which ROM KITCHEN do you use/like ? post ur reviews/feedback here.

I like Pandora's, seems complete and the ROM is fast. Even without overclocking

I was using Pandoras so I could have the latest and greates WM6 ROM however it proved to be too unstable and most importantly: I couldn't make A2DP work. Anyway I switched back to the previous WM6 .960 and grabbed Core 2.0, chucked it into the Core Pro kitchen and found it to be awesome - the programs just do it - no problems and even less clicks than the other kitchens! Plus it can extract any ROM you like into packages which is the biggest bonus.

I've used Faria's RK, edhaas' RomPacker, and now the Core RK. Overall, I like the Core one the best due to what all it can do. My only complaint with it is that all the scripts assume everything is on your system drive and in the directory Core. I'm going to have to rework all the scripts so it isn't like this, as I will sometimes have multiple kitchens setup as I test various things (and to keep old versions where I can fall back to them but still be in a working kitchen). This isn't an issue with the RomPacker kitchen.

I agree with you on this but one thing it did remind me of is that its very good about backing up previous files cooked in the kitchen in the Core kitchen.

I have a tough time choosing between CorePro and Pandora's, simply because I like the option, of being able to check and uncheck the boxes!! LOL. But the corePro kitchen is very advanced, it shaved ~13mbs off of the ROM I cooked in Pandoras.

I'm probably one of the few who prefers to use Molski's Devpack kitchen. only reason i use it is quite simply because it was the first kitchen i used! that and it was relatively easy to learn (i only really use it to add/remove programs and stuff, nothing exotic). the best bit of it is you just lob the 'nk.nbf' into the source folder, dump and its ready for you. i dont know if the different kitchens like pandora give you this option.

Yes, that's the kitchen i used, mostly. But i had to repack it so that others can use it...since i had it all spread allover across my HDD ...
I think i forgot to thank 004 cos his kitchen meant the begining of my kitchen.

Mine does !
It is a combination of molski's way of cooking combined with the new stuff that's out there.
I kept both ways of cooking.

I started to think this thread was heading towards a "popularity contest" like the "best chef" thread...
I'd like to think everyone's goal in this forum is to offer support to other developers and users, and to improve the overall user-experience.
I personally don't care if anyone uses the kitchen I primarily support - which is based on doubleofours adaption of the new mUn rom.
However, if you do want use it, I'll do what I can to help make it work as best as I can. Because in the end, if we all work to fix all the issues, we all end up with an excellent rom - and just the way we each individually want it. Which kitchen isn't the base factor, it's working together as a team.
My goal is to help other users, not to win a contest of "who's the best" or whatever. I build a rom as I would want it, let others try it, and update the kitchen as issues are found. Is it the best way? Who cares? As a group working to debug issues, everyone can benefit.
Maybe someone should start a poll for who's the most supportive in the forum? At least that would reward others by recoginition for support, rather than how many users they can convince to use their stuff. There's no monitary reward here - let's not treat it that way.

I have experimented with every kitchen thats been released so far. I still like the old school methods of rom cooking though.

I agree with you, that's why i decided to have some fun. I however think some of your message was addressed to me. I don't want to win an popularity contest and i think the number of posts and if you read them all you'll see that i always tryed to help others...even when the question was asked 100000 times before.
I started to hate polls...just because the fact that i know how much i worked on every release that i made, and how big support i gave every time and i don't say that others didn't do it, cos i am sure that they did ...but i don't like to get my hard work in any stupid contest.
All messages written above by me had a bitter sweet sarcasm in them.
You can't imagine how i feel untill you do it yourselves. It is really degrading to see that after over 3000 downloads with previous roms and another 500 with this kitchen(for the wizard only) i released...which i surely consider the only FULL kitchen there is out there except Scoter Kitchen , people making my hard work into some stupid contest.
I did it for all not for just a few, and i didn't made any test on who's the best one to have my rom.
You're right, this is democracy but it's wrongfully understood. Why ? Because i asked soooo many time for suggestions with my every release and i took notice of them all but people still not satisfyed. I asked : what do you think it's missing from my kitchen ...no responses...what should i think ? That is perfect the way it is or that people just don't care and only start stupid threads so they can use the "best" rom , the "best" kitchen..and so on.
Mabe it's just me...but i don't want to spend so many hours in front of my pc so that some people trash my work as they think.
I am so fed up with this that you can't even imagine.

Which ROM is the fastest

Hello,
Since there are so many ROMS out there and some dated as far as last year, can anyone give me advice on the fastest available ROM with least pork fat in it?
For example my only use for the Kaiser is Exchange email and web browsing nothing else. I make calls, SMS etc from my iPhone and only use this phone for exchange email. So with this in mind what advice can you guys give me as to the fastest ROM available for this?
I currently have Duttys ROM of March 8th.
Much appreciated.

I think Alex's is fast, so is Blackwood, Dutty, Panosha, Q-Mobile, Schaps, Sleuth, Vega etc, etc.
Do you know how I know this? Because I tried them all - instead of posting useless duplicate threads because I'm too damn lazy to do the work myself or my time is more valuable than yours etc.
Or, here's a tip, how about doing a search for some of the benchmarks which have been posted?

First try all cooked Rom's and you will find it ...
dont just ask for opinion.
for me,i like dutty rom's all of it,but for now i'm using Hyper dragon

Maybe someone can run some bench marks on my cooked ROM's I don't think anyone ever has and I would love to know how they match up to other on the forum If you are going to run a benchmark on my rom's please benchmark the one I am about to release in about 10 minutes

As a matter of fact: I DID test your 3.03 ROM. Compared to others it wasn't that superfast, at least: according to SPB Benchmark. But than again: this test doesn't seem to be very reliable for WM 6.1.
Will also test your new ROM (OR WAS THAT A JOKE???)

This is a forum. People should be allowed to ask questions and ask the opinions of others. Some people are far to eager to do others down.
There are new ROMs coming out all the time. I have tried at least 20 since Christmas.
If he had done a search to find an answer to his question it probably would not have any relevant answers.
It is a perfectly valid question and as a member of this forum I for one do not mind answering it.
In my opinion . . . there is not much to choose between all of the 6.1 ROMs for speed. However, if you are not looking for all the whistles and bells that the Kaiser can offer, go for a Lite ROM. Certainly go for one without the Cube. If you ever intend to use video calling, go for the latest Dutty 6.1 ROM.
There, that wasn't too painful and hopefully I helped someone who asked a valid question in a public forum.

@cgjones - I agree there is too much bashing in the forum. My momma always told me that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
That being said....while this is a valid question to ask (what is the fastest ROM), it has been asked before...and not just once or twice.
This thread could have been easily avoided, or at least made a little more specific, by doing a simple search.
@raaj - use the search feature (the Google one, not the built in forum search) and type in "Kaiser fastest ROM" and you will find lots of threads, opinions, etc.

Thank You cgjones. There are too many smartasses around that post just to get their post count up and with egos I might add. For all you smartasses or rather asses I should say I have done searches but notice I ask for some particulars that would suit my needs? A search doesnt bring answers to my questions hence my question and opinions in the first place. There are FAST ROMS and there are even fast ROMS without all the junk. Thats what I wanted to know rather than do a search of the hundreds of threads here which I might add are confusing.

I admit it! Im overwhelmed with all the information on this site. I would really appreciate the technical expertice of this helpful community. So far Ive installed HardSPL and im downloading roms from alex, faria, and thinkin about dutty's roms. Im researching on which radio version is the best for me and so far it looks like 1.47.30.10 from DR Puttingham's experience. Im also starting to understand that the best way is really to cook up your own rom but id rather start with a lite or clean version with great looks, speed, functionablitly. Im curious as to why I only see a few people cooking up roms when i know there are better chef's out there like...molski? again...what do i know..im just a noob.
so here i am asking the vast community their opinions of best of...
best chef? (not just for quantity but for quality)
best lite/clean rom?
best full rom?
most useful radio along with your location?
top useful programs?

You know you're never going to get a proper answer to these as everyone has their own preference not mention they aren't gonna say one is better than the other... Why not just try them all and see what you like?
And I think most people don't cook their own ROMs cause:
1) They don't want to learn how to, or
2) They don't have the time, or
3) Somebody else is already doing the hard work (and doing it well..), so why bother?
Personally, I think I'm a combination of the 2nd and 3rd, which therefore makes #1 redundant (for me)..

okay ... first of all you should really think about what you post before you post.
You can't compare the chefs because each one invests there precious time into our community here (WITHOUT COMPENSATION) and does the hardwork for us of making a rom that is better than the piece of **** our carrier shipped us. So in my eyes they are all the greatest and bestest. Choosing a radio is a trial experience you have to find the one you like that best suites your location.
And if you don't like what other chefs are doing get the dumped rom for your carrier and work on it your self.
this by the way is the nicest reply you'll probably get (not unless someone just won the lotto or got laid or is stoned .. .in which case they won't be able to reply ...)

as long as its compatible w/ rom ur using; wm6 rom requires a wm6 radio and wm6.1 rom requires wmk6.1 radio. having said plz read the kaiser wiki and the stickies. trust me all u ask is there.

99% radio out there are safe and you can freely switch around.
But, there is 1 radio ( kinda newest ) will keep you stuck. I dont wanna tell you cuz I want you to find out. More fun.

*NEW* Dutty ROM *NEW*

Asked a few times on Dutty's April thread and also sent a PM (although I didn't expect a reply from the PM)
My question is/was:
Is there going to be another Dutty ROM for the Kaiser? or is the April one the last. As there was a few minor problems with it there was mention he was going to do another but no one seems to be saying least of all Dutty - course I did read he was chilling for a bit.

If the cook doesn't answer you then just wait to see what he puts on the table. Unless your paying for the meal then be polite and don't bother the Chef. In short one would assume by your question that you have your pants custom made due to the sher size of your balls and I would bet their brass as well.

He did say in one of the threads that he was getting a new device so development might slow down on his kaiser roms. If I was reading between the lines I would guess he's looking to move on. But I'm not a mind reader and so will take whatever he says literally, but really it's none of my business whether he continues or not.
If you'd have read the threads properly you would have noticed him mentioning this, he has done so more than once. Anyway, take it easy, but really this goes against the grain of the community, i.e. 'giving', none of the cooks owe us anything so we shouldn't be chasing them up with whether they're releasing a new ROM not.

Ah ok...well if we are going to discuss something worthwhile... then by all means.
MY girlfriend and I have gotten into watching alot of asian horror, and have branched out into other countries as well.
Check out "El Orfanto", The Orphanage, a very good ghost story from Spain.
If you haven't seen Pan's Labyrinth, or really anything by Guillermo del Toro, you should check it out.
I must say that most of the asian horror is sort of "out there" and doesn't make as much of an impact to western sensibilities... good acting, pacing, but much left unexplained. One that isn't exactly "horror" but just an awesome, messed up story...see Oldboy, a korean film.

Dutty and a few others, are kinda sick of Kaiser & will be jumping ship shortly. Don't expect Great Kaiser roms forever. Not with newer & greater toys right around the corner. Many of us will be leaving shortly.

I never said it was my business, and maybe it 'goes against the grain' but it was a perfectly legitimate question and was asked clearly with nothing other than, I'll wait if there is another on the way.. rather than install the 'last' ROM.
What's hilarious is that my question was answered quickly and concisely by Infuruno (page 1 post 3!) - now that's all that was required simply put and job done!.

the cleanest rom you can have is the one you cook for your self... but then again, you may as well just use wm5 ass just about all of the new features that distinguish 6 and 6.1 are cooked into the oem. camera and mms is also an addon.
maybe you would have better luck if you actualy listed the features you wanted instead of the ones you didnt.
or better yet, learn to cook one, then you would understand how it works, and wouldnt ask for something like that.
all of the cooks on this forum try to cook the best rom. and the fact that you insult their cooking doesnt help. You dont go into a restaraunt asking for a raw piece of meat on a plate and then eat it; do you?!
