MMS: "Error Syncronizing" -- Crossbox - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Having trouble sending MMS messages. I just got burned at the beach and I tried to send a pic to my friend. Discovered I cant "Syncronize."
I am running Crossbow 1.7 stablely.
Device Info:
ROM Version: 2.18.0.0 WWE
ROM Date: 2/14/06
Radio Version: 2.19.11 UK
Protocol version: 4.1.13.09
ExtROM version: faria V5.0
I have also checked the settings to make sure it was set up properly. I have tried the .cab files which didn't change anything - because it was already set.
--- I tried searching the Forum but i don't think its working properly. Came up with "No Result" each time I tried searching (tired a few different things, a few different times) ---
Thanks,
-boldfacelies

Can no longer recieve MMS

I can't say for certain how long I've been having this issue because I don't use it that often but here is what I do know.
Sending and receiving MMS used to work fine (last time was several months ago with the stock Cingular 2.25 ROM).
About a month ago I backed up my phone with SPBBackup, unlocked my phone, and ultimately installed the Core 2.0 WM6 ROM. I had a few very small issues with this ROM, but no time to work through fixing them. Soo...
I reinstalled the factory Cingular 2.25 ROM and restored my backup. Things appeared to be functioning properly. During this time I successfully sent out 2 MMS messages (with 2 more messages failing... but that could have been a problem with their phone and not mine). Two days ago someone tries sending me multiple MMS messages and I get nada. No notifications, nothing. I've had two different people try, and nothing came through. When I sent them a message, it goes but they can't open it.
Woohoo, I have some spare time! I load the TMobile 2.26 IPL/SPL, TMobile UK 2.19.11 Radio, and Crossbow Reloaded 1.7. Wonderful, I love this ROM. Kudos to mfrazzz. Wait, what's that? I still can't send or receive MMS? Ok, I load the .cab files to restore the WAP and MMS settings and verify these with what Cingular has listed on their site. Still no worky.
I break down and call Cingular last night. After nearly 20 minutes on hold, the lady verifies that I should indeed be able to send and receive MMS with my plan and I am told I need to go to a store and have them swap out my SIM card to fix it. Grrr!
I now reload the factory Cingular 2.25 ROM and don't restore a backup. MMS still doesn't work. I verify MMS settings... still nothing. I reload the above mentioned .cab files... still nothing.
I'm at my wits end. Does anyone have any suggestions? Voice calls and SMS work fine, it's just MMS. Is there any chance that swapping the SIM will actually do anything?
Phone is a 8125 v3 on Cingular. Currently it is back to all stock 2.25.

something is disabled on your account most likely. Have you changed any features (add/remove) online or over the phone? sometimes these have dependencies or are "upgrades" to existing features and can disable a function that you need. When this situation happened to me it turned out to be that GPRS pay per use was taken off my profile when I added a $4.99/mo MediaNEt feature. Once they re-added that service to my account I was then able to send and receive MMS again.

MMS Help

Hello,
I am running TNT 3.0, and am having problems with MMS. I am able to send a message to myself, and the message seems to send correctly, but I cannot receive. I am in Canada on the Rogers network and have installed my settings manually; the same settings do work on WM5. Right now, when I click send/receive, I just get a message saying "error synchronizing". However, like I said, can send messages.
Arcsoft version is 3.5.1.17. Is there a way I can download an newer or older version to get it to work via a cab? When I click send/receive, Arcsoft doesn't even seem to try to connect. It just right away says "error synchronizing." I would be more inclined to think it was a network or a settings issue, if it looked like it was attempting to connect, but it doesn't seem to be doing so. Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a fix. I am pretty sure it is not my settings, as I have used the same ones on WM5, and it has worked, and I have doubled checked them about 5 times. Any help is appriciated. Thanks.

MMS Error Synchronizing

I'm running TNT 5.0 touch flo rom (loving it) and when i first flashed it onto my device, mms worked for the first time since wm5, even with all server settings correct. i have since flashed it on again and have the same server settings but upon hitting send/receiver or an mms showing up ready for download, i get an immediate "error synchronizing" at the bottom. can someone shed some light on this? thanks.
I have read many places that this notice occurs, even though your MMS is setup and working properly. You may want to try sending an MMS to a friend, and then asking a friend to send one to you, to test if you can actually send/receive.

I am having this issue/problem too. Has anyone posted a solution yet?
This problem is bit similar to mine i had after i bought wizard from T-Mobile. And the problem was in MMS settings. The MMS settings should be propper set in connections and Arcsoft MMS Composer too. I had this problem when i used settings preconfigured from my operator after a while someone released cab file to configure MMS and Internet connection direct for my operator needs and it started to work. So check your settings carefuly in Settings/Connections and in Arcsoft MMS Composer too

With Anyone using 6.1 and At&t...MMS issues?

Maybe its related to this.

well, i did have prob initially after loading 6.1 but i loaded the MMS cab, from dutty i think and it works fine, i m using Alex's 6.1 try going to the faq on his wiki for 6.1 u will find some help there or download a cab for mms/sms. it should fix it.
I used the WM6.1 from the austinsync link and it works fine without any mods at all. It actually runs great just has the reboot bug. I attached the link link.

Have duttys 6.1 on att. No problems what so ever
Dutty's would load on my phone go thru the customization then reboot and freeze at the HTC screen. So I looked in Austin's post and found one I am happy with. Since it was a "public" beta I didnt want to even bother dutty.

The problem associated with that is you have to flash to a older or new radio. Dutty's Publicly released beta requires the older radio's.
Try running the enablehiddenproxy.cab & make certain the user agent is coorectly set for the HTC-8900, Not TYTNII.
I am having a similar problem with MMS. I can send but cant not recieve. Im using WM6.1 based v3.0 by Sleuth. Anyone find a fix for this yet?
FWIW I just reflashed to the orginal At&T rom and now MMS works just fine. Maybe its a WM6.1 issue

I've had problems with the MMS since I started flashing the phone. Here are my observations, and then where I'm at now.
- stock ATT Rom, I can send and receive fine. I send to myself they show up full size (506kb sent, 506kb received), I send to someone else, if they can accept the 506kb, they get it. I can send to email addresses and it shows up full size.
- Then I started flashing. I've tried 4 dutty's ROMS, 3 Alex ROMs, two Sleuth ROMs, a Schaps ROM, a Q-ROM and now I'm on a UDk ROM. I see the MMS issue going one of two ways.
1- Non-reception of MMS messages at all. The way to cure this is to play with radios. Downgrade it, upgrade it whatever. Often messing with the radio will get the MMS to receive.
2- Reception of MMS but at a greatly reduced size and or clarity. Take my 506Kb from before. Right now, on my UDk Rom, it goes out at 506 K, receives at 5 K. Basically useless. I'm on the 1.64.08.21 Radio.
In case two, I have tried dutty's, schaps, and alex's cabs (IIRC)... I have three cabs on my phone to setup the er... ATT MMS settings. None of them get me to receive at full size.
Also, I've tweaked the registry settings a thousand ways from yesterday- 614400 for all three receive settings, graduated from 204800-614400 and still no dice there either.
Now sometimes, if someone sends me an MMS message below the 300K threshold, I receive it full size. But anything over, resizes from 5Kb to a max of about 120Kb. Just useless to me.
So far, every ROM I've flashed I've had issues with MMS.
I've even tried the enable hidden proxy cab. I'm not sure what GSLEON3 means by the user agent thing though.
Any help would be appreciated, and hopefully my observations help someone else.
ON EDIT:
I figured out what GSLEON3 meant, I think. I went to start/settings/system/about/Device ID
Then I changed "HTC_TYTNII" to "HTC-8900" and I can now receive MMS messages full size.
So, maybe the fix is this:
For no MMS reception or spotty MMS reception, change radio.
For sending/receiving limits, check your Registry settings, and check your Device ID name.
At least, it worked for me, this time on ATT in So Cal.
overland2:
Hunting around the registry, I found the following key:
HKLM\Software\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader\User-Agent
mine was set to:
Vodaphone/1.0/HTC_Kaiser/3.08.161.0
In addition, the key:
HKLM\Software\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader\x-wap-profile
had a value of:
http://www.htcmms.com.tw/voda/kaiser-1.0.xml
This is from the 5.0.31.7 Package Alex has in his kitchen. I cooked this into my ROM based on the 3.02.405.0 WM 6.1 ROM. I can't receive mms either, but I can send. I am using an ATT Tilt on the ATT network.
I suspect these two reg keys need to be corrected...can you check yours?
GSLEON3 - Can you lend some additional assistance? Thanks..
My experiences with MMS on Windows Mobile 6.1 with At&t are as follows:
I am currently using JohanDC's DCS v1.5 WM6.1 with Radio 1.64.06.04 and the "Att Internet n MMS settings.cab" instead of the autoinstalled settings* and I CAN both send and receive what appear to be full sized image mms. (they are not thumbnail sized at least)
I have also tried Sleuth's WM6.1 with both radio 1.64.08.21 (it came bundled) and 1.64.06.04 and the same cab and could send but was unable to recieve. The phone would wake up from a sleep as if it were about to recieve but it would never connect to download nor would it even give any notification.
*edit*
Reg entries:
HKLM\Software\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader\User-Agent
value= HTC-8500/1.2
HKLM\Software\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader\x-wap-profile
value= http://www.arcsoft.com/mobile/UAProf/ArcSoft-MMSUA-PPC-v42.xml
Thank you Zer0.
You may want to consider changing UserAgent to HTC-8900, although I suspect the 8500 is adequate because it is a Hermes. Did you happen to grab that settings cab you use from the Hermes section?
If you could, can I ask that you post the cab you use to set the ATT mms settings, so that I can extract it and look at the reg settings it changes? I want to see if there are other settings we are missing...
Thanks!
Thanks for the ideas on changing the Radio versions. I reloaded WM6.1 based v3.0 by Sleuth. MMS worked for the first try but then like usual i could not receiver them. I loaded up Radio Rom ver. 1.58.26.20. I then soft reset my Tilt and have received 4 MMS's in the last 1/2 hr with no problems. So i hoping this is the fix I've been looking for.
At&t settings cab attached.
OK heres the issue. When I originally went to 6.1 my mms worked great right out of the box on Duttys Rom. Two days later i could no longer recieve mms. I tried reflashing and using connection setup. Still no recieve. I tried reflashing and manually configuring. Still no recieve. I tried reflashing and using a different settings cab each time. I have tried everyone i could find for ATT (5 in all i think). I tried flashing every 6.1 radio just to see if that could have any chance. I reflashed the rom and played with nearly every reg setting that I had any clue what it was for. Still no recieve. If I send a MMS from my wifes phone mine wakes up but it never connects and recieves. I tried flashing every 6.1 rom out there. Only one ever let me recieve. That was the XTRM rom. However it has huge TCPMP issues so i couldnt stay with that one. Has anyone else with this issue actually found a workaround? How many on US ATT have the ability to recieve MMS? Could anyone that does PM me and send me theyre exported registry key for MMS? It has to be some type of issue with the registry causing it not to querry and connect to the server. Sometimes my mms options will say 300k max send but my composer when creating a mms will say 600k. Its almost like theres two different mms programs overlapping one another. Im open to any suggestions at this point.
Confirming MMS issues on ATT network with Tilt.
As previously posted by other users, I can send just fine but I can not receive any messages. Currently using Dutty's 6.1 with 1.64.08.21
Throughout all my flashing experiences, this has changed back and forth. Sometimes I can receive but not send, sometimes send but not receive, sometimes no MMS whatsoever, and on vary rare, vary brief occasions, I can send and receive.

At&T MMS trouble

Hello everyone
I have been a fan of all cooks in xda-developers. I must say that I have tried every new Roms available.
One thing that keeps me trying the new roms is, can't receive MMS messages.
I am on AT&T in Atlanta area. I can send and receive sms but I can only send MMS messages.
I have used/ tried every radios too with same result.
Even Hyperdragon's AT&T mms hack didn't work.
I have searched and read all kinds of info on this and called AT&T to see if it was provisioned to receive mms. All the things are ok at the AT&T side.
I would love to solve and receive mms messages in the near future with your help.
Thanks guys in advance
sometimes it's a network issue with att. ive had this problem before. you just need to call att and they should be able to fix it. at least they did when my phone wouldnt send or recieve mms.
Ahh..I did that already with no such luck. Matter of fact , I called them 3 times so far. They told me to bring my phone in to do "sim-swap". As you know I can't do that because of " Cooked Rom" in my AT&T Tilt.
theres a link in the wiki explaining how to revert everything back to warranty settings

You can do a SIM-swap. They don't look at the guts of your OS just to change your SIM card.
Also, if you search the forums, there is a cab file that has all the ATT sms and mms settings in it. I use this when ever im having problems.
Also, are you using the default sms program built into WM or are you using an add on threader program?

Here is a customized ATT Settings cab that ATW and myself created that sets up the ATT settings w/o the proxy.
Mod Edit: Also allows creation mode in your MMS settings.
I had the same problem and tried may cabs posted some worked for a day and then failed again which I do not understand why. Finally I found this and it is working for me for a while. Try and see if it works.
I have tried "shogun_cing mms fix" with Hyperdragon. And still not able to receive mms ...dang.
On to try RR AT&T cab. I ll report back.
Maybe post exactly which rom you are using and post your message in that thread? I've had the exact same problem and have since try an MMS 1st thing after flashing to see if I am going to keep a ROM or not. Most new ROM's work since akaDonny went and found the dependency's needed for Arcsoft MMS.

By the way which rom did you use?
Well, after reading this thread last night I realized it's been quite awhile since I'd sent an MMS. Usually when I receive them, it has me go to www.viewmymessage.com. I don't think much of it because of all the flashing I do to my phone. Turns out after adding my settings, I couldn't send or receive MMS either. I called ATT told them my issue and somehow they fixed it again. I was told to turn my cell off and on 3 times and to wait 15 minutes before sending an MMS so that the data they were sending my SIM would fix it.

Well...just got back from AT&T store to do a sim-swap, jumping jelly fish- it's working now.
I am unsure if the sim-swap did the trick or some of the AT&T setting cabs I tried.
One way to find out is to flash other roms to see if it works.
Just can't understand why changing the sim card works....
they didn't have to swap my sim. i don't understand how they couldn't help you over the phone as well. Anyway, looks like your problem was resolved and that's what matters eh?

I know the shogun cab usually fixes any problems im having with MMS when i flash a new rom.. Is this cab/fix better then the shogun cab.. could you explain the differences?
thanks...
still using schap's 4.30
Just because I don't want to start a new thread, shogun cingular works just fine with receiving mms, though generally 9 times out of ten I never receive or can't play without saving, the AUDIO part of mms' when sent even though everyone elses devices (non htc) play just fine. Very annoying issue as most of the recipients devices; Lg vu's, samsung, blackberry's, and even their ****ty razr's get full playback of video and audio in their mms. What say you All the Way?
No Problem
Ever since I had my sim card changed at AT&T store, every rom I flashed the sms and mms works prefect.
After new flash I let the "auto" connection setup do its thing and voila its working. On a rare instances when it does not work, I just use one the "AT&T Wap MediaNet & MMs setting" cab file.
for those of you having trouble with mms , try changing sim, it worked for me.
