I'm pretty sure I'm the only person on the planet that actually has a set up like this... if I'm wrong, please post... there is no information out there about this old application.
I have a home surveillance system setup using 2 Q See DVR cards. Q See was nice enough to make a Windows Mobile 2003 application called "Pocket Camera" that connects to the Super DVR software used to record the cameras. You type in your IP and port, username and password and it connects to your home DVR system. Then it gives you a drop down list of the cameras you can view.
The software worked perfectly... until I got a VGA device. It only seems to work on qVGA. I know its a long shot... but does anyone know how to get this to work on a VGA device? The network portion works fine... it connects, authenticates and even gets the list of cameras. The software just has an issue rendering the video since (I think) it is expecting qVGA resolution.
Thanks!
Just wanted to post an update in case anyone is having this issue.
I emailed Qsee tech support and they actually called me back! I was amazed. It turns out that I was right and their old code does not support the new phones that have VGA resolutions. They said they were going to send this to their programmers for feedback. Hopefully they get it fixed, being able to view my cameras on my phone has been FANTASTIC.
If anyone has any idea on how to emulate a qvga screen on a vga device, please share.
I have not had any luck (as you had) with Q-see's tech support. In fact, it took nearly 5 weeks of daily emails and testing before they finally admitted to me that their software would not run on a vga device. Anyway, I installed ie 6.1 (I found a cab here) and it *for whatever reason* runs the pocket camera program.

Since my last update, I've had horrible support from Q-See. They are not the strong customer service group I thought they were. I've had nothing but problems for the last 4 months... but I was just recently able to get this thing working on the vga touch pro 2 AND on windows XP.
I had to update to the newest version of SuperDVR, disable all of the activex protections so you can run their UNSIGNED ACTIVEX control. Why they refuse to sign the activex, I will never understand.
However, the cab that comes with the new SuperDVR actually works in VGA.
Basically, Q-See support sucks, but installing the new superdvr worked.
Did you have to buy the SuperDVR? I cannot find it on their website, or anywhere else for that matter.

Go to www.q-see.com and click on products
Then pick PC based DVR systems
Then pick your card
Then at the bottom, there is a table that has info in it. One of the column headers is "software".
Here is a direct link, but I don't know how long it will work. They seem to change their software direct links quite often and it keeps breaking my bookmarks.

Simple question that I have not yet seen here, apologies if it has been posted:
How can you add printer drivers to your Fuze for use in JETCET? I have a Brother network printer that I can successfully see from phone, but there are only Epson, HP, and Canon drivers available.
TIA
I don't know if you can. I couldn't find my HP network printer on the list so I just tried a few of the drivers until one worked. I don't know if you can install any though.
Many times these printers can emulate popular HP printing protocols. See if it may be compatible with any of the HP PCL variants.
Wow, rreat minds think alike...
I'm glad you guys are talking about this. I just purchased a HTC Touch Pro and I was wondering the same thing. I guess we need to get together and get a list of printer drivers that are compatible with the ones provied in the JETCET PRINT 5. I have a Lexmark X4850 WiFi printer if anyone can give me the compatible driver listed in the JETCET I would appreciate it.
Anybody able to shed some light on why I can't find my network printer from the phone? I have tried putting in the ip address and network name also, both to no avail. I am able to map shared netword drives after being asked to log on.

Probably a silly question for you experts, but how do I find my printer's IP address on my network?
My Canon PIXMA Pro9500 Printer works great with this app.
Hope This Helps
This helped me setting up mine..

JETCET 5
i am disappointed with a number of limitations in this software. for example, there is a "Color LaserJet Series" printer that does not even give basic PCL rendering for color laserjets (i have 2550n). they are outright incompatible. i am getting by with using the generic Monochrome driver. documents are just pretty much stream-dumped with no layout.
i have been in touch with WESTTEK about some of the limitations i have experienced. since JETCET is supplied in the ROM, we are entitled to free updates as "registered users". i have downloaded and installed the latest version. no improvement for my particular driver issues.
i'm not able to get JETCET to recognize Notepad files as supported document types.
something which is not obvious: while in Internet Explorer, if you hold down the stylus, you will get a Print menu item as the last choice. this will bring up the JETCET dialog and you can print a web page directly.
i have trialed the other mobile printing apps and feel this one is the best. any other recommendations or success stories out there?
anyone that gets the Color Laserjet Series driver to work, please post your success.
I have a lexmark X4850...
I emailed Lexmark tech support to see which driver in the JETCET current listing of printers would my printer be compatible with. "Their reply was It's not supported." If anyone has any info on how to obtain a driver cross-reference please post your findings.
Where did you sign-up as a registered user? I don't see that option on their site.

Problems Connecting
For those of you who have had problems connecting to a network printer, here are a few things that I found helped my situation:
1) You have to use the local IP and not the DNS (name of printer, etc.). For some reason, Jetcet and Remote Desktop don't seem to like the names
2) I had to disable the AT&T proxy before I was able to connect
Of course, once I was able to connect, the program didn't support my printer so I still couldn't print, but at least I got it this far...

Well, you got further than I have. Even putting in the local IP (in my case: http://192.168.1.106) doesn't work.
Make sure to reserve a fixed IP in your DHCP for your printer
Another Solution
this is the program I use and have never had a problem. Yes I you have to pay for this program but it works.

i have a pixma mp610 anyone know which driver is the closest?
No love printing to my Brother MFC-490CW. JETCET apparently seees my printer. After entering the IP address, the printer display lights up, and JETCET give me the option to select a printer manufacturer and model. Obviously, no Brother drivers, and the dozen or so I've tried don't report errors, but don't print either.
jetcet
i have photosmart c4380 from hp did any one get this one to work

I can confirm this. I have a custom rom, that came without the app (but the original rom had the jetcet app). I've downloaded a previous version and then I downloaded the 15 day trial and now I have the latest version.
Im sick of the most useful apps being developed for the iPhone only.
Take this app for example
http://www.mobiletechaddicts.com/2008/11/16/tv-plus-sky-remote-for-iphone-updated/
This app would be SO useful to UK WM users. The ability to remote record programs on your Sky+ or Sky+HD box would be extremely useful, yet we are being left out in the cold yet again.
This is seriously the last straw, im almost ready to jump ship next gen of phones.
Does anyone know of a WM equivilant?

As you might have seen on the "application" you linked in your post: it is again not a real application but a web service packed in an executable file for iPhones - something the world really does not need since service providers such as TiVo are launching their own stuff:

you guys dont get it, this isnt a remote control app nor should I be required to buy a slingbox (expensive). The iphone app is simple, you sign in with your sky account username and password, you pull up a complete TV guide and you set recordings from the app. The app communicates with skys servers which then in turn send a signal to your sky box from wherever you are in the world and your box will record that programme.
Now, granted you can do this from the sky.com website, but typically its one of those sites that just doesnt work in Opera or pocket IE.
Tivo Mobile
Tivo Mobile was released last month but don't know if that helps you.
no hes lives in uk. sky+ is like a uk tivo.
theres an app for iphone that lets you sign into you sky account and record a show from you phone
he want an app that lets him sign into his sky+ account with his mobile

Well, I got you already in first place! Even the iPhone Application is nothing but a modified webbrowser control, so, basically, you're loading the Sky+ website into your iPhone - and this is why I always wonder then people talk about 'aplication on the iPhone', mostly these are nothing but web services!
Sky+ is promissing and promoting the MOBILE REMOTE RECORDING on their website and I can't believe that OPERA can't view the site properly! You might wanna contact their technical support in order to get it solved!
Actually mate, it is possible to get one of the java apps for the sony phone to work aparently. Though I havent tried it on the diamond, but i did get it working on my wizard.
So, just download one of the sony ericson java remote record apps and install and try. Have a bit of a google.

You got 2 options to try here,
either just browse to the tv guide page on the sky page as normal, at the top it will give you the option for screen reader version. works a treat, bookmark it to save browsing the horrific sky homepage
you can always 1 up your iPhone freinds, grab skyfire browser, full web browsing including flash. just tried will check if it worked when I get home. Downside is skyfire needs good connection i.e wifi or 3g to work well.
either way less clutter on you phone, rather than the mess of utils you get on iPhone.
hope that helps.
That app has been around for time mate it was a java app and i had it on my symbian phone i think you can get it here they cover all versions

It seems like owners of WM have to scour the entire globe to find software for their phones. While iPhone owners simply go to the app store and download them all in one place.

You forget 1 thing:
If you have only 1 single place then this single place will most likely make the decision for you which applications will be available to you and which not - this is (unfortunately) quite common in the Apple Store! I am quite happy that I can different stuff on different places! Often you get your stuff directly from the developer's website where you then find as well support and forums for the particular product.
Now, think about the following: each super market in the world would be Wal-Mart ... go a step further and try to determine what you might find in Wal-Mart if no other stores are around anymore ... go the final step and try to get support from an Wal-Mart employee for the product you bought ... brrrrr!
That java app (which I used to use on an old sony ericsson) does not and will not work on a touch HD with its lack of buttons
Good news http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skycom/tvguide/tvlistingsalternate works in opera.
Bad news - there is no way to login to your account. opera/sky site simply doesnt remember your credentials :-(
why don't you wait for a dev phone like compulab exeda
I'm getting tired of carrying around all these damn keyfobs for grocery stores, BestBuy, haricuts, etc. After some searching, I discovered an app for the iPhone from a company called CardStar (www.mycardstar.com). Unfortunately, they only make the app for the iPhone though according to the FAQ, are considering other platforms. Does anyone know of of a PPC application that will work the same??
Thanks.
So I recently came accross Cardstar too - my wife has an iPhone (!) - and was also interested in this - anyone out there got any ideas???
i'm looking for the same thing.
For what it's worth, I've heard that Cardstar doesn't actually work well -- LCD screens cannot be read by laser barcode scanners so it only works for "camera" scanners which most stores don't use. I've heard from several people that the stores wind up entering the numbers by hand anyways, so you could replicate the ACTUAL functionality with a mobile word doc.
If you want a similar concept that will actually scan, check out keyringthing.com, which automatically formats cards to print onto a cutout. They'll also sell you a printed plastic card for a few bucks.
Try http://Fonet.mobi web site . they have have same feature as CardStar and they have lots of other features also.
any one know if there is an alternative yet for this?
Cardstar Works and Alternative for Win Mobile
I have the Cardstar app on my iPod Touch and used it at CVS and Giant without any issues. My primary phone is the awesome HTC HD2 which is running Win Mobile and as was previously mentioned Cardstar is not yet available for this OS. Today, I took pictures of my Cardstar screens with my 10MP digital camera, cropped the photos, and uploaded them to my HD2. My intent is to use these scanned pix at the scanners to see if they can be read as if they were the actual Cardstar display. Will report back on the results. If this is successful, this could also be ised on non smartphones.
Is there an barcodereader to TD2?
If not,any tips of a good one?
Tried i-nigma barcode reader v1.40 but on my phone it
was so slow...
You can try Quickmark.
It' free for few type of barcode and handle 2D barcode.
With topaz can use autofocus for the camera.
I have a problem with registering on that site =( could someone provide the cab?
Would it work with normal barcodes from Europe?
hi...
Quickmark works also with EAN8/EAN13 Barcodes.
but for those codes you need an internet connection and the advanced version (cost 10$ / 7€)..
read this article...
There is as well i-nigma. It's free, but I do not remember if it supports EAN8/EAN13 barcodes.
Purhapsed...
But... What does it actually do? x)
I scan the code, it gets it
Then I get numbers, I press "acces" and it says Redirected List 0/5 Records
I can press "search the web"
Then I get a site: select from the search list below
*empty*
... (Yess the full version )
*edit*
I found it, it works now, ty!
*edit*
Should it actually do something with those codes?
Cause... Else I bought it with the wrong intentions
If I re-read everything I understand that it decodes the codes,
But... If I scan it, I want to do something with it, rather then knowing the code (I can read that myself...)
*edit*
I found it, it works now, ty!
Try barcorama.
works good, supports EAN8/13 - Code 128
