The today screen I'm looking for - General Topics

A big digital clock with the current calendar (current date highlighted) in the background.
On either the right or left side of the screen are large user configurable buttons indicating Task, Contacts, Weather, Apps, etc.. When you push a button, a menu slides out allowing you to view Tasks, the weather, quick dial contacts, or apps to execute (i.e. Gnome GUI sliding menus).
Anything like that exist for WM5?

Alternative to HTC Home?

Dear all,
Would anyone please list out all the alternatives to HTC Home
or tell me your favourite today screen "home launcher" plugin IF you don't like HTC Home, and why?
Many thanks and look forward for all your feedback
I don't dislike Home, but I've recently disabled it. The reason: it does nothing that Mobile Shell 2 cannot do better. I like Mobile Shell 2 a lot, and once I have it, having Home take a lot of my Today screen's real estate for basically the same features didn't make sense.
An alternative to Mobile Shell is Pointui. It's more radically different, very well done in some aspects, buggy in others. Check it up.
I have SPB Pocket Plus.
Tab one has the PocketClock that was posted hiere on the forum, underneath is SBP Phone Suite, underneath is TodayAgenda.
Tab two has my most used programs and Tab three has SBP Weather and a few status displays (RAM, storage, etc...)
there would also be Touch Commander, but its basically the same and I read its rather buggy. dont know if this is still the case.
I prefer htc home due the resources consumes of the rest. For a quicklink on programs I use Quickmenu, that provide reset and other capabilities.
I prefer rlToday just becoz I could write it clean and simple analog clock with 3 notifications. SMS Email and Missed Calls. I use battery status for tray icons. QuickMenu for complete navigation.
Use Pointui Home
SPB Mobile Shell + PhoneAlarm.

[req] favorite contacts as a grid

Does anyone know if there is a way (by .cab) to get the favourite contacts as a grid on tf3d, instead of having to slide them one by one?

So, does anyone know if there is another way?

I know resco and funcontact as well, but i'd love to have a solution that alows me to just use the manila tab to get to the favorite contacts and scrool them as a grid...
With one of this contact manager programs i have to run the program and then scrool contacts... I know that this is just one key stroke away, but...
You can combinate "ManilaTodayPage" (use the Todayscreen in Manila) an the Today-Plugin from Resco Contactmanager, or SPB Phone. I don´t know an other solution.

TouchFLO 3D 2.5 (Manila) - calendar: category filter

Hi everyone!
Is there any way (or at least registry hack) how to hide or filter calendar appointments for some category in TouchFLO 3D 2.5? I have in callendar for each day name-day appointments. In e.g. month or week view it looks messy and "real" appointments (with other category) is hard to find.
Thanks for any advice.
Same here: I have WM 6.5 on my TD2 and use Oggsync to sync our company calenders from Google to my phone. All company calendars are different categories like "Project A", "Project B", "Vacation" etc. and I do want to have them on my phone.
However I want to choose which categories are being displayed on the Home Screen.
Any ideas anyone how to do this?
Also: Is there an alternative calender App for WM 6.5 which has a good category filter and possibly can display different categories in differnt colors, just like Google calender?
Thanks a lot // Tom

Hi, seems a pretty simple request but I can't find anything that does exactly this. You can try Thumbcal (not free) which colour codes categories and filters them and is generally pretty neat. Not integrated with Manila though. I use it with multiple Google calendars and Nuevasync. Other, older, also non free options are available in various PIMs. Should be a way to do it in Manila/Sense though. Oh well.
same problem - nobody fixed it yet?
I'd like to hide the calendar in the home of the official HTC TOUCH PRO2 6.5 rom..
Is there no way?

SPB TIME Integration

Is there a way to integrate SPB Time instead of the HTC Alarm?
What about phone suite, anyone managed to get integration in sense GUI

No.
But i think SPB Time integrates with WP.
what do you mean wp?
Well, there is a way to integrate G-Alarm, so why not Spb Time? Their 3.0 version is quite nice, by the way.
+1
I must say that I am pretty amazed by the interface of version 3.
Would be great to have it linked with the Sense Home menu.
Anyone managed to do it?
It did work on my Touch HD but not in HD2, so I have now given up completely. I was able to get bits of it to work like phone filtering but it was just too much grief and the today bit keep on being greyed-out.
Now moved over to Magi Call and it is so much better, does calls and sms and I so wish that if SPB bring out a new version that they take a look at this program and try and better it if they can.
Spb time on home screen
M currently using SPB TIME directly from home screen. when i press alarm button it automatically takes me to spb time app, u just need to install cookie's home tab and u can edit alarm in registry.
cheers
try this:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493810&page=27
(or search for SSMAHO)
...no probs on my HD2 (spbtime, pocketinformant)

it´s written in the post already: install Cookies Home Tab. With it instaled you can select any appication to start when clicking to the clock of your Home Tab
use CHT
then in cht Editor > Application
change alarm +/- clock to Spb
Thanx for the replies guys, but this method only opens up the alarm set screen,it doesn't directly open SPB Time itself which is what I'm after (from the home screen rather than using a quicklink)
Edit : I stand corrected I didnt add the clock to the application list, that did the trick cheers.
I can get CHT to link to SPB alarm and it will open it up, but it main tab doesn't show any alarms set. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Will
just do it thru CHT editor..applications duh

I do it thru CHT editor. It will link the home tab shortcut to SPB alarm, but the alarms don't show up on the home tab.
FYI: I am running Jackos ROM

yes, it works 100% in my case. I´m using it since several months. As told above I´m using it with CHT 2.0. Just link it with CHTEditor

if you just need to edit homepage shortcuts it may be a better solution to run CHT 1.6.1, it's lghter and needs less resources than CHT 2.
SPB Mobile shell is another good option, it will show on homepage your spb time alarms

How to change links from sense (calendar-->informant)..?

Hi,
there was before ssmapa, if I remember well...
what about Leo, is there any soft to change links
from sense to 3rd party software, on example,
from calendar to informant.. etc?
Does anybody tried?
Is there maybe registry changes?
thx
Wox !
I'm interested too in the modifiable link of the home screen.
If you set PocketInformant (or any other calendar app.) to your default app. for appointments and you hide the calendar tab in Sense, a tap on a calendar item in the sense home page will take you directly to PI.
If you set PI as the default app. for task a tap on the WinMo task icon wil fire up the taks "department" of your favorite organizer app.
(didn't test contacts, but i guess that it will work in the same way)
This trick will also work for Agenda One and SBSH Calendar Touch (tested)
Personnaly, I put SBSH Calendar Touch on start icon on today of sence and keep the tab of calendar.
When I want to see rapidly my appointments, I click on the tab of sence, if I want more, I click on SBSH CT icon.
Yeah, that's a nice setting. I like the calendar tab of Sense too, I even use it for quickly making an appointment. A nice and simple way of getting your things done.
But it's always nice to have the oppertunity to fire up an app to do some "heavy" calendar tasks Right now I'm testing three PIM-apps:
PocketInformant
Agenda One
SBSH Calendar Touch
I really like the way SBSH Calendar touch displays my tasks and let me handle them. On the other hand I don't like SBSH CT's calendar week view. Agenda One has a more sophisticated week view that I like much more.
PI is too much of a burden to use for my purpose. Although it has the best week view of all PIM apps at the moment, it is too much depending for it's use on the input of a tiny stylus.
I think I stick to the minimalistic HTC Calendar tab, and use SBSH Calendar touch for my tasks.

SSMAHO, the successor to SSMAPA. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493810
This will allow you to soft-change the Calendar link in the frontpage to whatever you want to launch. I use ThumbCal personally.
Think this is the 4th time I've posted this link in the HD2 forum by now!
