Keyboard in some Roms - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Hey guys,
It seems I have installed all of the different ROMS currently available. It's great that they come with different apps/tweaks. But, that makes it harder to decide which one to use
One of the ROMS has a colored keyboard with more features. I can't seem to find out what app/tweak that is. Can someone post the name, or location to get. I'd like to put it on one of the "clean" Roms.
Thanks!!!
AND - GREAT work here on this board. Amazing what gets developed.

Have you read the other threads, its all over the place..
here is the file

Its a file called 'msim.96.dll.0409.mui' that needs adding to the \Windows folder. If you are building your own ROM you can just add it to the build, no other settings required. Iv'e added it to mine

I use Faria's WM5 3.3 and just tried to installed it.
It installed with no error, but the keyboard did not change, even after a soft reset.

I installed keyboard skin cab, after soft reset it is showing up fine.

Is there a cab that works with WM5?

How do you set custom keyboard skins?

I just installed Crossbow Reloaded 1.5, which had a cool custom keyboard skin. However, I found another keyboard skin from a different thread and tried to replace the *.mui file. However, this turned my keyboard back to the default plain keyboard. I backed up the original *.mui file for the keyboard, however replacing that still didn't help. I did soft resets too, can someone help me out please? I already searched the forum and nothing >.<
I'm not sure if this is what you're wanting, but I've attached MuN's keyboard skin cab file that you can install. I have a feeling it's the one you had and can't get back. Just install the cab file from your phone.

Yes, Crossbow Reloaded used the mUn's keyboard skin. There is also an XPlore keyboard skin (its all grey and black) thats pretty nice (but I like the color in mUn's personally).
As newbie2 said, just install his cab and you should be good. Look at the Xplore 2.0 thread for that cab for that keyboard skin (its in the first post or so).
Thanks! The cab worked. I originally had this, then wanted to use the nicer looking keyboard skin from Xplore's rom, but trying to install his caused me to lose the keyboard skins alltogether.
Thanks guys!

Because it was signed with certifficates that were not in your rom ...
Sorry about that...it was meant for my Core 2.0n and i forgot to add certifficates.
Try this cab for that : http://rapidshare.com/files/32343201/SdkCerts.cab
and only after add the keyboard

ROMs...

Just wondering if there are any ROMs out there that don't contain HTC Home, or Cube, or anything along those lines. Looking for a ROM that gives me just the "normal" (yeah, I know) today screen that I can customize the way I want it. Yes, I've downloaded and tried many of the ROMS that all have the "touch" feel to them, and I've disabled those components, flashed new dialers, changed color schemes, etc., but was looking for a "clean" ROM without those elements. Is there such a beast?
Thanx.

Try Q-Mobile 1.2 from Quentin. IMO the best "clean" ROM around. And it's fast!!

Dutty's old ROMs (No.6b and No.7b) have lite versions that are very good. I still use No.7b Lite with 32MB page pool.
the magic word is "lite"
Alex's UltraClean. Q-mobile. Etc. I am currently using Dutty's V2 (medium). No cube or anything. All are great ROMS - the "best" will be a personal preference.
Thanx for the suggestions, peeps. I've looked them over and I think I'll be trying Alex's ROM.

Remember there are some ROM's that only work with radio 1.27.14.09 so if you get great reception with this radio I suggest you stick with ROM that will work with that.
Thanx again, all.
Surprising!! I dont see the "search and find yourself / its upto you" tone in any of the replies from the "senior" members for this thread opened by another senior memeber.

wallpaper in tabs!

did anybody succeed to replace the standard tab background by a different picture? is there any solution for td2 yet? i read there are ways to do this on touch hd.
edit: THIS WORKS! =)

Great Thanks! Was searching for something like that
Will try it later.
Dude this find is Sweet!!! Think this should be Stickied because it's simple, easy, and it works.
I will be making several different wallpaper CABs with this for my device so I can switch BG whenever. It would be sweet if there were a moile version so I wouldn't have to use my PC to make the files and CAB's Either way this is a 10 out of 10.
Note: In the program you have to go to 'Config' and set 'Profile Name' to 'Manila v2/v3 Default (No Compression)' or else it will not work.
Edit: One problem. The home Wallpaper is not changed even if I select Default wallpaper. Intresting. I will look in the other thread for an answer when I get back from camping.
yes, you have to set the (home screen) wallpaper separately, and you actually dont even have to set it for the tabs after installation - it just works, different from the touch hd (as far as i read this, i dont have one)
but thats fine for me, i wont change regularly, i am just glad to avoid that boring black background
Havent tried this yet. But it sounds sweet...
Just a few noob questions.
Does it require a cooked ROM ?
And can you uninstall the changes if it goes wrong?

There are no cooked roms for TD2 yet as there is no HardSPL available until today. So it is assumed that this works with official roms.
my rom is original and branding-free (and it worked flawlessly). there seemingly were issues using orange branded roms with touch hd.
this cab just replaces a few picture files, there is obviously no risk in it but losing these files, so you may want to backup them.
Another repost...

Is yours the HD2 specific version which is skinned in black and supports multi-touch gestures? I hope so, been looking for that one.
Hmm tuff question haha, it's HD2 specific yes but not sure about the skinning.
Why don't you give it a try, if it's not good you can deïnstall isn't?
That's what cabs are for.

Hehe, yeah. Just lazy.
I did install it and it is skinned black and it does have pinch/punch for zoom.
Been looking for this a while now, even though the red/blue themed one is newer and with better features (True Highway lane views for instance.) I like the black theme better visually.
Thanks L26!
Hi
I tried it on Artemis 3.7, but copilot wasn´t starting.
Error message:
splashscreen.exe not found
any help
TIA
i downloaded the copilot cab from duttys rom
hd2 specific black colour and multitouch pinch to zoom
heres the link for those wanting copilot but using custom roms that have removed it:
http://htcpedia.com/dutty_gps_copilo.../leo-apps.html
I tryed this too, but same message:
splashscreen.exe not found
I found splashscreen.exe on my computer, becaus I had used it befor flashing Artemis.
I copied it into the CoPilot file on the phone.
Surprise, it was already there but hidden, I overwrote it -> same again.

Stock Sprint Nav cab file?

Hello All,
I was just curious to know if anyone had a cab for the Sprint Navi that comes with the TP2?
I found a couple on the forums by searching but they all have a different UI then the stock one and it doesn't seem to display properly on the TP2.
If anyone knows where I can find the stock one that would be great.

Look for the |RHODCMDA|.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.- Energy -.¸¸.·´¯ * rom then click the paper clip to bring up the list of attached files. Search for TV&Navi Tab cab. It'll add the tabs as well as install the actual programs.

Cool. Thanks for the info.
Actually I went to use the old version I had yesterday and a message popped up telling me there was a newer version available.
I was able to download the newest cab and update the software right on the device. Used it right afterward and it worked great.
