paladin27,
I do have this working on Farias Rom. I downloaded and installed the CAB above. Turned of "Pickup E-Mail Every X" minutes in the E-mail Settings for the accounts I configured on My T-Mobile.com. I next made sure that My eMail Triggers were enabled on the my device. Then I made sure that E-Mail Alerts were enabled on My T-Mobile.com.
The last part I think is the key.
Hope this helps.
the triggers are working for me too. i am running the mun_aRTM rom on tmobile usa with 2.69 radio. the emails are arriving on my phone anywhere from 10 - 15 minutes after the email was sent...

I installed it and it worked briefly... Now I keep getting the 'trigger' SMS's from 701. I'll fiddle with it some more but I haven't had much luck so far. This is on WM6 MB.

http://www.lvlolvlo.net/2007/03/24/t-mobile-triggers-on-windows-mobile-6-wm6/
Probably should point out what ROM's I've had this working on...

PDAViet 1

Has anyone been able to get the T-Mobile triggers to work in Crossbow 1.5? Any other of the ROMs besides those listted by lvlolvlo? Thanks!
Also working in Crossbow 1.5 as well as Xplore 2.0
I'm using Faria's WM6 ROM on my MDA, and have set up Gmail through WiFi on it, but when i exit the messaging app, it deletes my email! I didn't have this problem before, and I think I have the right POP3 settings in GMail.
Is this a setting on my phone or in Gmail that I need to fix?

Its working for me. I had to check my network settings. The auto config tool had put in a proxy server. When I removed (unticked) this Windows Live email works fine. I have it checking new mail 'as items arrive'.

Thanks for the suggestion. I went to settings--> connections-->Connections--> manage existing connection-->and removed and unchecked proxy settings.
Still doesn't work.
Any ideas?
Problem sorted!
I figured out the problem. The proxy's were all unchecked. I used my old Mobile Service Provider cab for the connection settings, and it works perfectly now. It seems that something on the South African Vodacom settings that comes with the rom doesn't allow syncing with hotmail, but after installing the old Mobile Network cab with the previous settings sorts it all out.
Thanks for all the suggestions!
