I wonder if anyone encounters this. Or is this normal by design?
rom: wm6.5, HTC's official release for diamond2 in southeast Aisa, WWE.
When the phone is started, Task Manager does not list the program (or process?) SMS/MMS.
In this state, SMS messages can be received normally, with proper notifications I set.
After I reply to a message, tap the cross in the upper right corner of the inbox (native inbox of Outlook), and return to the Home screen, I can never receive message notifications. As soon as I open th inbox again, the notifications all come.
This is strange, since incoming messages can be received, even when SMS/MMS is not listed in Task Manager.
The only explanation can be that the system process incoming messages and delivery notifications in different ways?
I have a HTC Touch, which carries wm6.0. The same thing happens on this phone. I haven't noticed this during the use of HTC Touch in the past year and the use of Diamond2 during the past four months!
Can anyone confirm this?
Hi,
I've been trying to disable talk application to display text of incoming messages (security risk), while still being notified when new message arrives. Not an option . You can either disable notifications for good, make them pop up (even worse) or have it as it is by default: showing you a line of text from last message you received.
I installed trillian IM hoping it would have the option I need, but with no luck. I'm perfectly happy with talk app btw, but lack of this option is simply plain old stupid.
Does anyone know how to resolve this or some other IM messenger that I could use instead, which has this nice little option?
Cheers

1) ability to turn on audible notifications that will play even when you are in the conversation threaded view. On my phone, the stock app and Textra both will not "beep" for a new text if I am in the conversation threaded view. Thus i'm forced to back out of the convo or lock my screen just so I can get the beep to let me know if I have received a new text. I want a app that always beeps no matter what screen I am in.
2) can hide the message content when the message is received and instead just show me the contact name and number or etc. Just don't want the message itself to show on the screen until i click on it. Textra has this option, but it does not have option 1.
Thanks a bunch!
hi guys, I have the gear s2 for about a day only so far, and is hoping some of you can help me with the issues I'm experiencing.
1. When I receive a message on Viber, the watch doesn't vibrate (have read through similar threads on this already and have tried factory resetting and uninstalling the gear app on my phone). Watch vibrates fine when I receive messages via the default messaging app. I did add Viber to the notification apps on the gear app.
2. Checking the notification area, it just shows me "NAME has sent you a text message" instead of the actual message itself. At first I thought this is as good as I can get it to work, and that it isn't compatible with Viber to show the actual messages, but last night when I went to sleep, I received 3 Viber messages, and this morning, when I checked the watch, all 3 "actual" messages were displayed on the notification screen. So there must be some ways to make this work? New messages I've received thus far this morning have reverted back to "NAME has sent you a text message" notification. I think it is kind of pointless to have a smartwatch that doesn't vibrate when someone sends you a text via Viber, and when you do check your watch, you only see a notification that someone sent you a text message instead of being able to read the actual message.
3. The watch forces you to use the default messaging app, and won't work properly with Go SMS Pro. I've always used Go SMS Pro, because the default messaging app is very slow on threads with a lot of messages. Any workaround for this?
4. Is it safe to use the dock with my Samsung quick charger adapter or do I have to use its own adapter?
I pair the watch with a Galaxy Note Edge. Thanks!
EDIT: Fixed the Viber issue by enabling "Show Message Preview" on Viber settings within your phone app. The downside is, when enabled, the notifications on your phone when you receive a Viber message will also show the whole actual message.
anyone guys? especially #2? Is there a way to make viber messages show the actual message itself and not just a notification? thanks

After using the watch for another day, I found out that Go SMS Pro works with the watch, and you don't have to use the default Samsung Messaging app.
Also found out that when you receive a Viber message from 1 person, the watch will only notify you that you have received a text message. But if another person sends you a message through Viber as well (without you opening your phone yet), then both "actual" messages will start to show on the watch. Replying will still require your phone, as you can't reply though the watch. Weird that this happens and I hope it can be fixed.
Thanks.
Hi,
Can't find that setting anymore neither in Phone app settings nor in Reminders settings.
Not available anymore?
Thanks!!!
Well.. you need to slide up during a call and Remind me in 1 hour option is on the top of the text message list.
Who could have thought..
