this should be the function:

Found it... Open the file browser through active sync and copied the shortcut to the "Windows/Start Menu", renamed it to the origianl name... done

hello everyone, long time member of howardforums and just joined xda and find some very usefull info, thank you all. i ran into a small problem last night. i have a tilt , not flashed but i have installed the htc home screen and everything worked great. last night i tryed to install the touchflo program found in a few places in this forum and it didn't work but thats when the interesting stuff happen....after deleting all touchflo cab files and restarting the tilt every time at startup it gives me a warning " FTouchFlo.exe cannot be open, its either not signed with a trusted certificate or one of its components can not be found. try reinstalling or restoring file." ????? and now the icon that used to be under the clock for favorite people that would send me their pics so i can just one touch dial is GONE? tryed installing the cab for the htc homescreen again but the same....there is a music short cut that lets me launch the music player that wasn't there before? i downloaded the htc home plugin customisor and even when i set for 6 icons on the bottom of the clock it still just gives me 5?
at the end of the day i would like to have the touchflo program but its not a big deal if i dont, i would however really like to have the pic dialer back on my screen as its really convinient to dial my fav people with it.thanks in advance

Keys are in the registry. To access and change the registry you need a registry viewer/editor. There are many but for simple "everyday" use this is a good one:

Be careful though delete the wrong things and you'll end up needing a hard reset.

PHM downloads as a .MSI windows installer. So it will not install properly unless you have your device connected via active sync when you run the downloaded file. So connect your device via usb cable. Let active sync connect and update. Then while still connected run the installer download. During the process a message will pop up on your device. If a choice is offered it will be ok to install to storage card if you have one.

looking around to find out what is the status of HTC concerning a probably new drivers release for the devices with Qualcomm 7200 chipset, i've found the file below, which should contain a new User Interface code name MANILA.
I'm sure most of you hear about it.
Well, i've been trying to install the file, but in some way i don't get it, even if I edit the cab and write a new setup.xml. May be because I have the Original O2 ROM on my Orbit 2, i'm not sure at all
Could some of you try if the install works on your cooked HTC Roms ??

Well I can install the file (but can't uninstall it).
Seems to slow down my phone a bit, and it doesn't work.
It does show a plugin on the today screen "Tap here to start HTC Home.".
But it will respond with a "HTC Home is terminated unexpectedly, please tap here to start HTC Home."
What can I say, it looks interesting, but won't run for me.

HTC Manila
doesn't work on my device (UdK Lizard 6.3). There is also "Tap here to start HTC Home" and then "HTC Home is terminated unexpectedly...".
When i reset, HTC Home is shown before entering my PIN, after it's gone and the "Tap here..." text is there..... and it's true, it's slowing down the device a bit...
damn....looks really cool, hope someone get this working!

It seems similar to PointUI http://www.pointui.com/Home.aspx, haven't tested but claims to work with WM from 2003 to 6.

I get the same error Message, when I go to the explorer and try to exexute the manila.exe, it shows a certificate or missing components error. I modify the cab and installed completed on \Windows directory and same error.

I did, my problem now is my own work on the office
The problem is in Manila.exe not in scripts and in the today plugin, even properly signed it still returns an error

I got it working, but it isn't exactly doing anything, and slow as hell (note the fps meter in the corner)
Btw the weird stuff on the bar is the molski.biz lvm top battery plugin going crazy when the ppc is docked or charged.

most roms have a utility that will allow network settings to be automatically retreived
settings will have to be done from scratch
look for a program called pimbackup to save numbers
and
you can do a search for compatible keyboard aound the internet
but how to know that it is compatibil, das it depand on wm6.1 or diamond by akeo, or ...what?
this phone is too smart or i am too stupid

Let me intoduce u to my archive of usefull apps for MEGA users
1st cab - Make ur MEGA sound 20% louder than before
2nd cab - Return your MEGA to it's normal sound setting
3rd cab - Make ur Mega not lock itself when u press the OFF button ! Very usefull but after getting worried calls from granma " Why u called me and u didn't talk !? i got so so woried " i removed it It turns ur device in standby like default but it does not require to slide that cube to unlock keys are active !
4th cab - Make ur Mega lock itself like it was before
5th cab - Removes that teasing question when u install a new program/application and it asks if u trust the polices or some sort of that Very usefull !
6th cab - Activating the support of WiFi 802.11G
7th cab - Makes ur WiFi stay awake when the phone get's locked , usefull when using Skype(or similar) or dont want to connect/disconnect/reconnect every time u leave it for a minute and it goes in standby
8th cab - U know when u open something and there's a field where u can type something and ur keyboard goes on !? isn't that annoying !? Here's the solution ! It'll show on only when u want it !

1st cab - Increase your touch screen sensitivity ... i cant really say it works but it is worth trying at least it wont bite !
2nd cab - Change ur softkeys at ur Home screen ! could be very usefull if u got to talk a lot and got to have quick access to contacts and call history !
They'll become-- Left - Contacts Right - Call History
3rd cab - Rotate Screen ... i know there's alredy "How To" but i think this would be much faster and easier Install the cab , make a Soft Reset , go to "Start/Settings/Personal Folder" and start "Buttons" , mark "Send key (Hold)" if it isnt and from the bellow menu "2.Assign a program" choose "<Rotate Screen>" ! After that press OK and enjoy i really cant find it that usefull but u know the best
4th cab - Reset button Install it and u will open ur back panel 50% less than before ! it's just a shortcut , tap on it and ur device Soft Resets just like if u punched the back key , but now u dont have to open ur back panel and use ur stylus I really preffer it couse at sometime this backpanel could break some of the pins and it'll come unstable
I'm too booooored now to connect the MEGA to the PC and upload 1-2-3 more usefull apps , which maybe u alredy know but i'll do that tomorrow ... new owners would find this thread usefull
Nice collection. I can confirm that the sensitivity increase does work, its too twitchy though. I've performed most of these tweaks manually but its good for people who arent sure about it.
Now we just need a damn app that improve the camera and easily allows you to map the "take photo" button to a real button.

Okay, from what I understand you're calling him a thief for posting these files?
He never claimed he created or owned the files, he was simply re-posting a collection of useful files found here on XDA for mega users to find and access them quickly.
That's not theft.
The reason for not post them here these CAB files is that some of them with no problem. But the man who posted them might be explained in more detail where the problem is and how to remove it. Since the I'm doing them, but he is not declared anywhere where they took (the name of the forum) I have another name for it. Anyway - is alive and well! Please no longer discuss this issue.

i'm no programmer , so i cant really tell u what to do i just translated and uploaded the progs from another forum for 2 months i havent found a way of doing your desire but u can use Resco File explorer or Total Comander which have ur wanted option of selecting only those files u want to

Why can't I put this in my shortcuts on my Touch2? I've installed this one, but it isn't available in my list of programs that I can choose....
Is there a way to put a random file (or in this case an .exe file) that I want in my shortcuts??

Sensitivity Touch.cab
Rotate Screen.cab
Softkey changе (Right-Contacts)(Left-CallHistory).cab
Every installation was successful and gives a message as
"The program you have installed may not display properly because it was designed for a previous version of Windows software."
And none of the program works.
I am using HTC T3320 which has Windows 6.5 V.
Pls let me know what i should do so that it works with Windows 6.5 V.

I'm using this medical program UpToDate a lot at work, but it only works well if IE is my default browser. But, except for this, I prefer to use Opera.
Can someone please make a script/program to temporarily set IE as def. browser? What I'm thinking of is a Mortscript which, if started,
- first sets IE as default,
- then runs UpToDate,
- if UpToDate exits: set Opera as default browser.
Would this, or another solution be possible? Can someone help me with this, I have no experience in programming.
To be clear, UpToDate is working for me (it's not the problem with a white screen you find elsewhere on this forum), but if I open an article for the second time in one session, it open in Opera, and links cannot be clicked anymore. Others are having this problem as well.

There is a thread on which several solutions are posted..... a quick way to do this is go to internet explorer, under tools option other select tell me if IE is not default browser....., then exit ie, then lauch again ie, you should see a windows that says IE is not the default browse.....would you like it to be?... or something like that, select yes and the fire up uptodate..... in a second I will post the link to the thread with other automatic solutions....
Anyway, there is a problem about scrolling in uptodate, but there is also a solution, FStouchl.... If you know mortscript, could you write a mortscript that launches fstouchl when uptodate is lauched and close it when it closes? thanks...

anyhow, I am on dutty's HG1.7 21898 and I do not need to use any kind of hacks to run uptodate, not even selct ie as default, only fstouchl .... just my 2 cents.

The fix you gave is functional if UTD is not working at all (white screen bug). UpToDate is running well for me, but there is aother small bug if I open an article for the second time in one session, it opens in Opera. This can be solved by making IE one's def. browser. So I was looking for a script to temporary do this.

Basically, you'll need to rename the current UpToDate exe to something else (not decided yet) and I'll call this application UpToDatePPC50.exe. That way, your shortcuts will run this application instead. It will read the default browser (in case you ever change it to something else) and then set it to be IE. Then it will run the program and finally revert your default browser to the original when you exit.
It's pretty straight-forward, but I'll PM you with a link when it's ready for you to test. Once you're happy, I'll attach it to this thread as a zip. Hopefully, I'll get something to you later today

This has actually turned out to be a much bigger job than expected. When I first saw this I was under the impression that the default browser was identified by 1 registry key. Unfortunately, that's not the case. There's a LOT of registry keys that are affected by your choice of default browser.
I'll still do this, but it won't be soon as I already have some major projects underway. All I can suggest is subscribing to this thread so you get an update when I've done something.

I now use the Mortscripts that are available for this for using UpToDate, they work fine, and only one extra tap is needed. You will find them if you search this forum for UpToDate.

To clear things up: we are talking about the "white screen issue"* here, not about a license issues or things like that.
There are several solutions here on XDA for the white screen problem. I've tried them all, and now it is working. I'm not complete sure which one solved it for me though .
I'm almost sure this worked for me:
2: Install dr. Tom's UptoDate fix (which is a .cab.).
3: After that install Mortscript 4.2, also a .cab (to be able to run the scripts)
4: Download the two scripts and place them on your device. (one for uptodate and one for internet explorer)
5: Open the uptodate script in a text editor and check if directs to the correct location of the uptodate executable (depending on if you installed uptodate on your device or storage card). Modify and save if necessary.
6: Run the uptodate script to start upto date. Run the IE-script to start IE. You will notice IE does not work after running the UTD script, untill you run the IE script again. And vice versa.
