Black Keyboard skin - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Can someone please make a black keyboard skin like the nice one in the Titanium ROM into a cab? I have the mui file but my 8125 has the keyboard mui file as read only so I cannot over write. Mun's keyboard cab works however so I am in need of a cab for the nice black keyboard skin. Thanks

Same here....

Take a look at this one. It's kind of dark grayish/black and silver. It looks good with the HTC Touch stuff.

I guess we're looking for the Black Diamond keyboard skin.....don't we? Anyone?

trying this one now, thanks mdhensley5

this one looks nice but yeah would love to have the Black Dymond one or however it was spelled. If I cannot get it this one will do.

I like to have that black dymond keyboard skin too, as a cab file.
thanks
greats from germany

Anyone who has it?

Here's the .mui file. Replace the mUn cab file with this one and it should work.

I am not sure why but that never works for me, mine just reverts back to the old white stock one

Yeah i also already tried that. It indeed simply reverts back to the old standard black and white keyboard. So we really need it in a cab, just like the xplore keyboard cab file.

So no one will make that keyboard into a cab for us?

I pretty sure that is a resco keyboard with the black skin...actually that's what I'm using at the moment...

Where exactly are you supposed to put the cab after its downloaded???

You put it in the windows folder...I suggest if you are new to read up on the wiki for the wizard...there's lots to learn, and many who aren't willing to help...
*Actually copy the cab onto your mda (or whatever phone you have), then run the cab...the instructions above are for the mui file...sorry for the misunderstanding...

We know that we have to put that file into the windows folder but the keyboard reverts to its default white and black skin and will not become the black diamond skin as we hoped for......Capiche?

It's funny when you say "we" when tarroyo doesn't know where to put it. Anyways it wasn't even about the mui file...it was about the cab file.
My post was in regard to his post. So this has nothing to do with you...Capiche.

Ok if this doesn't work, then try this:
http://rapidshare.com/files/28801230/msim.96.dll.0409.mui
I was kind enough to search for the file. This is the keyboard anichillus posted from Core 2.0. It is the black and silver keyboard, and I can confirm that it does in fact work. Place the mui file in the windows folder, then restart. It should work after that.

I believe this is the keyboard they are looking for and would like it in a cab file instead of mui. I think that keyboard is also in Mattk_r's 318 TouchFlo ROM.

Crossbow dilaer!

Has anyone made a Crossbow theme dialer for wm5?
There are already today themes and even wisbar stuff around but i couldnt find any dilaerpad skin..
Thanks in advance!
OliveiraJMR.
hi
Where'd you find the Crossbow theme? I did a search and only found one that is not glossy/shiny. It looks like a plain green theme.
Anyone have a glossy Crossbow theme/skin for the Hermes??
Also, looking for WMP Crossbow skin and the rest of the crossbow look.
Cheers.

Hello.
This is the today screen theme i use... the glossy feature is a Crossbow OS specific i guess.. but this one has a nice green/blue mixture color. Its the closest to the real Crossbow color i could find.
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Blue%20Angel/xplode/cabs/Crossbow.tsk
This is also a wisbar advance theme to give you the gloss look you want. I found it a little buggy but you can try it.
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Blue%20Angel/xplode/cabs/wisbar.cab
The media player theme i have no clue where to find it... but what would really to have is a Dialer skin.... Anyone!!!
All the best!

Does your prophet have a VGA screen? if so the skin may be QVGA only
dear mccune
Sorry for that, my dialpad create from QVGA device because I don't have VGA device. but If you still need to use it. Just use CabManager to extra file and then resize it to be VGA proportion.

Very nice, works on my Prophet.
The only thing "wrong" is Smart Dailing. It's highlighting in Dark Blue instead of Yellow, so it's blocking the letters. Anyway to solve that?

Help with keyboard skins

Hi guys,
Was running one of faria's builds some time ago, and installed the mUn keyboard skin via a cab file - this worked fine, i also ended up opening the msim.96.dll.409.mui file in reshacker, and replacing the bmp with my own custom bmp, thus now having a custom msim.96.dll.409.mui file.
Now running NBD, and also tried a few others, the my custom msim doesnt work, which i though fair enough, the certificates its signed with prolly are not in the ROM, however if i install the mUn keyboard cab, the mUn keyboard works fine?? Even extracting and working mUn msim.96.dll.409.mui file, and reshacking that again, results in a msim.96.dll.409.mui that still doesnt seem to work in any build other than the old faria one I have.
Can anyone shine any light on this please?
Cheers
keyboard skins
I found a bunch of keyboard skins for wm2003 in an old forum archive from 2004 from someone called 'Bibi' and 'Juni' (Thanks!) that I've repackaged for WM6. I've included a script to automate the installation, and packaged it all into a cab file.
This works for me better than cooking a skin into a rom.
There are 20 keyboard skins in this package.
I am working on putting together a similar package with wait cursors.
Any chance of some screen shots of the keyboards?
Great Work

The cab installed fine for me, but the keyboard is not skinned after a soft reset.
I'm using Tytn II with original 1.81.707.0 WWE ROM.
In fact, I was also unable to skin the keyb when I was using prophet WM5 & Wm6 except the keyboard is already skinned in a cooked ROM.
Anyone with TyTn II had any success?

Smaller, but still finger friendly, menus for Treo Pro!

Some time ago, I have complained about the size of the menus in WM65.
After a little search, I was able to finally make it a little smaller, but still finger friendly.
The attached cab does that. Simply install it and you're all set.

fantastic, it really shows how much sense it makes! great job!
If anyone could redo the sms-chat typing space bigger that would be even better
This change will increase the SMS-Chat area. Look for a file in the windows directory called thread_sms.htm
Use a program such as Total Commander or Resco Explorer to edit the file.
Look for the line <inbox:content id="COMPOSESUBECT" width="98%" height=35 spell...
Edit the 35 value to say 70 and save. May need to soft reset.

Changing Themes
I installed this and worked great. I changed themes to a new one (I believe orange) and the menus were big again. I went back to the blue and it was also big.
1. Will this not work for other colors?
2. Will we have to keep reinstalling this for it work under blue?
Thanks for your hard work.

The thing is that this cab isn't a theme.
And unfortunately to use other colors it would require to edit the files that make up this cab.
I've tried to do it as a theme, but I didn't had any luck.
