Extracting theme from SPB Mobile Shell - General Topics

Hi!
I wish I could get one of the SPB Mobile Shell's color theme stand alone : in fact I'm using SPB Mobile Shell only because of the dark grey/black color theme available under the "Theme" tab.
How should I do?
Thank you!

normal today themes are called tsk files and very very limited in functionality compated to special program themes
they are alot more then a collection of normal themes they offer new gui features and look and feel
they are required to be installed to run the themes made for them
if all you need is just a grey black theme without fancy stuff there are TONS! of tsk themes with those colouring heck you can even make one yourself
http://www.pocketpcthemes.com/popular.aspx

I had already discovered by myself that themes were named with the "tsk" extension. I searched such files on my device but none were found.
Thanks for the link, I'm having a look, but the SPB theme perfectly suits my needs. Is there a way to export/dump it?

tsk themes only support
colours and bars and menus and text
and a background image
it dont support fancy skinning and big clocks and such that fancy eye candy theme programs support
and so programs like SPB theme dont use tsk themes they have their own format
doubt you can export it as tsk themes only supprt the before mentioned

You are not giving us enough information.
Anyway, my psychic power tell me what you wanted to background. Do a bit of research, and you will find that the background is saved as t-something-something.png/bmp/jpg in the \Windows directory upon used. Get that and make your own theme.

The theme I'm talking about is only made of colours and background. A simple .tsk like theme I'm nearly sure. I'm at work right now, I'll try to make a screenshot of my today screen later.

Here's the screenshot :
Here is what I would like to have without SPB Mobile Shell installed !

why not just use spb shell.

Isn't it using RAM ? At least it uses ROM on my phone for many purposes I don't use.

Thank you for the link! I found SPB Black 47 which is different from the SPB Mobile Shell theme only through the wallpaper. I'll try to fix that myself. Do you know how to extract the wallpaper ?
Thank you.

SPB wallpapers are two files named
stwater_240_320.png
stwater_320_240.png
located in the windows folder. It changes when you change the theme colour..

Manila 2.5 Clocks

Had a little extra time on my hands and decided to make a couple of clocks for manila 2.5. First of all thanx to the creator of CFC GUI .60.35 - THE Manila/TF3D Image Editor and NRGZ28 for his carbon clock. I went ahead and made two variations of the carbon clock, a black carbon and blue carbon.
Here they are....
11/23/09 - Graffiti Clock
Really nice, but for what manila version are those clocks?
Since you see the shortcuts on the home page I guess it's the 2.5 brand.
That's looking real good!
I see that's winmo 6.5.1 that you are running, but what about the rest of the UI? that's a theme? It seems that the fonts and shortcuts down there are different.
What did you use to that effect?
Thanks!
Thanks! iam using the jw black theme for windows. the task bar i found while searching through the forums. And the shortcuts are from the manila 2.5. I just went ahead and edited the slider, icons, and clock. Still got some work to do before I completely customized my device!
[edit] nevermind! a search on jw black theme gave me a good result but! the wallpaper is real nice, any chance you could give more info on it? Thanks!
Looks real good, especially the 3rd one.
I am using the clock, but would like to get all the rest (at least the wallpaper and font).
Any chance you can be more specific about files names or maybe you could share what you created? That would be really great
THANKs .
not a problem, iam using the kabel system font, found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532633
and ive attached the wallpaper iam using.
as for the slider ill post that one as soon as iam done editing it. iam compiling icons that coincide with windows mobile (i.e. opera for the internet tab, zune for the music player, outlook express for email tab and so forth) it should be done soon, just editing the taskbar and softkey skins to match the slider.
Thank you for all the info
And for your hard work!
Cheers
any chance in making the "AM~PM" on the clock white also?
yeah new clock for my sense 2.5
Thanks a lot have been looking for a new clock for my sense 2.5 long time and yeah yours works.
Nice look these clocks!
here are the manila files for a white am and pm on the clock. just unzip and copy to windows directory.
any tutorial
Hi bruc410,
could you provide me a short tutorial how to make a clock skin for Manila 2.5?
or is there any tutorial in this forum?
Thanks!
You need photoshop, a manila editor (preferably cfc-gui-only-0.60.35), and finally the original manila 2.5 file, found here http://code.google.com/p/manilavga/...ManilaOriginalWVGA-2_5_19211619_0.7z&can=2&q=. All you have to do is unzip the manila files and then open up manila editor and select the core folder from your manila 2.5 file. From there just save the original clock files to your computer as a png then edit them to your liking and replace them with the manila editor. Finally copy the edited manila files to your windows directory. Thats about it. Sorry if my directions are a little thrown together but i pretty much figured this out on my own. The good thing is once you get the hang of it you can customize the entire manila 2.5. Hope this answers your question.

Yeah, thanks, meanwhile I have made some search, and found the same tuts
cabbage
my only question is how do you made the cab file?
I use a program called quick cab. real easy and straight forward

program to create your own themes?

hello,
is there any program that can create your own themes for hd2?
search for hdwall, but this gives you theme only for sense not the clasic windows theme.
HDWall is great, but I'd rather make my own theme only replacing the background images, and the best you can do is gathering 800x480 images wherever you want.............

Backgrounds in SPB 3.5

Hi all,
the last two months i am stuck to some default backgrounds that sbp has. i have tried ms3 with no success.
where can i find more backgrounds ? how can i customize my own.
if it is already been discussed plz send me a link.
thanks
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=604146
read through that thread and install.. its fairly simple using that and it gives you that many more options for icons, widgets, boxes etc.
But using that you can change the background for each and every individual page of SPB so check it out.
Moved as not theme release.
The " king " of MS 3,5 themes resides right here mskip. If Mark can't make your Mobile Shell dazzle then you have no taste

[REQ] Buuf theme for Sense UI

I've checked out the Buuf theme for iPhone lately and I find it very catchy. I'm sorry because I'm not an iPhone fan and I've only come to know of such theme lately. Can anyone here try to make a complete skin out of Buuf icons and buttons? As if overhauling the Sense UI and replacing all the buttons (ie Sense audio buttons, video buttons, camera etc), sliders (main slider, audio slider, messaging slider etc), clock even miscellaneous tabs (ie settings and everthing within). So... what do you think? *sorry... for being kinda nervous. This is my first request post in Themes and Apps for HD2*
I haven´t seen the Buuf theme for WinMo, but for Android...
However, did you check this great theme here? Not that it is the same, but it somehow seems to have that kind of "design"...

Yeah... I've checked it out. I love these cartoon-ish themes like Buuf and Fallout by StarView. I wish there are more like Super Mario, Zelda and stuff like that. Can anyone tell me which software you need to create a theme for Sense UI? Because I really want to learn to create a theme and pack it into a CAB and share it with everyone.

You can actually make your theme with any graphics software which can save in png format (mainly because of the transparency capability).
Once you´ve done your creative work, you can convert your pictures with m9editor, or CFC GUI, and then use cab maker software to create the installer (there are some free apps).
To make things easier for a start, to learn about manila file namings, resolutions etc., I suggest you take any cab of any theme you like, unpack it (with a program like MSCEInf - CAB Analyzer) and see through all the files with CFC GUI - with all this data, you can jump quickly into theme making.
PPC Geeks have the icons
Popdog54 posted all of Paul Davey's art on PPC Geeks (see link).
All of icons are there. I downloaded them and put them on my HTC HD2 storage card and then used an icon changer to change most of the icons.
forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=77485
the Buuf theme is indeed very catchy and would look really good on HD2.
ajt320 has already posted the link to the icons.
I also found Buuf-esque slider icons, made by 12aon. Check the post 5.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437405
The slider icons were made for TF3D, so they should be modified to use in Sense 2.5
and there is also Way Out There Transparent Slider here http://ppcmods.com/sliders.html
the style is quite similar to Buuf's
Cheers

Looking for wallpaper of programs page in ArtemisROM V50

Hi!
I'm using CHT 2.0 an I'm now looking for the wallpaper of the programs page (pressing windows button) in Artemis-ROM V50. I would like to use the blue gradient wallpaper on all sides of the HTC Sense UI. Unfortunately I think these graphics are not part of the ArtemisGreenBlack theme because they are not in the cab file.
Can someone tell me where I can find the graphics for wallpaper, taskbar and softkeybar as see on the program page in the named theme?
With many thanks.
NM
if it can help .. there should be a CHT option to set the same background in all tabs (otherwise you could use "back ground for all" cab attached), and serarch in these sites a wallpaper of your taste
stock bacgrounds are stored in \my documents\wallpapers (if I rember the WWE folder name..)

Hola, since your using CHT and Artemis, there shouldn´t be any problem...
Besides what jjollyroger already wrote, maybe I don´t understand your question, but if you are refering to the "turqoise" WP, it´s in the ROM, Windows directory and it´s one of the called "stwater" image files (Default_stwater_480_800.gif & Default_stwater_800_480.gif)
Regarding taskbar and softkeybar, this will depend on the theme you´re using.
If you are using Artemis Greeen Black, then the files are the following:
Taskbar: "art_gb_Taskbar.png", "HTCBlack_taskbar.png"
Softkey: "art_gb_SKBackground.png", "art_gb_SKButton.png", "art_gb_SKButtonDisabled.png", "art_gb_SKButtonSelected.png" and also one "xyz_softkeybar.png" depending on the last theme used (probably "classicblue_softkeybar.png").
For both you can also check in the registry to see which files are beeing used:
1. HKCU\software\Microsoft\Today\TaskBar\TaskBarThemeImage
2. HKCU\software\Microsoft\Today\Softkeybar\SoftkeyBarThemeImage
