HTC S710 (VOX) Homepage - HTC Vox

Yes, now that's the HTC S710 is on the market, i'm looking for that HTC Homepage (maybe an xml file). Guess someone can manage it

you have just to change this key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / MICROSOFT / INTERNET EXPLORER / ABOUTURLS\HOME_xxxx with the value "file://\windows\default_xxxx.htm"
where xxxx = your langague code (040C for french....)

Sorry for my too bad english
I mean Todayhome page as we can see elsewhere not htc homepage from the web.
It looks like a htc theme for the Vox.

How To replace the UserAgent on WM6.1 roms ?

Has anyone found which registry key need to be changed ?
My browser keep sending "ie mobile 7.11"
Thanks!
Not sure what you are referring to. Do you mean the home page on internet explorer or that it always chooses the mobile version of web pages vs normal desktop page?
UserAgent is the string sent by the browser to any visited website.
In my case, I'd like to set this string to the same value as on the SPV C500 (Orange cellphone) to be allowed to visit Orange portal (and use their video content and stuff)
That I haven't encountered before. Could just be the device name in the settings menu but it might be something else.
MobileConfig I have Beta Version 1.3 and you can change it there.
Good Luck
thanks Mark, I'll give a try (but i'm a bit sceptical as your program is from Mar. 2007... And I tried to change the useragent string in the usual registry locations with no luck)

UserAgent

Can't access to XDA forum with HD2. Is it due to UserAgent from ROM Orange FR?
I have the same device as you, and I'm writing this message with my HD2!
The problem is when you search "XDA" with google mobile on hd2 rom f..k orange, there is not the good page results (I don't understand too!)
So,make www.google.fr your default home page and now search from your new start page when opera is launched (not from manila onglet)!
Tell me what is the result!

Vodafone Live on Non Branded Roms

Hi Guys,
I have a "hacked" HD2 with an official HTC Rom Version 1.48. The problem is that the german Vodafone Live Portal is shown without pictures in the Internet Explorer. On my Trinity the User Agent had to be adjusted either in the registry or via Advanced Config or via cab-file.
Does anyone have experience how to proceed with the HD2. I found a thread in the german vodafone forum but the posted cab file which should solve the problem isn`t available any more - I already posted there to enable it again - i hope the owner will react. Maybe a XDA-Developer will be faster...
Any idea?
The same here in the Netherlands
This is what I see, I've tried with proxy and without proxy, but it remains the same. I think the HD2 is not supported, and maby they work with a certificate.
Vodafone only allows their own branded ROMs to get full access to their Live-Portal. Changing the registry should simulate a Vodafone branded ROM like it worked already for the Trinity and other HTCs.
Cracks please help us!

Solution
OK I got it!
1) Install Opera 10 beta
2) Start Opera - then enter in adressbox:
opera:config
3) In the preference area search for "User Prefs" and enter in the Custom User Agent Box:
Vodafone/1.0/HTC_Touch_Diamond2 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; de)
4) Go to the bottom of the site and save the configuration - then restart opera and go to the Vodafone Live Portal - Bingo!!!
Sorry I couldn`t post Links as I´m still a Noob and controlled by the Admins.
If you want it to Dutch language, change the last to: nl
Like this:
Vodafone/1.0/HTC_Touch_Diamond2 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; de)
will be:
Vodafone/1.0/HTC_Touch_Diamond2 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; nl)
Works great, thanks hoerni1000!

does anyone know how to make vodafone live work for the telstra htc HD2 T9193 model? I've tried the australian vodafone website, customer care and even manual set up instructions on the vodafone website but still can't get the vodafone wap setting on my htc hd2. any help will be appreciated.

How to make browser report as different device?

Hi,
Having recently ordered the FIFA World Cup 2010 PS3 game for my son, I have now been sent a code to download a mobile version of the game. The list of supported devices included the following HTC devices (I added the "= ***" after looking them up):
HTC P3450 = HTC Touch (QVGA)
HTC T3333 - touch = HTC Touch2 (QVGA)
HTC T8585 - touch = HTC Touch HD2 (WVGA)
HTC P3700 = HTC Touch Diamond (VGA)
HTC T5353 = HTC Touch Diamond 2 (WVGA)
HTC T7373 = HTC Touch Pro 2 (WVGA)
HTC 8925 = HTC Tytn II (QVGA)
I, stupidly, assumed that seeing as other WVGA HTC WinMo devices were on the list, then my Touch HD would be ok. However I get a message saying my device isn't supported. My first thought was that it may be Opera 10 causing this incompatibility (would not be the 1st time), so I changed my default browser to IE. Still the same message. I browsed to the "My Account" section only to see my device was detected as "Mozilla". I changed the IE options to "browse as mobile device". Now I still get the "unsupported" message, but my device is detected as "Handset Type: HTC T8282 Touch HD".
So my first question is, what registry setting do I need to change so that I can report my device as either the T8585 or T5353? I clearly need to do this to enable me to download the game.
Second question is, how can I return Opera 10 as being my default browser? I thought it'd be a simple setting, but I cannot find anything.
FYI, my Touch HD is running an Energy WM6.5 ROM (see sig).
Many thanks for your help,
Simon
Edit:
Ok, a continued web search still didn't turn anything up. However, upon searching the registry for "T8282" I found just the following key:
HKLM\Security\Internet Explorer\User Agent\CustomBase = HTC_Touch_HD_T8282 Mozilla/4.0
By then doing a websearch of the key, I was able to find out that I should change the value to "HTC_HD2_T8585 Mozilla/4.0". Having done this, I still get an "unsupported" message despite my phone identifying itself as an HD2 (see attachments). Is there likely to be something else that is still identifying the device as a T8282?
Thanks

I guess what you are offering is to d/load the game on my behalf and forward it on? I do not know if this game will be native (cab) or Java (jar). Hopefully it would be native. If so, would the cab remain on the device to enable you to forward it on or "backup" to allow reinstall? Or would it download/ install/ remove cab? I don't know the normal EA process.
I have actually raised a ticket with EA questioning its availability. The console game has a release date of tomorrow. I am wondering if this mobile game won't be downloadable until then either?
I will update here once I get a response. If I need someone to d/load on my behalf, then I will PM for your number so as I can forward the message.
Thanks.

The way I would try to change the user agent in opera 10 is thru the configuration file. Mainly
1. Enter OPERA:CONFIG in the url field in opera.
2. Scroll down to the USER AGENT section, and change the setting to something other than 1, maybe 4 or 5 as explained here.
3. SAVE and re-start opera (or maybe device just in case).
However, it could be this setting actually changes the registry value you found. Anyway, just another idea.
