Need Help with an Upgrade! Please

First let me say I am sorry for the multiple posts. This same message is on the general Magician forum. I think I shoul dhave placed the message here.

I bought my Magician on eBay and it is the best phone I have ever had. The phone is amazing. But of course 2 months have passed and I am dying to improve the phone. The Brand is a DOPOD 818, which is the HTC Magician or iMate JAM.
I see everyone here has the ROM 1.06, mine is 1.01.00WWE with a ROM Date of 10/21/04/ I am sure I should be upgrading my ROM for the enhancements but I am not sure how or where to go.
Everyone says to go to Club iMate but unfortunately my IMEI is registered through DOPOD and not iMate. The DOPOD site does not look like it has an updated ROM.
Can I use a generic ROM? Where can I get one? I am in the USA using T-Mobile, if that helps.
Please let me know what I should do.

you will need to do a lot of readings before upgrading... and if your device doesn't have any problems then don't upgrade... the latest version from imate is really bad.. i have tried it and went back the old one which 1.03.00 ... anyways go to this ftp ftp://xda:[email protected]/Magician/
and you will all the latest ROMs....

So you have tried upgrading to a German language ROM and then it gave you the CID error?

Have you tried to upgrade with the official software-update-file provided by T-Mobile or one out of the "Shipped_ROMS"-folder from this sites ftp by first putting the device into bootloader-mode and then starting the wizard? For me this worked where I had such errors while trying to flash my O2 mini to T-Mobile MDA (for ROM 1.13, both German) with Windows loaded.

T-Mobile Germany has a MDA (I used it for my MDA II with Windows Mobile 2003) ROM upgrade here:

I don't know if this will work for any newer MDAs since it was specifically released for the MDA II.

Use only magician roms for the pm10a & no prophet roms :!: & vice-versa of course.
When the mentioned rom is for the magician with WM2003SE & 128MB & the intel cpu, you can try at own risk. If it's for the ti omap cpu you're asking for troubles.

I-mate SP5 rom on CING 2125

Is this possible? I'm considering purchasing the 2125 for my Father whos visitng for the summer from overseas and he has the i-mate SP3. He agreed only if he could have the I-Mate rom on it. So can i put the I-mate rom on the cing 2125? I noticed the hardware buttons are different, how will this effect its operation?

Yes, you can do this.
But you will get some trouble.
WiFi will not work at all. (becouse this model does not support it)
I will install the latest CING 2125 ROM to my O2 Xda phone. I am very happy. Becouse now i have 20 Mb of available storage.

What AKU does the new 2125 ROM have? How does it compare with the SP5m and Qtek 8300 ROMs?

latest cing rom (2.0.13.0) is aku 2.2... compared to aku 2.0 from imate and qtek

i understand wifi won't work but specifically what trouble will i have?

Has anyone tried the Cingular ROM on a Tornado device? Does wifi work? Does A2DP work?

Can anyone upload/give link to latest Polish ERA Rom Please?

Hi,
I am giving my MDA Compact to my cousin and would like to swap the language into Polish for him, can anyone help me do this, or provide a Rom link to a ERA rom.
I did a search and a guy posted the Extended_Rom, but I cannot find that or any others on the FTP.
They do sell the MDA compact under the ERA brand name in Poland, presumably all the menus and interface should be in Polish.

Well, AFAIK k-jam and xda miniS are all versions of the Wizard. If you can upgrade your miniS, so you can k-jam too.
