Hi
I was just wondering if anyone has ever used a 4gb SD Micro card (with adapter ofcourse) on their Xda 2 and if so, is it fully compatible?
I was gonna go for the normal 4gb SD card but then that won't be compatible with the newer Xda's should I decide to upgrade since they all take the Sd Micro's..
Cheers,
Riz.
not sure about the 4gb version but i have kingston 2gb micro with a sd adaptor and that works like a charm
Hi
I´m currently using a SanDisk ultra II 4gb and it works ok. I have qtek2020 with wm5
regards
There is a difference between 4GB Sd and 4GB Micro SD Card.
The Micro SD > 2GB is only available as SDHC card, and that is not
(yet) supported by HTC
Our apologies regarding the FAQ, it is currently incorrect and the department who is in charge of the website has been informed.
The FAQ should state that we support up to 4GB with SD cards and 2GB with Mini and Micro-SD. We do not currently support SDHC/2.0 and as such we could not say as to whether these formats would work correctly with your device.
So as to repeat your question on capacity briefly, your HTC P3300 is supported for use with up to a 2GB Micro-SD card.

I have a Kingston 16GB class 4 microSD card. My gtab sees it just fine. One time it didn't recognize the card. I popped it out and back in again, and the gtab recognized the card immediately.
I had the same thing happen with a SanDisk Micro SDHC card. I popped it out and back in and it was recognized.
Beyond that, I don't understand why a PC will not recognize the removable SD card when it's in the GTab. I'm used to connecting my Droid X (previously by Blackberry Storm) to my PC and treating it as a removable drive. I'm surprised I cannot do that on the GTab.

Someone mentioned that Winamp has an automount option that allows seeing sdcard2 from PC...
Mine is a Polaroid 16 Gig Class 2 Micro SD HC that the Gtab does not see. Do I need to buy a new micro sdhc card?
my Sandisk 8GB Micro SD class 4 card works. I am awaiting a pair of 16 Gb class 4 cards (Sandisk), I hope to have no issues with them.

I'll let you know once I have it. I'm hoping it will arrive early next week.
What brand of card are you using. I personally try to stick with Sandisk if possible.
Hello,
I have a dumb question.
What is the difference between the 16 and 32 GB versions (besides the obvious)?
Is this the amount of internal storage on the device? Or is it the maximum total amount? I thought I read somewhere that the number represents the amount you can upgrade to, not the amount onboard?
Thanks!
J
Just that one has 16gb internal storage and one has 32gb.

Thank you!!!
So both of them also use an external flash memory card? What is the maximum size (Mb) the external card can be?

32 GB is about the largest micro SD you can find. So that is the limit of what you can ad to the tablet itself. But the dock has a SD card so you can add another 32+ that way. And the dock has 2 USB ports where you could plug in a hard drive for TBs more storage.

wow so if you get the 32 GB version you can have:
32 Gb (built-in) + 32 Gb (tablet) + 32 Gb (dock) = 96 Gb
the next thing i will be getting is an external solid state drive for the USB ports
I have a 32 gig class 10 patriot in my 32 gigger Nothing in my dock yet!
Anyone know if it's possible to upgrade the internal storage? 16GB is probably enough for me, but I was just wondering. With a bit of luck it would just require opening up the case and replacing an internal SD card. Has anyone opened one up yet?

32GB (built-in) + 32GB (microSD) + 64GB (SD) = 128GB
But remember, you can only save apps to the internal memory.

Way more than that. You always connect external hard drives to the USB ports! Terabytes of stored for your TF!
One thing to note is that the 32gb models seem to have less quality issues than the original batch of 16gb units. But that is probably just due to 2nd and 3rd run build improvements. My 32gb doesn't seem to have many of the physical issues that many people are talking about.
What about 64gb sdhc

I would be shocked if its like the Win Phones where its just a micro SD card in there. Likely its soldered to the board because its going to be high speed NAND flash as its used for the OS and Application.
That is one of the reasons, I would bet, that the 32gb is $100 more than a $32 gig card you can get on Newegg. Its not just a Kingston memory card, its likely NAND on die. Now, whether or not you need that much high speed memory is up to you.
That is why I opted for the 16gig, I will probably only have a couple of gigs of apps, but the 4 gigs of music I have on it and then most of the pictures/video etc I would put on the SD card for easy swapping out of content.
If it really is the case that the 32gig is having fewer issues than the 16 and my 16 has a defect then I would upgrade just for that purpose.

Sure it is - any over 4GB SD is SDHC.
But I guess SDXC is being meant?

I just got a 16GB from the latest Best Buy run. They must be improved too, because I notice none of the minor issues some reviews complained about early on, like chassis flex.
About sixteen.
And then the world changed:
http://gizmodo.com/5805482/the-worlds-first-64gb-microsd
Now it's:
32GB (internal) + 64GB microSD + 64GB SDHC= 160GB Total
P.S. I have a 16GB and have none of the issues so far (knocks on wood).
I'm pretty sure that 64GB microSD wouldn't work in the trsnsformer as its SDXC not SDHC. That and probabaly won't see it in stores too soon.
So what's the biggest micro SD card that the g tablet can take?

I think 16gb, since max capacity (in viewsonic page says) its 32gb
so 16gb from internal, and 16gb from external?
i might be wrong...

32gb its max
I'm currently running a 32 gb from Amazon. It needed to be formatted to fat32 first obviously but it works perfectly now
some places it said 32g and some other places said 128g. I was wondering if anyone tested.
No problem here, 64gb sandisk is running well.
Same here, 64GB SanDisk (Class 10) works fine.
128 gb Sandisc xc class 10 work fine, phone shows 119gb free memory
