HTC Sim Manager 6.10 - HTC Vox

Downloaded this today, just in case anyone wants it.
It's the new Sim Manager from HTC, just unzip it, and place the application into the Windows directory on the Vox.
Can't see any major upgrades on it, but there again, I very rarely use the sim manager anyhow!
Enjoy this.

New 8125 with Fed X and due in wednesday. O-Boy!!!!

Hey All, I'm very excited here , my new 8125 will be in my hands Wednesday. The first thing I would like to find is a weather program to install. I use xWeather on my Treo 650, it gives me nice radar views. I would love to have something like that for my 8125. I wonder, can I try loading the Treo 650 program on the 8125 or is that a No No. So ware do I go to find down loadable programs for my 8125. I go to mytreo.net for tons of free stuff and trial programs for the 650, is there a place like that to go for my new 8125? Watch ya say guys? Thanks...
As far as Weather Programs -- there's WeatherPanel by Marsware, Spb Weather, and Sbsh Pocket Weather that I'm aware of.
As far as other apps -- go to Handango, Pocketgear, Freewareppc, or pocketpcfreewares. Or, just do a google search for "PPC APPS".
Another suggestion is to mosey over to the Cingular Customer Forums and do a forum search for "8125 apps" to see what kinds of programs some of us are running on our 8125's.
Thanks newbie2 for all the info. I went to all that you mentioned and did the google search and found lots more; way cool ! I like very much the Marsware WeatherPanel also, I will put that in the new 8125 first thing and for 12 bucks I will buy it also. I sure hope my new 8125 comes with a data transfer cable or I will be bummed out big tme. LOL

It comes with the USB sync cable to connect to your computer to sync AND for downloads -- so, you're all set!!
Thanks for the info on what the unit comes with, that's a relief!! I set up folders and book marks for all this new stuff so I'm all ready. I been waiting for Fed-X, my package is out for delivery. I down loaded Weatherpanel and am ready to install that also. I'm used to getting stuff for my Treo 650 and having to install .prc files for programs. It was interesting to see that the weatherpanel has a .exe extension and it seems as though programs for the 8125 mda set up as if you are doing regular computer installs; hence the name Pocket PC. This is neet stuff... Now ware is that truck..........
New 8125 came in yesterday, I am loving it. I stayed up late to get it set up the way I want and all is fine, everything from syncing to E-Mail to Wifi is all done. My 1Gb sd card will arrive Friday then I will install Weatherpanel, with that install I guess I just use the explore from the hot sync manager and put the program in a folder and just double click the .exe file. I'm really not sure how to install programs yet to the phone, any info would be great. I use 4 E-Mail addresses and having to switch between each one to check them all is a pain. With my Treo 650 I used Snapper Mail and it checked all accounts one after another automaticaly. Is there an E-Mail program for my 8125 that will work the way Snapper Mail does? I looked briefly for Snapper Mail for Pocket PC's but still no luck. Again any info is appreciated. Thanks All....
For an .exe install, you want to install from the desktop through ActiveSync. Just double-click the program's install icon -- the installation will start on your desktop and go through the ActiveSync connection to install to your phone.
To install a .cab file, drag and drop ( or copy and paste) to your phone through Active Sync ( I ususally put .cab files onto the SD card). Then just navigate to it on the phone through File Explorer, tap on the file and it will begin the install process.
If your SD card is in your phone, you'll be asked at the beginning of the install process whether you want the program installed to the device or storage card. Just make your choice, click "install" and the installer will do the rest.
Sorry -- don't know about any programs for multiple email accounts. It's all I can do to keep up with just ONE!!
yes you can run Palm OS 5.2 (or older) on your PPC!
Just visit http://styletap.crmhelp.net/?_a=knowledgebase&_j=questiondetails&_i=5
but know that is not freeware. But I still prefer WM5 apps

Extreme N00b here - How do I install 6.1 on my US Treo 750?

I am not the type of person that does hacks or uses cooked ROMs, but since I have been told that Win 6.1 is not forthcoming for my Treo 750, can someone please tell me in simple terms how to install it? I am in the US, have AT&T for my provider, and have a Treo 750.
Here is what I have tried:
I already have the 60+ MB cheeimg.nbh file sitting on the root folder of my 2GB Storage Card. I tried many times - hold down the push-to-talk button and then push the reset button. Nothing happens, except for three bright colored bars. Or am I not waiting long enough? I dunno.
I read that the Storage Card is supposed to be reformatted to 32-bit (or something like that) - I don't have a tool for this, and all my apps are installed there. I don't want to lose everything. Or will I anyway? Is there some sort of SD card reformatter?
I have downloaded things like the CheetahUnlocker.exe, the RUUWrapper.exe, the Treo750Radio1[1].54.07.00.rar file, and the Treo750_OS5_2_19199WWE_STD.rar file. I don't know what to do with them.
I don't want to unlock this phone; I am still going to run it on AT&T, I just want the 6.1 OS, that's all. It is getting silly. I was going to just buy another phone, but really, the 750 is fine - it runs great. I just want to try the 6.1 OS. If it is even better than 6.0, then great.
My wife wants me to just junk it and get an iPhone, like she has. I don't want to do that, the 750 is great for me.
Oh, well, guess no help here
Just so you know, I am not trying to trick anybody, and get them in trouble, or anything. Surely, someone has been able to get WinMo 6.1 installed on their AT&T-branded Treo 750.
You just need to search a little harder, but the wiki is where you should start.

Well, here goes...
I copied every single file on my Storage Card to my PC, as a backup, just in case I needed anything. I downloaded the 6.1 cheetah file mentioned here.
I didn't know how to format my Storage Card to Fat32, so I googled 'format storage card windows mobile' and found a program called Flash Format, on CNETX. It has a trial version. I installed it to my device (not the Storage Card, obviously), and it formatted the Storage Card drive to FAT32 in a few seconds. Then I followed the steps shown here.
I rebooted, and guess what happened? It set my OS to Australia's at WM6.0, not 6.1.
[email protected]$%@#$%!!!!
So I started up the old 6.0 updater that I got from Palm, and it said nope, you already have a newer version.
%&*%&*&^!!!
So, I started it back up, and stopped at the first screen. Then I searched my PC for the payloads.xml file, and found it, and the 6.0 CHEEIMG_FW.nbh file, renamed it to CHEEIMG.nbh, stuck it into my Storage Card folder, and started the bootloader.
I rebooted, and guess what happened? I am still at the Australian version.
*#%^&%&!!!
Ok, finally figured it out - whew!
Look, if this happens to you, do this:
1. Launch the Official Palm updater (Treo750_2_25_ATT_EN_DesktopUpdater.exe).
2. When the window pops up, do not click Start. Instead, do a search on your PC for a "payloads.xml" file.
3. Edit that file; change the high version to 2.3
4. Now, click the start button on the updater.
I kinda liked the Australian version, because it had MSN Messenger and some other things that AT&T USA did not have. But it also was missing the AT&T Proxy app. And it seemed to run slower?, I dunno, although it did work fine for me.
Oh, well, I guess I don't want WinMo 6.1 that bad!
I was scared there for a while - this is silly. Other people have WinMo 6.1, but I will never have it for my Treo 750? I guess they are not in the business of supporting old phones, just selling new phones.
I guess I will just stay with the old WinMo 6.0 until this phone eats it. Then I will buy a new phone.
Why are you being so dramatic? Of course you can have 6.1 on your phone ... it's really not all that difficult.
First, you have to run Hard SPL. Instructions and the download are a 'sticky' on the top of this forum. You must do this step. If you don't the OS upgrade won't work.
Then use the SD card method to upgrade your OS to 6.1. Forget editing payload files and the like. It's simple and works.
I know you said you don't want to unlock your phone, but honestly, it makes no difference to your ability to use the Treo on the AT&T network by doing so. In fact, you won't even know your phone is unlocked.
Thank you very much. It works now.
Okay, I didn't know that I needed to unlock the phone (and that unlocking would not affect my AT&T service). Thanks. I thought people only unlocked phones when they were going to sell them for use with another carrier. This is my first unlock.
Steps included:
1. Connect the Treo 750 via ActiveSync to your PC.
2. Run the CheetahUnlocker.exe program.
3. Ignore the stuff that says Hermes, and just click the buttons.
4. (If you didn't do this already), get FlashFormat from CNETX, and install it on your Treo 750, then run it to format your Storage Card to FAT32.
5. Copy the WinMo 6.1 cheeimg.nbh file to your Treo's Storage Card, in the root folder.
6. Hold down the PTT button and then click the reset buton under the Storage Card door.
7. You now have Win Mobile 6.1. Whoo hoo.
Hmmm. Now my Voice Command app is gone
That is wierd. I had Voice Command before, (on my Treo 750) and now it is gone. Anybody ever have this happen?
Voice Command and Remote Desktop were not part of the WM6.1 build as far as I can tell. At least not on the one I'm using (Full version, not Lite).
You can get the CAB files for each of those and install them separately. I did install the Remote Desktop, but don't use VC, so never bothered. I did see that some people were saying that older versions of VC 1.6 were having issues, but it seemed to be hit-and-miss.
Sorry I don't have the links handy, but I'm sure they can be found with Google.

[REQ] Windows Live Search .cab file

On my very first tilt I was able to install a nice version of WLS that included GPS directions and local information look-up. I'm currently running ROMeOS on my Fuze and it came with a new version of Windows Live that looks and acts nothing like that one I had. I was instructed to go to http://wls.live.com, which from Opera is a complete failure. When loaded in IE it does detect my phone, however, when I go to download it I am told the file cannot be found.
So I beg of you please, can someone post the .cab file if they have it. I know I cannot be the only one who preferred this program over Google Maps.
I have TomTom7 installed but lacking a MicroSD card to load the maps. Which reminds me, what is the largest MicroSD the Fuze will support?
I went to the same address you did. You can either use IE to do it, or with Opera just click on the link that acknowledges it doesn't know what phone you have and then manually select the WM6 download.
See if this is the one you are looking for
@AvengerBB
When I click that acknowledge link, that's when I get the error. Also had the same problem on my Tilt.
@supps2
Thank you, trying it now!
EDIT - Exactly what I wanted, thank you! Now to fix my damn data problems.

HD2 Copilot SD Card Files

Hi,
Apologies if this is in another thread but I cannot find anything that matches my request.
I just upgraded my ROM from T-Mobile 1.43 to the Generic 1.66, and as a bonus now have the ability to try out Copilot (not included on t-mobile version)
The downside is that I also do not have the files from the SD card (again t-mobile don't include them).
Could someone either put the said files/folders somewhere I could grab them or help me track them down. I don't believe I am asking for anything illegal here. I just want to test the software and may indeed purchase if I like it but as things stand I cannot.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!
Start Copilot, register for the trial and you will receive the option to download the voice files and maps you want to. It is recommended that you use the use either WiFi or ActiveSync, since the maps aren't that small. If you didn't get the option when you first started Copilot, you could delete the copilot directory on your storage card or just go to download from the options panel.

[Q] Help with installing apps on HTC Fuze

Hi, so I just got an HTC Fuze. I'm usually pretty tech savvy but apparently not with this. I can't get my phone synced with my computer so I got an SD card reader to transfer files. However I've got no idea how to install half of the apps I've downloaded. The single .cab files I understand. Just copy them over and run them on the phone. Even the .exe I got a .cab converter for but most of them come zipped with at least like 10 or way more files with one of the XML document setup things. Could someone please tell me what I do with these? The file types are always numbers and I just don't get it.
Also, if someone might be able to let me know why my computer won't recognize my phone that would be greatly helpful. It's a 32 bit Vista. I've got Windows Mobile Device Center on but the computer calls my phone an unknown device. I feel like I've tried a hundred different things but it just won't work. My phone is running TAEL ROM does this have anything to do with it?
Thank you!
