Hi, can you tell me if my HTC Wizard is G3 or G4, this is what shows up at startup:
ipl 2.21
spl 2.2.1
gsm 02.19.11
os 2.21.2.6

"0. First determine if you got a G3 or a G4 device. When you turn on your device from can can see you're IPL and SPL version on the screen. If you got IPL/SPL 1.xx or 2.xx you've got a G3 device. If the IPL/SPL shows 2.xx.xxx1 you've got a G4."
As you see, my device seems to have G3 IPL but G4 SPL so I'm not sure whether it's G3 or G4 then?

Never heard of a SPL 2.2.1, it isn't G3 or G4 like described everywhere. Anyone seen this before?

If my SPL ends with .0000 I have a G4?
no it's a g3 model you have
Faq says:
If you look at the IPL and SPL numbers, you'll see they end in .000 in this case your phone in a G3 model.
So, in short:
IPL/SPL: ending in .000 = G3 model
IPL/SPL: ending in .0001 = G4 model

You don't give the all important .000 (G3) or .0001 (G4)!
If your phone is a G3 it tells you in the wiki how to do it!

If it's a G4 the only way at the moment is to pay! I used this site

Hi all, I have a G4, I were looking for several hours everywhere an official IPL 2.20.0001 update for my G4 and I couldn't find it.. I had tried the one the the wiki but doesn't work....

I was recently upgrading my s200 g3 to w6 and I wanted also to upgrade IPL/SPL and Radio roms. On the forum I found for IPL and radio but nothing for SPL : did I missed something ? I am today with SPL 2.09 and I would like to get the last one with is I think 2.20

i was just gonna make a thread about this.. i've just upgraded my IPL to 2.20 but i can't find the SPL
the only place i can find the SPL 2.20 ROM is with jester-r1 rom..
can anyone provide the upgrade for just the SPL ?
Could anybody say where to find SPL 2.20 ?

do it on your own risk and g4 for g4 and g3 for g3
not my fault if you brick your device and you can brick your device very easy if you play with the spl...hf

yes ... you can cid unlock via www.imei-check.co.uk and they give you a special unlocker ... they write a 2.13 SPL ... this is in the moment the ONLY WAY!!!

I have two QTek S200, one G3 and one G4, both currently work fine. Both are provider unlocked with Spanish ROM. - It's a long story.
I want to upgrade one to WM6 with English ROM and was wondering which phone is likely to be less trouble. G3 or G4?
Also whilst I'm posting are the any views on which ROM is most stable?

g3 is easy to cid unlock!
you can both easy update ... you only must know what updater you need ... g3 or g4 thats it!
