Search function in calendar - HTC Vox

I'm missing a search function in the calendar. Does someone know a good alternative to WM6 calendar?

I'm looking for a search function also but i can't find a program that does this. I need to search calender because of my job.
I'm a driving instructer and when a student nears the end of the course in need to know how many hour we spent. Most of them buy a complete pakkage but in many occasions the need more lessons. then i want to search for a name in calender and count how many extra lessons they have had and tell them. But now i cant and i have to tell them an other day because i can only do this at home in office outlook.
I'm hoping that someone knows a way or program which can search in calender.

Group Texting

I want to be able to send a text to a group of 7 or 8 people. Can I set something up on Windows Mobile 6 so I don't have to keep adding these people separately?
Try this

Hopefully one of these suggested so far will be just what you were looking for.....failing that, there's always Google

Has anyone used them? Can anyone recommend one of the others?

Dude, start typing names into the "to" field with the keyboard. Auto-complete pops up the names of your contacts so all you have to do is select them.
People make too big of a deal about this issue, IMO...
But if it's 20 or 30 people and your have to start typing them each time, that's still maybe 3 or 4 minute job. Also, you have to fish out your list each time to check who needs them.
Compared to being able to type 'Football' or something instead. Myself, I would say it's quite a decent time/hassle saver...
The first link I posted above should work well for you; it's "category-centric", so if you create a "Football" contact category you can assign the required contacts to that category. When using the GroupSMS program, it will list the categories you have defined and you can then pick one (or more); then you just enter the message you want to send....job done!
Read the threads, try 'em out.....

This may sound crude, but it is not meant to be. Is there anyone who can provide me a program that can create a recurring appointment in outlook or in some calendar setting for a 28 day occurance? Or is there one out there?
I really think that this could help a lot of guys out there. Just to keep us prepared.
Thanks,

I am not sure about the rest of you but I am always well aware of when that time as arrived. It might be nice to be able to know a couple days ahead of time for planning purposes.
In Outlook, new appointment > recurrence > daily > every xx days
Regards

your regular calendar can do this, tap the day "she start", menu, new appointment, fill in subject, click on "occur", click every friday or what ever it shows, then click on occur again, select "edit pattern", next, change the "every ____ weeks" change it to 4,next, finish, check your appoinment it should show every 28 days, then go back into the appointment and you can set the reminder, to remind you so many hour or days . i married and have 4 daughters,
Good Call
As much as I use Outlook, I totally missed the ability to change the reocurrance.

There also has been a nice mygirls.jar in the net with great graphical interface but i couldn't find it yet so fast. Is there anyone how knows where to find?
maybe someone could make one that would track multiple ladies and have audible warnings that would flash if you attempted to call/ or if they called you durring 'ladies time'.. also maybe a alarm that would sound when one of the ladies went into ladyheat. Maybe with GPS too and make it all social networking too... sort of along the lines of the windows mobile fart app that the dude took it to the next level.
I'm glad I don't have ten wives
Oh man, oh man, oh man. Some of you love to walk thru that minefield.......
This is moved to the Q&A section
I like being surprised. It lets me know just how ready I'll be if the zombie apocalypse hits.

He is posting under the Question & Answer forum. This means that he can ask questions & waiting for answers .
Of course it is best to use the search button of the forum or google but we can't discourage everyone for asking help.
This is the great thing about xda-developers. That in here there are the best experts & the complete newbies but everyone helps each other.
Don't mean to be rude

Your Wizard is not recommended to take notes with. At least not for me .
I use Word to take some notes but only for basic things.
For class schedule I am using the build in calendar. I have also installed S2U2 & I have enable to it the option to show the appointments. So when my phone wakes up I see my appointments / classes. An alternative is to make an Excel spreadsheet with your classes & store it to your phone.
Can you be more specific about editing Start menu?
i figured out the start menu on my own.
Thank you for your suggestions sam. I have looked before and didnt find what i wanted. But now i did Calendar plus i am going to see that S2U2 you said. I'll post later again. Thank you.

[REQ] Enhanced calendar tab in Sense

Hi all!
This is my first post in these forums, even though I've been idling for some time. So, first of all, thank you all for all the contributions these forums have made to the WM scene! Especially to noobs like me.
So - since I'm a former PocketBreeze user I would very much like to integrate tasks into the calendar tab on the today screen. I made a simple sketch below.
The idea is to simply have the tab showing the tasks. "Today" would show all tasks that are active on the present date, together with outdated - unchecked - tasks as well as tasks without due dates. Further down in the agenda, tasks are also shown once on the date they start and once on the date they end. Having the ability to "check" a task once it's finished would certainly be icing on the cake.
I have no idea if this is even possible but it would most definitely make my day (as well as many others', I'm sure).
Thanks for your time!
great idea.. send it to HTC
I think you will find the majority of people on this forum would agree with your request. Adding Tasks to the HTC calendar would be perfect. While I love PocketBreeze, SPB Diary and so forth - I prefer a clean and simple interface. If I don't need an additional piece of software I don't want one.

Even though I don't think they pick ideas like these up from users - can someone give me a hint on where I should sent it? The support line doesn't seem quite right...
Sorry to bump this old thread, but I just found this and this idea is awesome!
Maybe now someone can do this someway or another.
Very good mockup, by the way. it would look wonderful.

[Q] Noob needs help to create event calendar app

Hi all,
I'm a noob app developer trying to do it for the first time. I'm trying to create an event calendar app for company's internal purposes. So that everyone in the company (which uses a lot of android phones) can be updated on company events that are coming up.
My approach is to create a database with MySQL for events input, and to use PHP to connect the database which is in a server and to push it to the android devices that are used in the office as that's how I found it in a tutorial from HelloAndroid.
My questions are:
1. is this the best approach to create such app?
2. Can I use Android's default calendar to input these events? if not is there some kind of calendar template that I can use to display the information to the users.
Probably will have more questions as I progress, but please help if anyone is more experienced in these matters than I am.
Thank you very much, and really appreciate the inputs that I'm gonna get
A simple solution would be to use Google Calendar.
By using GC you can add/edit events either from a PC (work or home) or your Mobile anywhere in the World.
All that is required is for someone to first set up the calendar on Google and push it out to all those who you want to see it.
This way you are not isolating anyone who does not have an Android Phone.
that's a really good point. Especially in a closed environment like an office. I didn't think of that before. THank you very much.
However, if let's say I want to try to build an app for that for public use, not just confined to limited numbers of people in a company.
Would that be the best approach or if there's any better way to approach it. I may decide to build the app after all just to learn and gain experience in app development.
thanks again for the feedback, really appreciate it.
I can't really give you advice on developing an App sorry.
All I can say is the method I mention is the one which I use to keep all my Operational Team (Surgeons/Doctors/Nurses/Admin/etc) updated and advised.
There's nothing short in you developing your own Calendar App but you would have to ensure it would be available to all and that includes anyone anywhere regardless of the fact they are at work, home, holiday, with Android or not, have a Phone, PC, Mac, etc... etc...
For that there's already a stable tool by the name of Google Calendar.
If you do develop one I'd still be interested in seeing what ideas you could bring into practice that would have a benefit over GC.
I understand your point of view, and actually you got me thinking, maybe if I really want to do the apps, I can create an app that calls the Gcalendar events, and display it from the app. I can find out the API to do that, and that would be much simpler.
Thank you again for your input, really appreciate i

No problem.... I wish you well on your venture.
Do please let us all know how you get on.. You never know, if it becomes that good I may even use it myself over the stock calendar App or any of the other's that already link to GC.
