Cisco's new VPN client works with Internet Sharing - General Topics

for those of you whose VPN connectivity was broken when WM switched from DUN to PAN in aku 3.3 & greater this will be good news.
I just downloaded the latest VPN client from Cisco (v5.0.00.340) and connected up my laptop just fine via IPSec over UDP using my TyTN's Internet Sharing connection.
For the record, I tested this on WM6 build 17741.0.2.1 over both USB and Bluetooth PAN connections.
another bug bites the dust....

Can you write how to use this programme for novice? When i used old wmodem ip was external, when i used IS my ip is internal. Will this tool solve my problem?

The inbuilt vpn lt2p/ipsec works fine with the cisco concentrator using certificates.

I assume you talking about my post ? Ease up neptune
Have just realised that many have asked for this and no one has posted a solution is that what you are saying. If so I will create a post that details the the setup to get the l2tp/ipsec vpn working. At this stage I have only got it working successfully with certificates. PSK gets to phase 2 auth but then falls over. I would like to get both working so I can post both solutions however I will document the certficiate solution if anyone is interested.

WPA Enterprise (PEAP Access) Possible in WinMo 6?

I was told by someone that Windows Mobile 6 is capable of accessing WPA Enterprise encrypted access points. My college employs WPA Encryption on all WiFi access points, utilizing Protected EAP (PEAP) and 802.x access controls. I'm wondering if this person was wrong in telling me that my T-Mo Dash with WM6 could access this APs, or is there some trick I don't know about?
Thanks for all the help.
I`m interested in this problem too... can anyone help please?

i have tried the gnutella software and while it works quite well it has a habit of crashing
as this is freeware has anyone tried taking this over as i believe the author stopped working on this a while ago.
failing that does anyone know of a more stable software that allows p2p downloads on wm5/6?
cheers

I think PockeTTY is the best. Still not perfect (specially because it's not optimized for VGA resolution) but at least the best ssh-client I could find.
thank you guys for rdp and ssh, too

[req] "Best" VPN solution?

Hi fi all di readas.
Notice the quotation marks on the title please...
So... my favourite would be OpenVPN (because it is the fastest and seems also the most secure) and it is well configured on my laptop. But I am unable to configure it on my pda. Copied the files from laptop to pda but no luck and I really do not know the bugs and weaknesses of the CE version. So I just gave up.
I also tried bluefire but I did not understand the server side (hardware router-based server?). Also gave up
And of course the first ever I tried was the CE built-in one. No luck.
So... (again) what are you using?
I am not a programmer, just a poweruser btw.
I believe there is native support for a PPTP VPN, right?
Yes there is but I cannot get it to run.

Has anyone found a decent openvpn client for HD2?

Help! I really need to find an openvpn client for my hd2. There are times I cannot bring my laptop with me all the time. An instance was last night, I had network downtime wherein I could not connect to my servers due to firewall restrictions. So I need an openvpn connection, but I can't find any client for HD2.
Any suggestion would be welcome.
Thanks
+1
bye
Sven
add me .
any luck? i couldn't find anything so far...
Hi,
there is a client for WiMo here and it's working on the HD2, but it needs to stop Sense. Reason is that it can only be controlled via the native WiMo GUI. So in case one can live with stopping Sense everytime you need VPN there is a solution. Of course I would prefer a program running with Sense.
bye
Sven
