Does anyone know how to change the background image transparency levels in WM6? There used to be an icon/slidebar in WM5, I have not found a method for this in WM6 yet.
Don't know if the ROM cookers need to create a setting for this or what, as a few WM6 roms that I have tested don't have it.
Thanks
Go to Pictures&Videos
Choose your Picture
--> set as Background
now you can set Tranparency
ready
That Worked!
That certainly did the trick!! Thanks for the help!!

On my homescreen I have the battery icon and I want it to show the clock instead. How do I change this? A registry tweak? I tried SKTools option but it did not work. I know you can choose to show the clock in all programs from the MORE option in Clock setting but I want to show it on the Today page.
Thanks so much!

What Device? WHAT OS? Look in WIKI under Registry tweaks
Sorry. I have Asus P525 with Windows Mobile 6 Beta 2. I looked in the wiki. Asus phones are not listed and looked at some basic reg tweaks to enable the clock only but the reg key is not in my registry and the hide battery key is not in my registry either. Any help appreciated.
Thanks!
i got an p3300 with mobile 6 and to do the trick i did this reg tweak.
advised by tom codon,so all credit to him.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell]
"ShowTitleBarClock"=dword:00000001
think it could just as well work on your device ;-)

Thanks. I tried LVM time. It works - sort of. Sometimes I get graphical glitches. Also cant change the font size even though I am given the option to.
The registry tweak works great so uninstalling LVM time.
Thanks so much!
Hi,
i have testing with the dpi settings for the display and i think 96dpi is realy good to working. But there some bug's and no i ask me if any rom cooker can make a nice rom with 96dpi support. I have seen that win6.1 working on a typhoon with 96dpi by 176x220px ... the vox have 131dpi by 240x320px ... so can anyone help me ?
some images
Hm looks pretty good. How do you change to different DPi"
I've found you just need to set the registry values [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\ Display\GPE\LogicalPixelsY] and LogicalPixelsX to 96 in decimal
But for now it's quite buggy..some icons on titlebar are missing
Information source here
It changes icons messages home screen only letters in menus are at the same size
It needs some DLL editing from what i'm reading
Here are some shots
as you can see here the icons of the signal and battery are missing
Here is how the homescreen appears
Hm I noticed the icon problems. When you use the icon bar replacement it works on the homescreen otherwise it doesn't. You also need adjustments for the grid view in the start menu, it doesn't show enough icons, but that should be changeable via reg key too. You need the dll for the icon bar, then you can adjust that too!
EDIT: Yes, you also need bigger backgrounds!
Yes in the linked article they say how to solve the icons issue and why the problem exists but it's for Wm2003 so I haven't tried yet...
OT: thank you frau with your (and others obviously) work with vonix and for the wiki
OK. I think tshres.dll is for the iconbar.
exactly is tshres
"tshres.96.dll: Bluetooth/Wi-Fi/system icons. It even contains PE (Phone Edition) icons.[/url] Locked by the shell32.exe, gwes.exe and device.exe"
The problem is, I just looked in the dll and there are not all the icons, that are usually in the icon bar, like battery icons are missing!
For me it's very painful to look for those icons using the dlls located on the phone..maybe using the kitchen or the OEM SYS folders provided by the DOC...but right know I do not have broadband connection...
Tell me which dlls you need. I'll upload them for you!
Thank you for your cooperation..I'll take a look at the guide this evening..now i do not have spare time...so i'll let you know...
Thanks in advance
nice to see that somebody intressting to this
my idea is to copy the 96dpi stuff form a typhoon rom to the vox rom, and cook this. After this it's going to the fine tune.
For the menu's the regkey's are
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu\PopFnt
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu\BarFnt
and set the value "ht" to 14-16 ... what you like ... 14 is realy small but good enouth to read ... 15 is i thing the ideal for this
For the Scrollbar (value in px ... 3-4 are good)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\cxVscr
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\cyHscr
Sounds good. Can you upload those files?
I have never cooked a rom befor, i have ask "ALEUT" the maker for wm6.1 for the typhoon if he can send me the files from his rom.
if he would send me ... i put them to a server
ore someone told me how i cook a rom ^^
i founded all the icons thanks to frauhottelman...now i have to know how to modify them to be compatible with the 96 DPI MODE.
we will be waiting for you to release something to make vox 96dpi
other than icons you have to make call screens also compatible wioth 96dpi

i think you may wait for a long time...i m not a programmer or whatever else...i've just tryed to do some dll substitution...and till now...this has resulted in phone hardresetting
I've used some 96 dpi dll found here on XDA but with no luck...
if any of you finds a way to just edit the dll we have this could be great.
Hi guys, i'd realy like to know which path leads to the "alarm" menu (the right slider in the clock menu, which you can access through tipping on the clock on homescreen (manila 2.1, wm 6.5).
I need the filepath, to set it up on the right softkey on manila homescreen.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks...
Sascha
P.S.: I don't need instructions how to edit the softkeys, i know how to proceed in the registry.

\Windows\Clock.exe will get you to the same screen as when you click on the clock but not sure how to default to Alarm tab.
All right, thanks so far for this hint, but it actually gets me to the "windows" clock settings - due to the nice look of manila / sense / tf3d (whatever), i would prefere to get to the manila style clock settings (alarm settings).
Anybody else an idea?
Sascha

I don't think it can be done because manila uses a series of Mode9 files for one CPL, so there are multiple files for that function.
Another option would be an external program like G-Alarm.
Okay... that's why nowhere else on the net I found an answer...
Thank you though...
Feature Settings
If it's a *.cpl file it's accessible! See my post and within it several links to more information about accessing Feature Settings via *.LNK files...
In the xda wiki there's a link for the Windows Alarms.

It just needs some more investigation <g>

As Sascha stated, "i would prefere to get to the manila style clock settings (alarm settings)." not the windows CPL, which as I stated can be achieved by linking to Clock.exe
You can't link the Manila Alarm UI to a softkey.
Nice tutorial though.
sorry to bother you all, the question maybe looks stupid, but I haven't found an answer anywhere.
I'd like not to install cabs or stuff like that......... I'm quite sure that it might be done tricking some regkeys, is anybody aware about it?
Thanks
Was looking for that answer too, because we already have the big clock of manilla so there's no use of having the clock in the topbar. Don't know how to do it also.
there use to be an option to turn it off when i had my old omnia but cant find that these days
was thinkin about that 4 weeks now.. what u can do is 2 use the battclock programm and place something diffrent over it , thats what im doing @ the moment hope someone is bringing a cab 4 it soon ..
Any hint?
i believe hdtweak program would allow you to do that. not sure if it would work with this device.
Hello,
In WM 6.5.x I don't know, but in 6.5, in settings, all setings, Clock & Alarms, More, there is a choice to display or not the clock. Hope it helps !
No sir, with WM 6.5.x you don't hve any chance to change the toolbar. I've been messing round for hours in these forums without getting anything...... I'm quite sure it can be modifed only via regkeys........ who knows???
It utterly, absolutely and definitively cannot be disabled in 6.5.x ROMs at this time. I'm genuinely surprised you haven't found this while searching as it has been answered many times before.
Setting -> All Setting -> Clock & Alarms.
'More' tab Untick the 'Display the clock on the title bar in all programs'
That worked fine on my stock 1.66 WWE ROM.
just use battclock then , u can even put a blank colored space over it ..or an image2match ur taskbar ...

I suspect you don't have a 6.5.x ROM then. The 6.5.x series have the Start Menu button at the bottom, rather than the top.

Sorry sir, I don't want to stir things up, but I think what you're saying isn't true
Have you ever wondered why some cooked topbars (showing either colored icons or different types of them) don't show the clock sometimes?
This is likely to mean that topbar clock is a customizable feature, isn't it?
Nothing is absolutely impossible, no wonder some cooks did it.
Cheers
I (and many of you I'm sure) have been looking for something like this for such a long time...
This is a fantastic app coming from volDeus, it allows you to:
- Set high quality wallpapers in both portrait and landscape directly from your device. No other apps, no PC needed, not even softreset ;
- Set softkey and task bar transparency levels (0 to 255) directly from your device.
For those interested, check the guy's thread:

Enjoy!
After install this cab my phone can't run anymore ==> Hard reset
This does look really promising but for now HDwall works just fine for me. Thanks for the info, I will continue to watch this.

sorry to hear that, it works perfectly fine for me with:
manila 2.10
wm 23557
he warned on the 1st post there are some wm builds which are not compatible yet. you also need to be careful to copy the right files.
