do NOT upgrade to spl 3.08 - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 Software Upgrading

You don't need to and it is the cause of most of the recent spate of problems people have been having. Expecially those who have flashed a G3 with the G4 spl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i agree with you... this slp really s*cks!! :S
i have a lot of problems, i cant upgrate to an official rom aku2.2!! =/

Have you looked at this thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=300356
The most likely reason you cant go back to an official rom is that official rom includes a lower spl/ipl version. this thread explains how to get them out of the original rom. I havent tried it with 3.08 though!!!
let me know if it works.

unlock the CID y friend and you will go back to the original ROM anytime

my CID is unlocked but many others aren't (particularly G4 as the only way to unlock it on G4 is to pay)

Actually that is interesting. If you are CID unlocked G4 can you downgrade SPL/IPL? Have you tried it?

How about some info? Are you cid unlocked? Do you have a G3 or G4 model?
helpful information = helpful information
Mostly due to a locked G3.
If this is the case, flash the phone with 1.05 ROM (Find it in pinned G3 unlock thread), then unlock with lokwiz02 and flash with your desired ROM
mine is g3
bro mine one is g3.my cid is unlocked.if my cid wasn't unlocked i couldn't have run wm6 on my device rite?i can install any wm6,but my question is why its stuck for couple of min at 14%.all the rom.then it flashed toi 100% hopefully.no problem with that tho.

WM 6 to WM5

Hi All!
This might have been asked a zillion times, but i couldn't find a very to the point asnwer to the question that if one installs the cooked ROMS available here on JASJAR/Universal, will at any point of time, one be able to downgrade or revert back to WM5 using the imate ROM available on club imate?
I tried searching the wiki but nothing substantial is there on this issue in relation to JASJAR/Universal.
If yes, then how and is there any special procedure to follow?
Kindly reply any one of you as I am thinking of upgrading the ROM on my JASJAR.

YES.
Preocedure is same: as you doing upgrade, you do downgrade.
Nothing special. Just run the WM5 Update Tool
Thank you both for the replies.
I would like to ask, are there any known issues while doing this?

Before you upgrade to WM6 make sure you have eatleast bootloader V1.0.
Going back to WM5 is no issue as long you follow the right flashing procedure and don't interrupt anything during flashing.

Did you super cid? I believe doing so would keep carrier updates from being sent to your device.
ok, thanks pal
maybe you know, where can i find newest official htc rom?
i'll try supercid and htc rom after that

Sorry... I think you misunderstood me. I was asking if you were already super cid'ed. Because if you were, that would explain why you were not receiving system updates from your carrier.
Setting your CID to super CID will not help you in this matter.
Ok, now undersdand.
I'm not sure did i replace cid or not.
How to check my current cid?
And finally how to rollback original cid. I'm in o2 uk

Here is how I know to check the CID on your device (and a lot of other details):
Code:
adb shell cat /proc/cmdline
That should result in a lot of text on your terminal. You want to find the value that follows: "androidboot.cid="
If you are super CID, it will be a bunch of ones (like 1111111) and nothing else.
I'll get back to you on the thread for a list of valid CIDs.
Thanks a lot.

Here is the thread that provides the most help for what you're trying to accomplish (at least from what I assume).
In it there is a mention of another thread where CIDs are being collected.
hth...
i can confirm that i had cid 1111111 in my phone.
i changed it first time for valid o2 cid but still not got any updates, then replaced for htc cid but still any updates got.
btw i'm sure, htc has released 2.3.4 for my device, and i'm stuck by 2.3.3
ok, last question
where can i find not branded, latest original htc rom?

I think this is the best there is for finding stock ROMs.
There is a FileFactory link in the 1st post (or right here) for a grip of RUU files. Those will contain the original distributions from the various carriers.
I wish I was able to point you to the correct one, but I really have no idea.
Happy New Year!

[Q] S-Off vs Unlock Bootloader

Hi all
Anyone know if we need the bootloader unlocked if we already have S-Off? I have flashed a few ROMs already and was wondering if I would need to go unlock my bootloader to gain more customization options. Can we change kernels and overclock with a locked bootloader?

Hi,
You don't need to unlock bootloader via HTCDEV if you already S-OFF.
If you are S Off, just flash firmware from the user friendly firmware thread.
You'll have an ENG Hboot that says Revolutionary instead of Locked.
So, I rooted and gained s-off but haven't unlocked my bootloader through the HTC site. It sounds like I don't need to do this and can do everything I could on my rooted device right?
correct me if im wrong and 10x 4 ur helps

Yes, an ENG Hboot is better than an Unlocked Hboot.
You can do all & more than a Unlocked Hboot can with an ENG Hboot.

[Q] download RUU not from FileFactory?

Is there another place where
RUU_Pyramid_O2_UK_1.50.206.1_R_Radio_10.58.9035.00U
can be downloaded?
Tried over and over again on Filefactory but it just didn't start downloading.

Well,my screen went totally frozen.I can see the screen,I can see if someone is calling(there is no sound also) just couldn't move the ring to unlock.Total unresponsive, the suggestion was a re RUU would solve the problem.
I had the phone for 13months now, never missed a bit and didn't even think about rooting it.I came here when the problem happened and after reading almost every post on this forum I shall have to reconsider.
But first..to make it work again.

Hi,
Oh dear.
Try unlocking it again.
Best thing then,is to try and run one of the European RUU ,with the same firmware (3.32 )
Maybe that will work...
