I'm currently using the MB rom and am thinking of going back to Excelins rom, does any one have the cab for contacts backup?
all of the WM6 roms seem to have a huge memory leak throughout the day. I have to soft reset every day, where I almost never had to with Execlins rom.
Thanks,
Mike

This has been posted numerous times. Please search. There is a thread in the Wizard Upgrading forum that is on the best freeware and I think its in that one. There is a thread in the Wizard forum on the must have software and I think its in that one. Search for my posts (but there are a ton) as I've posted it fairly recently here. I'd post it now but for some reason I'm getting an error trying to upload it, so just search.
Still looking for cab file
Thanks, but I've searched many time before posting. I've been on the forum a while and have only 4 post since I ususally find everything in threads. I found cabs for other back up programs but an looking for the one included in Faria and MB roms.
If any one can post a link or upload the cab.
Thanks,
Mike

I read these forums constantly, over the last year or so, they have been a huge help...you all have been a huge help. When I first started with XDA, I was most definitely a noob when it came to flashing phones...now I'm cooking my own ext_roms and working on my first full ROM.
I can't believe that I'm the only one not having all of these issues that so many have reported with WM6. I'm running Faria's WM6 (The Real Thing) with the 2.61.11 radio and after making a few reg changes (power saving, gprs performance, etc.), my MDA is more stable and faster than it ever was running any WM5 ROM. In fact, the only bug I seem to have remaining on my phone now is if I soft-reset while connected to a USB charger, it hangs on restart. Other than that, all is well.
I can go two days now before I need to recharge...by the end of the second day, I'm at about 20% remaining on my battery. My GPRS is always on as I have push email enabled. I am always surfing the net and/or streaming music and/or utilizing yahoo maps or dexonline. On average, I receive between 25 and 60 emails and between 20 and 40 five minute calls per day. I don't use Bluetooth or WiFi much, so maybe that's why my battery lasts so long?
Thanx.

Some issues I have that promted me to thinkabout going back
With xelencin and even Molskis 3.3AKU rom I didnt have these probelms to this extent. Some of the issues that I've had are:
Memeory drain. At the begining of a soft rest 25.7M free. By the end of the day after closing all apps- 18.2M. With xelencin and even Molskis 3.3AKU rom I didnt have this kind of drain after one day of use.
Lag in Apps opening and switching with multiple programs open.
Battery drain even with the HTC power management cab installed. With Wifi on for half a day, battery doesnt last a full day.
These are jsut some of the items that have me thinking of going back to WM5. I like all the apps and features included with the newest WM6 roms, so I would like to try to incorporate them into xelencin last rom.
With that said, ALL the COOKs of WM6 roms have done a great job. I appriciate all the options that they have given us to try.

Keep walking and you´ll find the CAB you want!
Start in Wizard forum by looking on that right icon with a clip format
You find all CABS attached and related to that thread.

3. HTC_Comm Manager 6 buttons
4. HTC_SymbolPad
5. Acrosoft mms also taken out the rom for people that don't use it.
6. SMS Still works
All my Registry Tweaks are left in for super performance:
This Rom Is superfast and so far stable which is too early to say.

WOW! Honestly, I have to say I haven't used one of your ROM's yet but you are supafast!
For now I'm using HELMI_C's latest ROM, that is fast and clean. Maybe I'll try your superfast clean ROM, when it's final.

all working for me so far
supalight, no kidding only 36.1mb.
is this rom compatible with the new unreleased at&t radio ver.1.27.14.09???
update..
rom IS NOT compatible with radio 1.27.14.09
duttythroy,
Installed the lite ROM. All went well. However, it doesn't automatically setup the connection. Normally it sets up the MediaNET connection (I'm on AT&T). Is this normal and do I need to manually create the connection?
Thanks.
-Mike
superlite doesnt include that........
I setup MediaNet manually. Is it recommended to use the Network Wizard or manual settings should be fine?
Dutty, 2 things:
Active Sync starts up after every reset whether I am plugged in or not. It won't close until I close it manually.
Comm Manager lost the bottom 2 buttons (3G and beam) randomly. They just disappeared when I opened comm manager. The buttons were there initially.
These things may be specific to me. Let me know.
newest radio wouldnt work with this rom. downgraded and worked fine on my tilt.
program memory is a little low around 63~65 mb max, where as i used to have 70~73 mb free with hybrid #4 lite
also there seems to be random screen freezing.

There seems to be a bug in the ROMs (not just Dutty's,it's in the original stock ROM too) concerning Active Synch. The workaround is to go to settings>phone>Time Zones, and uncheck the "Automatic change Time zone and clock" box.
Alemaker
Thanks for the fix on the active sync. Didn't think to actually search for the cure. Still can't figure the CommMgr issue.

With all WM6.1 ROMs coming out these days, I was wondering what benefits do you guys get from using WM6.1 ?
There are WM6 ROMs based on official WM6 for Wizard. Do not think it is the case for WM6.1 - our Wizard is too old
What I mean is that current WM6 roms have lots of things in terms of improving user experience and they are reliable, stable and fast. What WM6.1 buys you ? Better speed ? More RAM ? Stability ? Features (which ones) ?
E.g. I moved from WM5 to WM6 mostly because of VoIP calling. Currently using Jaguar 4, liked XM6Lite too. With adding SPB Pocket Plus/Diary/Weather I have great UI (even with scrolling).
What would drive me (and YOU) towards WM6.1 ? Any ideas ? Besides the obvious ... to have latest and greatest
in my experience, wm6.1 has been loads faster, as well as having the "threaded" sms view and internet explorer zooming. not too much else new, but like you said "the latest and greatest" is definitely what it is. TNT's official is a nice super-clean rom that works incredibly well. if i were you, i'd back everything up, flash on over, and give it a try. if you dont like it, its real easy to switch back.
No idea where all those WM6.1 roms originated but from a few days experience I can tell you my Wizard is running as fast as it did back at the WM5 days. Maybe even faster... Until a few days ago I used TNT.1933, now it's TNT.19199, both with HTC Home plugin. Reasons why one should absolutely upgrade to WM6.1:
faster, more responsive
much less lag between pressing buttons and actual OS reaction, application load times are noticably shorter, shorter windows boot time
less battery drain
The battery used to drop below 60% within 24 hours. Now, also 24 hours later, it's still at 78%!
improved messaging
combined SMS/MMS folder, threaded view of conversations instead of seperate messages which leads to a shorter message list and easier browsing
latest and greatest
I can recommend WM6.1 to every Wizard owner, no matter if they use WM5 or WM6. WM5 was fast, WM6.0 was a trade-off between speed and features, WM6.1 is simply put best of both worlds.

Just to touch on this, is this different than shogunmark_wm6_threaded.cab (the one pulled from the Treo, I believe)? Better? Not as good? I installed shogunmark's right off the bat, I didn't even look at (or know there was) the built-in threading. Before I reflash 6.1, can anyone who has used both (or just the TNT one) post some screens? Or thoughts?
Well,
it's obvious that you've never tried my slim edition ROM...just do it!
I'm using the slim edition. Its just about the best thing I've ever tried on my device.
its just amazing, much much faster, amazing on battery and like no issues whatsoever. try the TNT rom, it is by far the best rom ive ever used

I really recommend it That coming from a WM5 cooker that didn't like WM6
I am using Nothin 's Paradox 5.2 Clean Version (WM6).
After loading 600 contacts, a lot of calendar items, PocketBreeze, PhoneAlarm, ILauncher, PocketInformant etc. I have 30,5 MB free RAM.
All the other ROMs PIE in some webpage ( xda-developers) I receive the message something like "Script may slows down your computer", and yes it slows down.
In Nothin' ROM if I push the "back" button PIE goes back , very fast and exactly where it was.
I downloaded 3 different WM6.1, Merlin Slim Edition was the best, but all the screen response, scrolling in PIE was slower then Nothin 's Paradox 5.2 .
In Merlin Merlin Slim Edition with NO loaded contacts etc. I had 31,6 MB free RAM ( in Nothin 's ROM it was about 35 MB).
So am back to Nothin 's Paradox 5.2 Clean Version.
Nothin, you should try your Nothin 's Paradox 5.2, if the WM6.1 is bad.
OK. It was a silly joke, I am waiting for Nothin 's Paradox 6.1
WM 6.1
I agree with the comments I addition TNT rom is superb really fast and loads of stability
Where can i get Nothin 's Paradox 5.2 rom? Cant find it. Is it g4 safe?
I found it. Its super fast rom. And it is g4 safe.
W6.1 is brilliant--- Runs so fast on my wizard no need to overclock !!.
Much better.
I have flashed many roms and I have to say WM6.1 is the best. I dont use ir so Im not bothered by that issue with the tnt rom. Im sure once he is back it will be taken care of anyway. The rom is so much faster than wm6 even without overclocking.
I have been using TNT for a while now but honestly I am loving this newest 6.1 version the most. I have to agree with everything that has been said. It is quick, its battery life seems to be longer than before and I LOVE the threaded sms. My MDA is coming up on a year old and I'm hoping I can get another year out of it... (Except for the buzzing I hear sometimes from how much I have dropped it.) Now the Overclocking comments I have to disagree with. I think it seemed a little laggy at first before I installed battery status and set up the omap. And this may just be my personal experience but it seems my edge is connected more often and that I have a better connection. I havent had the weather tab tell me that it wasnt able to connect once yet.
+1 for wm6.1
i was sick of how slow and unstable my xplore 2 wm6 rom was running after months of use, it was soooo lagged, flashed 6.1 T.N.T professional and now it runs freaking fast! finally, let's hope it doesn't get slower with the time.. for now it's a joy to use
Thats another thing too... After time random glitchy things would happen. For a while my vibration on the phone would just completely not work and I was thinking that my thing just stopped working 100%. I reinstalled and now its working fine again.
wm6.1 is much faster than wm6 but all of them (till now) have battery drain issue in my device (o2 minis), with ANY radio!
What about compatibility? WIll programs like S2U2, Resco Explorer etc work on 6.1? Have you guys tried them on 6.1?
Went back to WM6.0
To me there was no big difference.....some of the 6.0 rom's I think are alot better.....that's just me....
need to chang me signature
A chinese version but can be changed to English.
Extremely fast scrolling same as of Dr. Gonzo 19700 ROM
Beautifull animated startup/shutdown screens
Few S740 ROM features
cool incoming screen!
No bugs so far i could find
Good looking fonts!
Shadow in menus!
Overall very fast!!!
(Theme shown is installed seperately, not part of ROM)
Try it once..
All credit goes to CCWAV.... The author of this ROM.

Hi skchattha, back again after a long gap. Where did you get this from ? You are a fan of chinese ROMs like me. They are pretty fast stable and smooth.
From screenshots I fnd that storage is only 34+ mb (a good 15mb less than all std ROMs) and RAM is 15+ mb (Which is also 5-6 mb less). Are the screenshots with some applications installed / running or they are just after installing the ROM ?
What about texting - Is it plumsip or normal xT9 ?
Anyway, I am downloading the ROM anyway and will install it in my free time and let you know the results.
@tipu2185
The other day I read that your battery lasts for 3 days with fireburned ROM (clean 1.1). How do you get that ? Can you give us a little hint of your usage pattern. I am onto the same ROM and I surf around 60-120 minutes everyday besides normal calling and SMS. My battery only lasts 15 to 18 hours. I was on radio version 4.1.13.60. I have downgraded to 4.1.13.54. I have plans to test 4.1.13.47 also. Since you are on this radio what is your opinion about this Radio ROM ?
skchattha, I am very sad. You have posted a great ROM (storage is 51+ mb and RAM is almost 20mb), very fast, stable and lots of customised apps but after setting language to US English and locale to Englsih (UK) a lot of them are still in chinese. There is no problem in using the phone and surfing /texting etc but we will not be able to take advantages of this wonderful ROM as many things are still in chinese. In fact there is a menu in setting (in chinese) which has many submenus which I have not found in any of the ROMs. I was trying to paste some thumbnails for everybody to see but I don't have a screenshot installed right now. (I would request you to paste some screenshots of submenus available in special menu under serial no 9 in second page of settings just below device name).
Lastly I would tell everyone to install this ROM experimentally at least once and experience the faster interface.
now lets see who Mods this ROM to english...
how is the battery life as compared to other Rose ROM's ?
And more importantly:
who is going to make a Dutch version of this Rom?

Yes, its is chinese same as of Hikey but much more stable and fast. You will need some changes to get it in English mostly.
Battery consumption is normal.
I always had issues in battery meter in other ROMS like if its 16% at this time, if you will reboot phone, it might come out showing 50% or more, anything random !!!

Well I dont use phone that much. I mean I have my laptop with me all the time and WLan is available every where so i use laptop for surfing. 3 days is the time with 4-5 calls a day with few same amount of sms per day. I think you should shift to this radio it is better.
Hoping for feedback on this rom is it worth changing?

Im presenting my own cooked rom atlast.as im not a software professional not knowing ABC of software, found it very difficult to build a rom initially. But thanks to the XDA and its members could manage to build a rom ,though I build it few months back I tried to make it even more stable and less heavy, finally im releasing for u guys, plz test it and give me the suggestions for further improvements.
I have to give credit to many members of XDA people without them I could not do this.Specially to Airxterme for his OS Kitchen because though I tried with other kitchens I was a failure, finally with OS kitchen I succeeded, than to MIKY I followed many of his tweaks for my rom. Also there are many other people who helped me in the process.thanks for all the guys out there.

I've tried it, looks awesome, I'm really enjoying it, finally I've found the rom for me . Very good for a first build, way better then Onix IMO. At least it's bug free, so far I've seen only one thing you MAY consider a bug: When you go to settings in the Home screen and start pressing button down to go lower (there are two more options), you don't see where the cursor (selected rectangle) is going, you only know you're down, you must use the touch pad to scroll down. Hope you understood me, will report more in the future as I'm done with rom upgrades for a long time
Thank you very much,,
hhb.
EDIT: Shut down screen is NOT cool!

ur welcome.
highlighted area (rectangle)?? u mean in the start menu,it will not move,u have to scroll the start menu then have to select the icon u want to open than that icon will be highlighted.
Well, sorry for the bad news but... I replaced it (now I'm using Mikey's rom and I can say it's really good so far). Main reason is: once after turned on, I couldn't turn off wireless... (please consider and fix that). Sorry but that's major, you need more work on it. Cheers m8.
i am really excited about your new rom and i shall download and install it in the evening. Will soon give you feedback.
one issue if i may ask for your help is that after installing hspl 3.10 and custom roms the screen alignment of my elfin goes out very frequently. I have to realign my screen repeatedly rendering the phone useless in any emergency. Have you heard of this issue earlier and is there any solution. Thanks.

hi,
If u have tapped accuratly over the + mark the issues will be solved usually.but sometimes it may repeat 2_3 times,I too experienced it,and even after accurate tapping if it happenes repeatedly ,(if the device is old )than the touch sensation of screen might be the reason.
New Rom
Congrats. A welcome development.
fast loading - smooth operation. Quite professional.
Comm manager switches not working as mentioned by HipHopBlond. This problem solved by installing HTC CommManager 2.9.F.1.WAlien.cab. Now the switches work. I am on 29021 build - stable. Of course, as discussed everywhere, fast battery drain. Overall - Good.
Thanks for breaking the jinx of no rom developments for a long time.

I tried the ELF model, when starting windows I had a problem with wifi involved. Nice work but since I have a rom ELF model with a little frame and Roma. It would be nice if they made a light version for ELF users
gud work dude

Hi,
My second response. I started with 29021 and subsequently the other 2 versions and I am back in 29021. Like I said earlier, comm Manager, seems to be the only hassle so far in my testing.Last time I had suggested the comm Manager whitealien which you rightly pointed out that BT was not functioning. Now I am using comm manager-op_2.7.2.8 and all including BT are working. One more thing, Youtube (I use dsixda_HTCYoutube) loads but video cannot be played. Any suggestions- I tried both on Edge and wifi. In all other roms I have used this far, youtube was functional.
Nevertheless, your rom is quite professsional for a first try. Keep it up, friend and roll out more developments. I am a ELFIN fanatic and no matter how many other mobiles I may own, ELfin continues to be my personal favourite. Thanks for effort in keeping this forum alive and kicking.
