Missing alarm notification is it WM6 problem? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

I had my Qtek 9100 for more then a year now and was running WM5 for better part of that. I never had a missed alarm. I upgraded to several version of WM6 (latest is Faria's one) and each of those had an issue that alarm will not go off at designated time.
Is it my phone? SPL/IPL? Radio? OS? or what can be causing that?

I had the same issue. Between that and missing numerous amounts of phone calls, text messages, and voice mail notifications I went back to WM5. Hope you get it resolved.

Another issue I'm having is that sometimes after receiving phone call I still get blinking "orange" light like I missed a call.

When you got back to WM5 did you downgrade Radio and SPL or just changed OS back and everything started working again?

Same here
Same problem here,
I've updated to Faria's latest kitchen rom and since 2 days, I'm late to work! The alarm doesn't go off!
I'm using SPB Time. Will now try ptravelalarm.
Emre

I went back to WM5 and can not be happier. All this WM6 crazyness is not worth severe glitches all over the place for me.

When I went back to WM5 I just reloaded my carrier rom. I haven't even tweaked it since I last reloaded it.

I am waiting on a WWE AKU 3.3 release. Hopefully HTC will release one for cingular like they just updated the 8525 Rom.

Lost SMS. WM6 issue? ..any idea?

first of all: sorry for my poor english!
unfortunately I keep on losing some SMSs.
I have changed different ROM (from the NBD 4... up to the 8.2 that currently I have in use, XDA6 in all the releases...) but the problem persists.
sometimes... not frequently (unfortunately always from a person for me very important) I lose the SMSs: the telephone "revives", illuminates the display green and red buttons... but nothing.... SMS=0
(I have called the person that I imagined had written me and has confirmed me)
I have tried the whole radios: 2.69 (good audio...), 2.61...very fast but bad receipt, 2.47 (I thought the best), 2.37 (original of mine k-jam Italian), 2.25 of T-mob and finally the 2.19.. from all declared the best... but with a bad audio according to me.
Any idea?
with a downgrade to WM5 the problems seem to disappear....
Please, help.... i love WM6....
i think its not bcuz of wm6 !
you RESET your phone without any reason ! if you RESET your phone , all incoming data will be lost !
so try shutting down your phone by pressing and holding the power botton and this problem probably will be gone
Tau,
This is a confirmed problem with WM6, if you search around you'll find the T-Mobile Radio ROM and CIngular Radio ROM threads where people outline some of the issues they've been having and the fixes they've tried and gotten to either work or fail. I'd just reccomend either switching back to AKU 3.3 or just keep trying different radios.
That's a radio issue, the only ones that seem to work consistently is Farias version of 2.69 or 2.19. The non faria version of 2.69 still seems to have that problem, at least for me it did.
thanks...i'll try faria's one

No problem. The easiest way to figure out if a radio is going to work for you is to hook your phone up to activesync and then call yourself or text yourself while it's connected. If the the send and end lights come on but you don't recieve the call or sms it's time to flash a different radio rom. Call yourself or text yourself a few times to make sure because you may just get lucky and it recieves the call or sms the first time or 2.

Sound disappearing in WM6.1?

I've got an issue with sound disappearing in WM6.1. I'm running 3.03.405WWE (HTC one) and Radio 1.64.08.21 and after an amount of time (usually a couple of hours) the sound stops working, vibrate still functions but no audio alerts work.
Anyone got any thoughts?
Cheers
are you install SRS WOWhd??That happened to me too after i installed that application...but after i uninstalled that application, the sound is back
I thought SRS WOWhd crash on WM 6.1
that is what i think....anyone get this problem too....?
cheers
Nope, not installed... just plain vanilla HTC one...
Same thing
Same thing happenned with me with also windows 6
do you use wm 6 radio version or wm 6.1 radio version??
wm 6 radio did not match with wm 6.1,you must use radio for wm 6.1
Go into the Radio thread (stickied) and pulldown and install a radio for 6.1, that's what fixed mine.
There is something odd going on.. I just flashed a WM6.1 ROM I was playing around with and the sound has stopped working. I use the normal kitchen and split the OS.nbh files to ROM,OEM & SYS. After generating the new_OS.nb file I add the radio 1.64.nb file to form the new ROM. I've been using this combination for a few days now and the sound and phone have always worked - untill now. But I have added SRS WOW, so that might be the answer (when you try to run it - you get an error warning and it bombs out!)
As you will see from my first post, I am running a WM6.1 radio....
approx same thing happened to me today. i use alex's wm6.1 home beta edition and radio 1.64.08.21, obviously a wm6.1 radio version.
i switched it to silent, and then, after switching it back, no sound was availablwe, it stayed on silent. no HD WOW installed either.
i thought it has to do with alex's rom...
..I'm thinking the pain of WM6.1 is not worth it at the momement! I think I'll go back to WM6 and one of the 1.24 radios - at least until the bugs are sorted out by those more intelligent than me....
i installed alex's rom last night and havent had any sound since. going to flash a different rom in a few mins
Something different here, as the battery drained, the sound level noticeably dropped. I thought something screwy was going on but wasn't sure until I plugged it in with a podcast playing - BAM volume UP! Alex 6.1b2 - 1.64.06.04.
The same sound issue happened with me using Dutty's v4RTM with any radio. Sound would work for a while, then stop working alltogether. If someone called the phone, it would ring, however neither party could hear each other once connected. Also, the phone was not able to connect via USB to ActiveSync. Dutty's v3 worked just fine for me previously.
I ended up taking AllTheWay's suggestion and flashed Alex's Home ROM v5 and I haven't had an issue with the sound since.
I'm using an AT&T Tilt, so not sure if that makes any difference either.

Sound Issues - Not Radio related!

Hi,
Is anybody else experiencing issues with losing sound on their phone? I have been experiencing this on a number of different roms and initially put it down to an incompatible radio, but I have sinced flashed back to one of Dutty's roms (including radio) and it happened again. I have now flashed back to the stock bootloader and HTC rom and it has happened again!
I am at a bit of a loss now - am in the process of hard resetting my phone to see if it happens on a bare device as I had a number of apps installed although none of them had caused this problem before that I am aware.
Would be interesting to know if anyone else is getting this - don't know if its possible that any of the recent radio/rom releases could have done something permanently damaging to cause this. Will be sending mine back to HTC if it happens again, unless someone identifies a fix?!?
Cheers!

happened to me yesterday. i had to hard reset and my phone still isn't customized 24hrs later.
Do you remember what apps you had installed?
I'm starting to think all of this has something to do with MSVC.
well i have consistently been using version 19209 whilst having these problems. Going to try 17913 again and see how that goes.
Mine too
I've been getting this alot lately, too. I think it's either MS VC or S2U2 1.01, or a combination of them.
I've done the same thing, flashed multiple ROMS and radios, but I've stayed in the WM6.1 family. I was running Confused Stu's Vista 1.2 forever and it suddenly started doing that - loosing sound. I went to 1.3 and then over to a Dutty build, and have now settled on L26_WM6.1_PROV4_(3.51.502.0_WWE)_Multimedia... This time I went slow and only loaded a few apps at a time. I thought it was Calendar+... But I don't have that on here yet.
It seems like it ran fine until I put S2U2 on here, but like I say, I use MS VC to announce everything so maybe it's some action there that didn't happen until after I put s2u2 on there, or maybe coincidence.
I wonder if anyone else is seeing this? I think I'll start over without S2U2 - even tho it rocks! - and chill a week.
Do you use S2U2? Do you use Caller ID in S2U2? How about slide 2 answer, slide 2 end key options? What about blank screen on talk option?
Thanks,
H
s2u2 v1.01 could be the culprit as i have been using it. After slowly reloading apps this morning sound had gone again, and one of the last to go on was s2u2. I don't think MSVC is the problem as it has never done it before plus its cooked into a lot of new roms, whereas s2u2 isn't. Am going to uninstall s2u2 and see what happens. It was one of the last things I put on and sound had been stable before that.
Im getting this issue as well, what radio are you guys running just out of interest, im running duttys 6.1 build 19199 with radio 1.65.14.06
I haved the same problem and resolve it by flash ing TNT 19202 Series PRO with radio 1.65.14.06. Best regards.
Well, the issue came back on the stock rom when I bit the bullet and installed a slightly older version of S2U2 (0.99p)!
I have now reflashed Hard-SPL and the latest Dutty Rom (with MSVC included) and have resisted putting S2U2 on and so far, so good!!
Hey, Zaf, do you run S2U2 or MS VC?
I flashed back to the AT&T Tilt stock ROM (downloaded from HTC web site, incl the radio) and reloaded S2U2 1.01 and MS VC. I lost sound within a couple of hours.
I did a hard reset and have not installed EITHER... I plan to run for a day like this, then put MS VC back on for the weekend, and then S2U2 after that.
I think it's S2U2 and I think it's been around since .99p. But I think 1.01 is worse than .99p or 1.0.
Well, at least we're narrowing down the variables!
Hey, everyone - watch http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=390977
for a similar discussion.
I flashed TNT 19202 Pro thus morning and the sound died few hours later again... Don't use S2U2. I posted more here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2207600&postcount=18
I have lost sound 3 times, it is only through the speaker though, my bluetooth headset continues to work. Once I flashed a new rom to fix it, the other time it fixed itself over a few hours. The third time is happening now!
I have never used S2U so it can't be that. Have been using Dutty's roms, my radio is currently 1.58.16.27.
are we talking about sound in calls, if so i have been experiencing calls dropping and other people can hear me fine but then it suddenly goes quiet for the other caller and they can barely hear me? is this a fault with my kaiser or to do with flashing with custom ROMs.
I think we need to be very clear here what the symptoms are of a specific problem.
My symptoms were that sound would initially be ok after flashing a new ROM (whether it had MSVC cooked in or not) and then I would go through the process of installing my 'regular' apps which has always included S2U2.
Then, at some point after doing this, all sound would disappear - from the device and also during calls (interestingly, during calls, the other party could not hear me either).
I cannot explain for one moment the issues that people who don't use MSVC/S2U2 - some of these might be explainable by radio issues but I am not an expert by any means so would not be prepared to blame that!
All I know for certain is that up until recently I could use MSVC 1.6 build 17913 alongside S2U2 0.99 with NO issues at all - this is why I think that MSVC 19209 combined with S2U2 is the reason.
One other thing, I have not tried S2U2 on its own, without using MSVC, mainly because I am fed up with flashing! Perhaps someone else could confirm or deny if this has caused problems?!?
Yes, my symptoms are EXACTLY as the captain describes in his post... Everything fine for a little while after flashing, but soon after I get all my apps reloaded I call someone, or someone calls me, and there is no sound. No audio at all from the speaker, bluetooth, or in-call speaker. The caller can't hear me, either. I have to soft reset or power cycle to get sound back but it doesn't last long.
All day I've run with the AT&T stock tilt ROM from HTC's web site, still hard SPL'd, and I did not load MSVC, S2U2, or HTC Home yet.
R 1.27.14.09
G 22.45.88.07H
D 1.62.00.00
I have run all day with no sound problems. I am now about to plunge and I think I'll put MSVC on there first and run another day, only because on a whole it's cooler than S2U2. Lets see what tomorrow brings.
Hey, I just found this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=391262
I am using an older build of MSVC... I grabbed the latest build and will give that a shot first. What build are you using? I WAS using 1.6.17913 but aparently it is old. I just grabbed 1.6.19209
Its interesting that you're seeing the issue with the older build of MSVC as I never had it with that build, although I can't remember if I used that build with the latest version of S2U2.
My phone has gone a whole night now with no issues without S2U2 installed, so I think that proves there is a link. Not sure if I can be bothered trying S2U2 without MSVC as, like you, I prefer having MSVC over S2U2.
What is also interesting is that there has not been much (one post I think) mention of this on the S2U2 thread. I may bring it up...
The trouble is, in 6 weeks of trying to deal with the problem by re-flashing ROMs and radios, I would still have the issue. Even though I never install MSVC nor S2U2. I even had the problem on a "clean" setup - just the ROM, I setup Internet connection, ActiveSync wireless Exchange and Note2Self - that's it nothing else. And I would lose sound within 3 to 20 hours with this setup. That's the cleanest setup I could get - I don't need my phone if I don't have Note2Self )
Just saw another of the symptoms... Another thing it would do would be to just crash after a call. So hitting END leaves the screen stuck with whatever's on it, and no way to get off that dialer screen. OK doesn't work, though when I push my VC button I hear it beep. This just happened after a call.
Anyway, I did a power cycle and it's back now. But I do not have S2U2 on here, though the MS VC lady is getting a real workout today... Anyway, sergeb will still tell us that neither app matters, anyway.
Uggh. Still resisting urge to put S2U2 on here.

Cingular 2125 online, but randomly unavailable for incoming calls.

Hello,
I flashed my phone with HTC Tornado WM6 Std few weeks ago. During last 14 days I'm getting information from friends that I'm randomly unavailable.
I'm using ActiveSync to Exchange email sync and Slick (ICQ) was installed on the phone (not executed anyway). Yesterday I sent a SMS and few seconds later I got a SMS from operator with the list of calls that the network was unable to connect.
I suspect that GPRS/EDGE ActiveSync synchronization is causing the phone unavailable for voice calls. But this is against the GPRS standard.
Is it "normal" for this device or it may be the Radio ROM problem (4.1.13.28_02.61.01)?
Thank you
Not available
I have a Qtek 8310 and I've been encountering the same problem all the time on different WM6.1 ROMs. My operator says it shouldn't be so (i.e. this is not their fault). In my case the problem only appears when I'm downloading something. The moment after the download is over the incoming call comes through fine.
I tried different radio versions from original 02.20.01 till 2.71.01 (from a different HTC device). None helped. I only noticed that the older 2.20.01 is more stable in general.
Well, I still don't know the answer, so let's see what other people say...
Works fine now...
Since my last post I've done 2 things: tried WM6.1 Pro RC7 and WM6.5 and changed mobile operator.
1) with any Pro ROM radio worked very stable, without that issue, but I had to switch back to 6.1 Std ROM because it's more comfortable for me.
2) after I had changed mobile operator from a small local one to on of the federal, now everything works fine even on Std ROM.
So, the answer is probably ROM-operator incompatibility.

random no sound issue

I became a couple of weeks ago the happy owner of a HTC Cruise bought with a personalized WM 6.0 Orange RO firmware. Unfortunately I had the great disappointment to discover that from time to time, even two or three times a day, the sounds disappear, I mean all of them – the voice of the caller, alarms, notifications, no matter if the device is on or in stand by. That happens with no apparent reason, in different times, even while I am speaking with a caller – so, while I am talking with somebody, all of a sudden the phone's sounds disappear - I am speaking but I am not hearing the voice of my caller who keeps talking with me. On other occasions, my wife or other persons call me, but because the phone doesn’t ring in my pocket, I am unaware it's ringing and I don't know I have to pick it up and answer.
Whenever it happens and I notice the issue, I soft-reset the device and the sound returns, but after a few hours the problem reappears.
I must confess that I didn't use the original rom at all, as soon as I got it, I upgraded to a a newer rom, at that time deciding on a pdaviet 6.5 ROM, using the recommended radio. Thinking it might be a ROM problem, I hoped switching to an official firmware would solve the problem, so at the moment I am using the official 6.1 firmware (I think it comes with it's own radio). The issue remains.
The only thing that remained constant is the hard spl - could that have anything to do with it??
Any ideas?
I doubt it's Hard SPL issue... too many users (with very various ROMs), and not a common problem.
It could be some software, since problem is not constant. Does problem repeat if using "naked" ROM - meaning, no additional programs installed?
so simple
Great idea! It was so simple it didn't even cross my mind. And you are right, it could be an explanation, considering there is ton of installed programs. I'll do a clear storage and keep you posted.
thanks!
I had de same problem. I beleave it is the radio. Now I have V.1.59.42.15 and it works fine.
I'm not sure...

I have (and had) the same version of radio, because that's included in the official htc wm6.1 rom.
Right now I'm testing the pda without any additional software installed, and up to this point I haven't noticed the audio bug. I'll wait some more and see
Nice.
Check my list of installed programs.
I have NO audio, BT or GPS problems at all...
i have the same problem with wm 6.5 roms. when i install any 6.5 rom. my polaris goes to silent.. then i reinstall any 6.1 rom it works fine..
Try other WM 6.5 ROM... if you have to...
Same problem here, with 6.1 roms bepe's one an the oficial of movistar (here in spain).
And no other adicional programs instaled. (except TomTom)
