Video calling in WM6? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro ROM Development

Video calling finally,
Hi guys, we have video calling available where I live now…finally… and news about the possibility of having it with the new WM6, please say yes…

yesssss,
Cheers, Leo

@Laurentius26
What does it mean?..That your link down?..that you make it to incorporate video call function? Your Vanilla here still works perfect and very stabile.Instead of Resco I hope there will be video call to test.
The best ROM for now (very verry similar to Grayme..)

Possibility? Yes. But it's still going to take some time. No one is still able to figure out how to make Video call work on WM6 for the Universal. For now, we're stuck on WM5. But Patience is a virtue.

people are working on it.
p.s changed the title to avoid confusion, i though someone had cracked it

@tin2404
Hi,
It doesn't mean anything, I taught that Video call was solved.

what do you mean you are stuck on WM5?

Is'nt it strange when the world is moving towards 3G video calling UMTS we all have converted our hands sets to 2G by upgrading to wm6 and loosing out to video calling.
The wait is getting desperate we need the video calling fast for the 3G network and for the crossbow wm6 version specially the UNiversal.

Hi all,
Oh the Saga continues............!
Currently only WM5 Roms for the Universal have full Video Call functionality.
Laurentius and I have been working on WM6 Video Call for some time now, we have managed to get outgoing video call working (although still a bit buggy) but will hopefully crack it some time soon.
If you do require Video Call functionality, then I advise that your revert back to WM5 for now.
Cheers,
Beasty

VoIP

Hey all
It's my first post... and i hope i post in the right sub-forum...
i've recieved my xda orbit 2 and im really happy with this phone !
But i need VoIP, and i can't install / activate it. How do i make that? i've searched the forums and i installed following:
SetupVoIP_v0.3.CAB 94.2 KB
witch i found posted by mahmood here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355277
Installation was fine, but everytime i start it i get a error... i've tried a softreset, deinstallation, reinstallation, new downloaded and reinstalled but everytime the same error... can anyone help me?
oh... have completly another question: what is GPS Foto? What does it exactly make?
GPS Photo is a picture with embedded GPS coordinates, so you can see in progs like Google Earth where the picture was taken. Pretty cool feature
About VOIP: Forget the Windows native VOIP and get Fring. It's free and offers everything you will ever need. Just Google for it

Fring is working well in my touch cruise, but I get the audio coming from the back of the phone , as when I use the handsfree feature. Do you know if is there some way to redirect the audio?

unfortunately i can't use fring. i have to use the internal voip because i have to connect to an internal uc-server... isn't there a possibility to activate the standard voip on the tc (orbit 2)?
VOIP in France
I've bought a HTC Cruise to use it on VOIP with the WIFI but I try a lot of software and the result is poor.
I 've a neufbox with neuf talk ability and I prefer WM6 VOIP because it's not necessary to use another keyboard and contact list to phone.
First one I remove the SFR rom and use these rom : "Polaris_WWE_0.54_Full_bepe.rar" in english plus "WM6VoiP.CAB" and "SetupVoiP_v0.3.CAB" result phone connection , numerotation I listen but the other part listen nothing .
If I try to use fring the two part are listening but with a poor sound quality and a 30 seconds maximum duration !!!
I 've try neuf talk mobile : nothing to listen.
I want to know if somebody can used the VOIP in France ?
thanks
I prefer WM6 VoIP as well, Fring was not working at all with my provider sipgate. I could only receive calls from a landline within the first 10 minutes. After that I had to restart Fring to receive calls again. When I phoned people outside the UK Fring disconnected me after 32 seconds. The only disadvantage with WM6 VoIP is that the sound is a bit quiet but I can hear people well using the USB headset.
I got the VoIP running by installing the WM6VoiP.CAB first. Then done a soft reset and installed Sip Config Tool 2.0.1 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303493.

I use Skype from time to time.
It works pretty fine for me and for my interlocutor.
Of course, it's more expensive than the others VOIP providers but results are OK.
@+
I use SIPgate which works well on the TC, using the standard VOIP cabs I found on this forum.
I am using the native WM6VoiP.CAB together with SetupVoiP_v0.3.CAB on the original WWE Rom and having VOIPStunt as a SIP provider.
It seems to work, however the sound quality is rather poor compared to when I use VoipStunt from my laptop, "internet calling" is in searching stat all the time, but still I can use VOIP normally, that is probably a windows bug.
Also when the Wi-Fi is used and the phone turns off its monitor after 1 minute, I lose the connection. Any suggestions how to help it.

does it also use the built in contacts, and where does the sound comes from? I mean from the rear speaker or from the normal output?

This topic SOLVED VoiP problem on my Orbit 2
I use 3g VideoCall from Telme,works fine !
I use 3g VideoCall from Telme,it works fine except for the video right now (they say they will release a new version in march or april).
You can download it (from the download section) and use it for free (or with an account just like skype)after registering for free as a Free Member from here : http://web2.telme.sg/cedel/index.php?option=mod_joinus
With "Route 60" activated (as a distributor) u can even call for free to 60 countries on fixed phones (from which 6 countries on fixed AND MOBILES for free)
I call then free from mi 3gphone to fixed phones, to 3gphones and also even to computers having the correspondent software from Telme installed (Deskcall NG)

Video Calling / Dialer Skin Priority?

I am using Alex.v5.WM61.HTC.302.Home.ROM.beta2 with vodaphone UK radio on Orange UK network.
I just cannot get video calling to work. I can get the option to do it but the phone just does a normal call. Both my phone and the receiving phone are in a 3G area.
I have tried the Nadavi skin and about 5 others.
Is it something in this ROM that stops video calling working? Is there a registry hack to enable it?
I have tried advanced config 1.1 and 2.0 to set and unset video dialling enable and phone skins etc.
It seems that the dialler skin cooked into the Alex ROM takes priority over any others I install. Can it be uninstalled? disabled?
Is there a way to change priority order of the installed Dialers?
Thank you.

I have, but no joy.
I am now trying Dutty ROM, it has a working video dialler but I can't seem to re-skin it. Again it seems that a cooked in dialer has priority.

it was possible with my tytn 2 that had no front camera
i used to use the back 3mp cam
i had an att tilt
hope some one makes it
I'll need to make Video calls to access my IP surveillance camera!! It wiil be great if HD2 has a software that can cater for that!! Now I just have to use my old Sony Ericson 3G phone to make surveillance video calls!! ....Bummer!!

i place a videocall to my hd2 with an 6500s..i answer on the hd2 and on the nokia it`s asking me if i want to send video, i choose yes and it`s disconnecting and nothing appears on the hd2 screen
with stock dialer when you are trying to make videocall to hd2 it`s says that the device doesn`t support this option or something like that
bummer... this is a big downfall
Is there a hard waee responseble for video call or all 3g devices should support videocalls
has any one tested the touch pro2 dialer
Possible that novelties don't be had on the video called? it is the only thing that this telephone misses
p.s. You excuse for my English
:BUMP:
anyone? come on smart guys, programmers, developers. give hd2 ability to video call..
I am looking forward for the development...
Is suprise that HD does have Video Call, but not HD2...
i also want it

Voip ?

Hi all !
I want to use a voip application in my touch2, however, it's seams this functionallity was banned by htc.
does anyone achieved to install and work with it?
I tried to follow a tutorial, but it disconnect my gps radio ...
Try nimbuzz, it supports sip too.
Yes,
It may supports, but I don't achieve to get it working on my touch2.
Is there any other alternative?
I take PortSIP, this app works well.
Look for the portsipcabwm6.cab. This one is perfect for our Touch2.
You can use with all standard SIP-Provider. I use SPARVOIP, they are very cheap (for short calls free of charge) in germany and some other countries.
There is also a checkbox and then die Main-Speaker is disabled.
So you get no "speaker-problem", that´s absolute great.
Only the contact-Button causes a problem.
It looks like a softwar shutdown, but after you quit the message it works.
I confirm PortSIP good working program. Sound is output on the headset, but not speaker.
try skype 2
I tryed skype and works well.
portsip help please.
hello everyone, this is my first time i write in a forum and i hope i am doing so in the right place. Moderator please move post if needed.
First of all hi to everyone and thank you for sharing your knowledge with me too, without knowing in the past few months you all have been very helpful to me.
I have now a little problem with portsip that is driving me insane.
I have a HTC touch 2 (t3333 / mega) and i had installed portsip for voipstunt using wifi, Everything was working fine until 2 days ago. I was able to make calls to landlines as well as to other voipstunt users.
2 days ago everything went wrong, after a full day of trying, i found out that i can now make calls to landline only for it to work fine.
When i try to call an other voipstunt user it rings normally, from the otherside they can pick the phonecall up, but my mic would be mute so they cant hear me.
i tried everything, unistall and reinstall portsip and even hard reset the htc, nothing worked, it is like portsip doesnt see the htc microfone anymore, but only when calling an othe sip user, when calling a landline everything is fine.
could somebody help me please, i feel like giving up, and also it is very frustrating as everything was working perfectly, and i was very happy with it,now i feel like getting rid of it.
thank you in advance for your help.

I agree
nimbuz works with no problem on Touch 2 with sip feature< been making loads of calls via nimbuzz, alternativley there is a cab somehere native wm6.5 voip cab which works ok with schaps sipconfig tool but I dont recommend the wm6.5 cab as requires faffing around with dlls etc etc to get the codecs work on may sip providers etc etc. Nimbuz is very simple and works great if not you can always try fring I believe it has sip feature

I use it with SJPhone, sjlabs.com/sjp.html and chose
SJphone CE .cab for Pocket PC 2003 v.1.60.303c, 10.26.05
Works fine and allows many other profiles and you can change between operators quickly.

What about fring?
Does it work on wm 6.5?
Sorry to insist, but anyone knows if fring works on our device?
