Dated tasks shown in calendar... Am I crazy? - General Topics

Hi all. I just created a task due 6/13, and noticed it did not display in my calendar. I could've sworn that when I had a dated task, it was displayed in my calendar as well as the task list. Is my mind playing tricks on me?
Can someone please tell me if WM does do this? I scoured the settings for tasks & calendar, but no dice.
I also recently installed WM6, so I don't know if that has something to do with it, but I have a hard time thinking MS would remove this...
Thanks!!
Ryan

dont think i ever had them show in my cal
maybe you had some 3th party application which would
create appointments for dated tasks

very helpful advice, thx a lot.

A Better Calendar?

Hi all, I have had Windows Mobile phones for about 2 years now and have thoroughly enjoyed hacking them with the help of the awesome developers here, my old vogue and now my touch pro become instantly better phones when I load up somebody's well designed ROM. But with all of my messing around with my phones the one thing I have never come across is a really great calendar app.
I have tried all the standard winmo apps from developer 1 etc. But they are all just variations on the windows mobile calendar... which to be honest, considering what else is out there on other platforms is total crap.
I want to know if anyone has come across a really solid calendar app, something more like google calendar or the palm pre's calendar, for windows mobile? I realize that the winmo app was designed to sync with outlook and not necessarily be the end all calendar for it's users, but for a lot of us non-business consumers it's not enough, we (or at least I) don't use outlook and am not satisfied with simply syncing my google calendar to my phone (which has many annoying limitations btw)
Anyhow any thoughts, suggestions, or perhaps guesses as to why no such application has yet found it's way to windows mobile? Perhaps that will change?

Complete agreement, nothing else comes close to being finger friendly.
Go with Thumbcal on your poll!
Wow how did I miss this great app. Ok of all the calendar apps I've tried this is hands down the best. I think if you could drag-input appointments the way you do in google calendar perhaps within a new "day" view, that would be cool. Oddly enough I think that's about my only complaint, everything else is fantastic... if I could drag and drop so to speak my work schedule into it one day at a time instead of inputing the title/time in the create appointment screen it would be damn near perfect.
Ok no I take that back, built in 2 way sync with google calendar without the use of activesync and some other "palm pre" like features and it would be perfect. But for windows mobile this is pretty darn close!!
Just to throw in my two pennies worth. I tried Thumbcal quite extensively, and quite liked it, but it still seemed lacking. It's certainly the best actual APP for calendar purposes, in a finger friendly style.
However... having tried every WinMo interface under the sun, I have now comfortably settled on the Manila 2 TF3D Calendar Tab included in various Topaz / Rhodium ROMs, tied in with the TF3D Compact Homescreen with dated appointments and all synced to my Google Calendar via Active Sync.
The only slight issue I have with this set-up is that the calendar tab takes about 5 seconds to load appointment highlights. If anyone knows of a tweak to speed this up, that would be close to perfection.

(PROBLEM) Inesoft Calendar

tried the above today, so using the latest version.
the GUI has problems, once I switch to Today or List or anything that changes the page, all the entries disappear. Only works again (for the first load) if I exit and restart the app.
anyone else got this problem?

I had the exact same problem, went back to v2.27 and its working great again.
Maybe u can try using SBSH Calendar Touch.
I am using it and it works well with HTC HD2
I have it installed on the Tilt2 and have the same problem. What I have found that fixes it for now is to shut down the software, then delete the file InesoftCalendar.vol file from the device. Once deleted start the program again and then update your calendars.
Make sure to disable the autosync function from the program otherwise when it syncs you will have trouble with the software again. I am disappointed that they have not yet fixed this nor responded to my e-mails.

Problem starting Inesoft calendar
Hi, this is my first post.
I installed Inesoft calendar just fine. Downloaded my Google calendars and appointment, no problem. But here's what happens, if I exit the program I can't start it again. (The apps name briefly appears in top left hand corner of the screen)
I've tried to uninstall and reinstall the app, same result.
Any ideas as to what is wrong?
I like Inesoft calendar because it lets me have multiple separate calendars. So if anyone knows of another program for WM 6.5 that can do that I would to hear.
I know of app's that can sync multiple Google calendars to Outlook, but I'm on a Microsoft exchange server, and my Outlook calendar is also my work calender viewable by all my colleagues, so syncing is not an option.

Calender with Notes

I have an HTC Evo 4G and I was wondering if anybody can suggest an alternate program for the program that will enable me to make notes on individual days, i noticed that you can only setup appointments and what not in the stock calender. i'm trying to record information for each day, is there any good apps that will be able to do this? i've tried different types of apps like calwidget and s2 calender but those dont give me the option to add notes to specific days. I would also like to find a program that can do recurring appointments better then the stock calender, i dont believe im able to make a recurring twice a week appointment. =\ thank you very much for any suggestions!

Time, Calendar, Agenda App for Shift Workers?

Hi all, I noticed this thread but sadly no replies... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=866933
Basically I am a shift worker and am looking for a shift workers app that will replicate a shift pattern through the whole year or between predefined dates. Also as my shifts do vary from time to time the app should allow for replicated days to be changed.
Many of my iPhone colleagues have an app that can do this but not it seems on Android.
I sync my Calendar items with Google Calendar so I could add them manually that way but it will takes ages.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Hello, after reading "iPhone colleagues......" I started to search something. I'm a shift worker too and I've not ever felt the need of, but you are right! so I've found these apps:
-Gemini calendar
-Shifty lite
-Work calendar lite
let me know which is the best, I'm start to testing!
Regards
Hi,
there is an app, called "Quick Addroid" on the market. The app adds shift patterns to the standard calendar. You can define your own pattern.

Thanks for the suggestion... I will definitely check it out.

Questions about Calendar and Poweramp

I've got two questions about the Calendar and Poweramp and hope this is the right place to post.
I sync my Google calendar and office Outlook calendar with my Samsung Galaxy. I usually have the Launcher Pro Paid Calendar widget or Calwidget on one of the homescreens. I've noticed that after tapping some events in these widgets and perhaps deleting one or two*, I'll get a message on my notification bar stating that there are too many calendar deletes. I never really paid much attention to them, until today. I noticed that the first two events for the week have been deleted, though I'm almost 100% sure that I never deleted them. So my question is, can the widgets be 'buggy' such that if I were to accidentally double tap an event, it gets deleted?
*The reason I deleted the events is that I often get duplicates (or even 'triplicates'). Does that happen to others?
Lastly, I tried installing the modded transparent Poweramp widget two weeks ago. My phone had a pop-up message stating that the modded Poweramp could not be installed. So I deleted the .apk file, but I still can't install the original free Poweramp. Any ideas what might have gone wrong? There's a possibility that I might have copied and placed the file in another folder while using Root Explorer, but I can't seem to find it.
Thanks in advance.
I just lost almost all the Feb and March appointments in my office outlook. They still shows on my phone's calendar, though I'm not sure whether they'll disappear later. And my Nov and December appointments in outlook have duplicated or quadruplated themselves.
Looks like I can't trust outlook anymore.

Well, you know what the issue was now.....
I still don't know why Outlook should go bonkers though.
