Before traying an upgrade of my SPV M600 (G4), I want to backup my ROM and my Ext-ROM because I didn't found the french ones anywhere.
How is it possible to do ?

Look in this topic : http://www.forummobiles.com/index.php?showtopic=128371 here you have the technic to backup your ROM (nd a link with a French ROM) but I don't know if it is possible to restore a ROM saved with Awizard on a locked G4 device, if pro. can tell to us if is it possible...
In this method, a CID unlok is needed tu back the rom up but I have read that it's impossible on a G4, isn't it ?

I've a new O2 with german rom, I'm searching abot OS ENG ROM or I prefer the ITALIAN rom.

I've finally got mine backed up before i flashing it with i-jaming newest rom. But it is backed as dump. .. and as far as i know, to reflash it back later (i.e. if you/have want to), it has to be a .nba format. but i do not know how to convert it to that format.
If anybody knows how please let me know and i'll post the finished product here.

ummm ... i would kindly appreciate if someone could backup its current ROM and upload it to xda ftp.
What ROM, OS, RADIO version is this? Currently i have the Qtek German ROM (see signature). Is the EXT ROM also available?

I am also very interested in flashing mine to an english rom (qtek, etc), but I do also want the option of going back to the GErman Rom if need be...but, i have not seen the original German (Neo) rom posted. Does anyone know where this can be found? The O2 site has nothing....

folks, the german (or whatever languaged roms) mostly pop up as soon as the carrier (o2, tmobile, orange, ...) or oem (qtek, imate) have a update rom available, so it is usually no problem to install your prefered rom now and then go back to the original as soon as you want to sell the device. also if you think that switching the rom may harm your warranty:
1) it's always possible to f*ck up the rom version you have on your device in case of a hardware issue (simply start any update and the unplug the usb), so your beloved device becomes a paperweight and noone can say what rom you've used; 2) would changing the os on your desktop pc harm any warranty? no. so there you go whenever someone asks.
you don't need to change the cid of your device, there's a modified upgrade_utility, so you can always go back to the original state of rom as soon as your carrier releases one.
go update now ...

I have a Dutch M600 (all the text is in Dutch) and it is quite, well, cumbersome. Is it possible to reflash it with some default (non-branded) let's say QTek S200 English ROM? I'm quite new to this and I do not know if the fact it was sold as custom-branded will make any problems.
If it is possible, give me some pointers (thread links, etc.) I searched but I didn't find this specific case to be touched. Thanks in advance.

From what I understand the M600 is just a HTC Prophet, so yes you can flash a standard Qtek s200 WWE like this (the last official Qtek release) ftp://xda:[email protected]_S200_2.20.7.34_2.47.21_2.20.7.114_WWE.zip
As you're going from dutch to english you need to use the novendor romupdate utility ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Prophet/Tools/ROMUpdateUtility-NoVendorID.zip or another option is to CID unlock your M600 (for now only possible on G3 devices) It's all pretty simple, use search and read the forum and it will get you there.
In case of doubts, just ask, succes marl

Your answer is exactly what I was hoping for. Until now I'm using M500 and because it has WWE F/W i wasn't interested in all these technical terms. Could you tell me what does it mean CID, AKU, and the other abbreviations that one can see here on the forum? How can I discover whether my Prophet is G3 or G4?

CID= Country ID (basicly it's prrotection so you can't use other firmware then the one your provider supplied) G3 device can be CID unlocked easly, G4 devices not. Check the last digits your bootscreen, if you see x.xx.000 it's G3, if you see x.xx.001 it's G4)
AKU= Adaption Kit Upgrade= Upgrades to the OS, provides fixes and new features (Like pushmail for example). Check out this URL http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/articles/wm-aku-en.shtml

CID unlocked devices you can backup to SD using terminal software over USB, use search on the forum. CID locked devices are a different story, but the XDA ftp contains most orginal vendor firmware. Most of the time restoring is not really an issue. Keep in mind that you can not downgrade IPL/SPL once you upgrade. You can downgrade the Extrom, OS and Radio without touching the IPL/SPL so this is normaly no issue.

I am a little new to this stuff (upgrading) so I want to ask a simple question: Is it possible to restore the original ROM version - so to say "downgrade", after upgrade for example to AKU 2.3? I have a G4 O2 Xda Neo still with the Original ROM with AKU 2.0 .

Yes, it will be possible if you dump your rom first. look wiki here.
Thanls for the reptly. The problem ist that it says - it will NOT work if it's NOT CID-unlocked! And as far as I know there is still no solution to unlocking a G4 Prophet . So the question ist can I restore the original Rome with the original branded RUU afer upgrading to some other ROM.

i have succsessfully unlocked my mda but i have forgett to extrakt and save the orginal hardspl whitch was spl-1.56.0000 with nbhextract.exe
the mda works... but mabye a newly spl version is better for my mda i guess...
so mabye one of you can help me to find the original spl or a better one that works on my mda....
i have read and searched the The Ultimate Radio Thread but i can't find out whitch one is the right one for me... as an excuse my english is not the best...

Not if you flashed Hardspl. The rom will go back to the original rom, but the hardspl will not go back to the stock spl. For that you must find your stock spl and use jumpspl to re-lock your phone to the stock spl and rom.
