HTC CDMA Device - General Topics

HTC is releasing a CDMA device. I haven't found anything online about this device from HTC. I have a demo/beta testing device. It is preloaded with Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional.

Just wondering, your sig says you have the HTC Titan, I currently have it as well (Telus HTC P4000). I found the next line interesting as it says you have windows mobile 6. Just wondering: How'd you manage to get your hands on that? I'm still stuck with wm5.

Sprint and Verizon versions in the US will ship with WM6.

P4000
I am thinking of buying the p4000, and am very interested in the prospect of upgrading to WM6. Obviously no one at Telus has any idea about what I am talking about when I ask them. So, I ask you guys, is it reasonable to expect a WM6 from this community?
In the interim, would the iPhone skin I see be compatible with the P4000 (titan).
Thank you for your time

Newbie - just got HTC / Verizon flavor 6800
So I have to admit that this forum is great. I just recieved my WM6 Pro Verizon flavor xv6800 HTC device yesterday. I see there are ROMs for about every flavor of GSM based devices... are there any for the CDMA based ones or does it matter? I'm anxious to get the TouchFlo app if it's available via CAB and not a ROM if possible.
So... Verizon's CDMA based HTC is finally in the wild as of 11/28/07 for business accounts and expected in stores by Dec 5th!

release date
it is being releashed on the 6th october, but it may be delayed depending on your network and service provider, but on the topaz, you should get a free upgrade
please use the search function, as there are quite a few posts about this, but mainly in the rom development (you can download a 6.5 rom that you can install on your phone if you are after one)
Yeah my bad, what i meant was is there anyway this will appear in a seperate install feature?
So is it already in the 6.5 cooked roms?
I tried to get a copy of Vlingo but not supporting Topaz yet..
tell me
some have it include, can't remember which one though
however, you can put in your email on this address, to get a notification, when the official one comes out
looking here though it is meant to be included automatically with 6.5

A few things I found...

Decided to take a crack (lol pun intended ) at a couple of things the other night, and stumbled across something interesting - HTC's internal bidding system.
And what I've found are parts that they are buying for whatever models of phones they're working on/thinking about working on. I saw parts for an HTC Touch Pro from 2005, parts from the HTC Magic from 2006, etc.. Well, I found parts, as of the other day, for the 'HTC Incredible', so, they must be working on it.
Also, I found reference to xda-developers.com inside of an actual bidding-slip for reference to the models that they had listed - I thought that was pretty damn cool.
I've highlighted different model names and such, and the reasoning I pointed out the Bahamas and the Memphis are so you can see that the models are not always only listed on the right-side of the screen, too.
Here are some screenshots for you all:

Just wanted to bring this thread back up, because now the HTC Incredible is official, and is being released on Verizon.
I wonder what phones I could find info. on if I were to look now?
Just found some more models to wonder about.

Huge stash of HTC Android codenames found within 2.1 ROM

You know that leaked HTC Sense ROM with Android 2.1 underneath? Well, somebody did some digging and found a wild stack of HTC Android handset codenames buried within. It starts in the realm of the familiar, with mentions of Dragon, Passion, Dream and Hero, but then it starts to get a little wild. Here's the full list: Bahamas, Bravo, DesireC, Dragon, Dream, Espresso, Halo, HeroCT, HeroC, Hero, Huangshan, Incredible, Legend, Liberty, Memphis, Paradise, PassionC, Passion, Sapphire and Supersonic. Pretty wild, right? There's no telling what exactly this list implies, other than the fact that Passion and Dragon are indeed on the books, and that HTC's naming department can really let the superlatives fly, but we're sure all will be made clear over the next year or two.

With HTC having had announced their intentions on diversifying their portfolio to include a balance mix of Android and Windows Mobile devices, we're assuming this will roughly translate to a 1:1 ratio of Microsoft and Google operating systems. The latest leak inside the Android 2.1 ROM for HTC points out to a slew of 20 new Android-based devices. If the ratio of 1:1 is indeed correct, it would be assumed that HTC will probably make it out to the market with 10-20 new Windows Mobile handsets as well, considering sometimes not all handsets are released to the market due to carriers or other roadblocks.
Here are the Android codenames: Bahamas, Bravo, DesireC, Dragon, Dream, Espresso, Halo, HeroCT, HeroC, Hero, Huangshan, Incredible, Legend, Liberty, Memphis, Paradise, PassionC, Passion, Sapphire and Supersonic. At any rate, 20 new devices--for one platform alone--is a lot to digest!

Ooops!

[Help] New to this, some counseling please. :)

Hi, guys!
After much waiting, begging and whatnot, I got a brand new, used Qtek S100 from a friend of mine.
Now, I've been messing around with the ROMs, and got MA_DT_WWE_DutchRetail_11200_550_11200_Ship installed.
Now, what is the ROM you guys advise me to install, to better make use of my Magician?
Of course, I'd like to not have problems with Blutooth or the camera, so what is the most stable release available,
not needing to be the most recent?
Thanks all.

Hi, simurgh.
I've tried out all cotulla rom releases and i think that the "HTCMAG_ROM_WWE_O3" is the best upgrade for your Magician.
of course if you wanna try windows mobile 6.5 you're gonna have to give up your camera 'cause current release of WM6.5 has its camera removed.

Thank you, Dante.
That table is just class.
I believe it really is the best option.
I'm also wondering how the configuration of sms/mms/calls go.
Any help on this as well?

"Voice Call" and "SMS" don't need to be configured.
Non of these Roms supports "MMS" configuration but you can install "MMS service pack" on WWE_03, I didn't test this service pack on other roms but i think it should work as well.
You can download "MMS service pack" from here:

Great! Now just to figure how to get my SIM contacts (solved!).
ROM installed and running nicely

Big Android BBQ Devices Museum

Hi all,
For those XDA´ers who are attending I would like to ask for your support to the project.
The only thing we need is a few ppl bringing old and not so old working-nice shaped devices to the BBQ. We´ll have a glass showcase to allow BBQ´ers to see the devices. And devices will be safe from touching at all time.
Devices loaned for the exhibition will be kept in security at all times
No need for chargers, just bring devices fully charged
The idea is to get 50 representative devices from all times who you think they deserve to be in a museum.
Please reply to this thread only if you can help us bringing your device by leaving your name and the device you can lend for the exhibition.
We will contact you via PM to give you further details.
Thanks so much in advance!
