TF does not work on wifi channels 12-14

Here in Euroland there is a major issue. The TF does not find wifi access points using channels 12-14. That's a big problem if you ask me.

My german TF works like a charm on channel 13.
PS: I use a hidden SSID and static IPs so I manually configured it.

I have the same problem with transformer in UK (UK version bough in local Comet store). This is not great. Maybe this could be tweaked after rooting?

I have the same problem with mine bought in Portugal , it's a B60k model. Hope someone can change this.

Maybe you can yourself?
Let's think about it ... if mine works and others don't, I guess it has something to do with the security settings or with the rooter brand maybe?
For comparison ... I use WPA, static IPs and MAC filter, so the WiFi is configured manually. Oh wait ... when I configured the TF I used channel 11 and later switched the rooter to 13.
Maybe this info helps for further investigation of the cause.

US Transformer?
I don't know if you have US transformer or not but we are only allowed to use channels 1-11.

3.1 WW firmware has locked to 1-11 channels only due unknown (hw?) reasons, which are obviously inconsistent to EU/JP wireless regulations rules.

3.1 is the Android version, not the firmware, which is V8.4.4.5 for DE ... the WW version has the same verson number, but has a different download on the Asus site.
So it seems, that it's dependent on the firmware?

in North America, use of Channel 12-14 is not allowed by regulations... should be ok in EU though..

Yes and no ... my router has channels 1-13, which seems to follow the EU regulation ... Wiki says, that channel 14 is forbidden in most countries around the world.
In my opinion Asus made a mistake in the WW firmware, which should be identical to the DE firmware regarding WiFi and not the US version ... or did I miss something?
I think, all affected customers outside the US should ask Asus for a firmware fix ... just to wake them up
PS: Besides US and Japan also Israel seems to have a different WiFi regulation ... channels 1-4 are only allowed indoors in Israel regarding Wiki.

Can anyone else in the uk confirm this? I use prime 1.5 could this be the issue?

Yes, there's broadcom wireless card inside, driver's country code should be configurable via nvram/config file. unfortunatelly have no time to deal with it yet.
please, provide your /etc/nvram.txt content.
mine settings are
Code:
ccode=ALL
cctl=0
I guess, someone could try to change ccode to DE or AU to see what may change.

Is it based on the original US firmware?
My german TF is unmodified so far.

Mine is all cctl 0x0. Can the DE please post theirs. Thx. Btw nvram_a.txt also has that setting. Would that need to be Changed to 1x0 too?

names may stand for a - 5Ghz band (for other/future models?)

it's something hardware specific for 2.4Ghz band input, not brodcast

looks like a bug in WW firmware....or it's intended because WW firmware may be used in some countries where channel 12-14 is prohibited...

System Update 5/29/13 - Build Number 10.6.1.14.8-20130514

Downloaded and installed system update this morning. Not sure what changed. Did not loose root.

I had a problem with wallpapers, where it would suddenly change back to the ASUS Dayscene. Or I could not set a custom wallpaper image.
That seems to be fixed.
I'm now trying to setup a second user, that did also not work till now. Only resulted in the system to be slow and instable.
Hope they fixed that too.
EDIT: Unfortunately both unfixed

URGENT
Could someone post the dlpkgfile ota file saved in cache before someone updates and upload it and post it?
basically, once the OTA update comes up and finishes downloading before you install it can you grab the dlpkgfile and then take it and upload it or just copy it to microsd anything before you install please?

I doubt this update adds much. The number version is so small from the previous it would be good to inspect the update. Anyway as just said if anyone can post a WW dlpkgfile that would be great as I can have a play.

Camera has been part of the gallery for the last 3 updates mate. Go to gallery to access it.

Here's a US dlpkgfile. There are patches to a LOT of files, but I haven't decoded the blob so I don't know what else is there. It takes a long time to apply this update, considering its size.

Hopefully, it's got some significant patches. Either way 'usually' an update is for the good.

Thanks for the file.
The blob contains the usual images for bootloader, recovery and kernel.
The bootloader is bitwise identical to 10.6.1.14.4 except version number and build date.
Now I hope for someone to upload the WW version, which is the one I can actually use.

lol! There's mods to a whole bunch of Android apps and native libs. Looks like there is new camera firmware as well. I imagine it's mostly bug and stability fixes like the update notice window says.

That's the digital signature that is checked by the previous bootloader to prevent installation of a non-Asus bootloader.

Apparently some of it fixed the black bars when using MicroHDMI out which would be nice

Unzip to microsd
Flash the extracted zip in TWRP
Done.
